ACP → System → Files → Image Settings
That’s where you set the compression level(s). In addition, you can set the maximum pixel size for attachment uploads. Both of these options combined get you pretty far.

Invision 4.7 seems to lack automatic image compression functionality when images are attached to a post. This results in us using more storage than absolutely necessary. I vaguely recall that Invision had an automatic image compression feature in an previous version but I can't seem to find any way to do this in 4.7.
Our userbase consists of members with varying level of technical ability, so while we ask them to optimise their images it would be unreasonable for us to expect them to do this, not to mention it's an inconvenience. Is there a solution to this?

With todays phone cameras picture sizes will just get bigger and bigger.
As people are, they don't tend to care about the picture size but jus upload their pictures as they are. To think that normal people will understand the concept of making pictures smaller is to hope for to much.
Is there any way to automatically downscale pictures in IPB when they are uploaded? (I know that it's possible to set at maximum size when you upload the picture, but I'd rather resize them automatically – I believe in making it smooth for the end user.)

You can turn off “Post before Registering”. Type “post before register” in the ACP search to find it. 

Afterwards, guests need to register first before submitting a post. 

Everything is set up to work as a normal email server, and works as it should.
I don't understand what you mean by "drop emails"? 
The mail that I get (as shown above) is the mail server saying there is no mail account on that address, because the spammer have used an email that doesn't exist. Thus I (as in the admin of the site) am sent an email every time these emails won't reach their destination.
So basically I wonder if there's a way to turn off the "Did you forget to submit your content?" email, or a better solution to this behavior?

Furthermore, I can't find any "PRUNE MEMBERS" link in my Members page. I have some hundred spammers that I want to ban and delete. It's quite tedious to do this manually.... 😖

The last few weeks I have started to get email from my IPB, see below. These are obviously spammers that don't have a legit email address.
Is there any way to NOT get these emails?

These are part of the "post before register" feature. That email is sent out when a user has posted, but not subsequently entered valid registration details. The only way in which you would be able to stop those completely, would be to switch of post before register. You can see more about this here
 
 

I am 100% sure that in IPB3.x I as a moderator could move posts to another thread, but it seems impossible to do it in Invision Community.

Found it. You have to give moderators access in the IPB control panel.

Option 1: Set up a filter in your email account to filter out just those messages. 
Option 2: Set up a “black hole” mailbox (e.g. noreply@yourdomain.com) you don’t check and set it as “outgoing” mail address in the ACP.

Log a ticket with support, as it should be presenting the correct number of found members based on the filtered search.

I see it as your favicon, it is possible that your browser's cache is misleading you

It works. 
Favicons are heavily cached by the browsers. Reloading a page doesn’t refresh them if they were changed.

Today, I wanted to delete  very old members belonging to a specific group and who had no content at all.
So I made a search and it returned 6 pages :

Then, I saw that there was no checkbox to deleted all members in one click...
So I told myself I had to delete each member at a time... I tried deleting one member and I got this :

Anyway, I went ahead and, after deleting the member, I saw that I was back to... the members' page. Moreover, I had to do the whole process again...

So is there another and fast way to remove these members ?

Well, it's actually visible, but it's white on a white background. You should probably change the color or add a border 🙂

.ipsReact_button { filter: grayscale(0%) brightness(100%); } It will make it look normal. The problem is that the default is meant for the heart and doesn't work well on the yellow emojis.

I typically change all the hearts to thumbs up for "like" on all my sites. I never understood "hearting".

You likely installed a version of mysqldump that doesn't match the version of mysql on your server. In any case, try adding:
--column-statistics=0 to the command.
