No, that would be fine, as long as the PHP 8.2 version has all the required extensions of course Disruption 1
Gary Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Upgraded perfectly fine to Beta 6 with PHP Version 8.2.25.

Keep in mind there is limited support for Betas so if you are unsure how to obtain server error logs and post those for analysis, I would recommend not running the beta.

Jim M Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Would ensure that all files are overwritten on their v4 counterparts.

The Support area has been removed from Commerce in v5, so that file won't be overwritten no matter what as it's not present anymore. The code should avoid loading extensions not present anymore in the extensions.json file. 🤔 Hatsu, konon, Omri Amos and 1 other 4
kmk Posted December 1 Posted December 1 Can I rename the current ips install folder (/html), create another folder placing the name as html, then in that new folder install the v5 version? In that case additional of the v5 files download from ips, which files need to be transfered from the old folder?
Hatsu Posted December 1 Posted December 1 Yes, you can do that. I did it. As no plugin, application or theme from v4 will work in v5 the only folders from your old installation you should care about are your uploads folders. If you have several different paths for uploads and/or for the application Downloads you have to keep them as well. And if anything goes wrong you still have your old installation as backup. Make sure you do a database backup as well before upgrading. So create a new directory, copy all v5 files into this directory and then copy all your uploads folders into this directory as well. If you have an external storage I have no experience with that. But then you should have all your uploads automatically, I guess.
Jim M Posted December 1 Posted December 1 You would need to keep your uploads folder and/or any other attachment folders you have.

Now I am reviewing my case again, in case if I install v5 in a new directory, yes I can abandone all 3party apps and plugins, but how about my articles or topis, how can I pass the these content to the new v5?

I use Filezilla to upload the v5 files to the directory, it warm about if I want to replace the file, I did it....so suppose all files uploaded are replacing to the files with same name....I missed something more?
Marc Posted December 1 Posted December 1 As this looks to be something from the support items on commerce, which have been removed, please submit this within the bug report area

Before that already have all 3party apps and plugins disabled.

We're unable to resolve issues on a case by case basis at this point in the beta process
