Richad Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Pages is completely unusable in my install. Only way to actually get a partially functional install is to erase all content and start from scratch.
jaeitee Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Pages is completely unusable in my install. Only way to actually get a partially functional install is to erase all content and start from scratch.Pages for us hasn't been usable since the 1st pre-release, and every Beta after that has fixed one issue and created another. Just keep plugging those bug reports through.
tAPir Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 7a Delta broke 7 for me so I'll have to find something else to do this weekend.
Adlago Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Please download the package again, reupload the files(no need to run the upgrader) and delete the uploads/javascript_* directories. This will fix the javascript and editor issueLast night I did it 2 times - to no result. Now repeated in all your advise - also without result.Upgrade from 7 to 7a is impossible. No upgrade has many bugs. Will not you open a working version 7 x ...?
Daniel F Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Last night I did it 2 times - to no result. Now repeated in all your advise - also without result.Upgrade from 7 to 7a is impossible. No upgrade has many bugs. Will not you open a working version 7 x ...?You missed this step: delete the uploads/javascript_* directories. I've deleted the directories for you and waited till they were rebuild automatically. The js & editor issue is fixed now on your board:)
Adlago Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 The strange thing is that I also delete these directories. But I not waited - and obviously should. Thanks
Adlago Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Bug with blocks is history. But upgrade from 7 to 7a, it stops hereInvalid argument supplied for foreach()Location: Step 7 1. Application: Core Retry? Continue
sunrisecc Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 That is what I reported in the tracker. It was later marked fixed but no work-around given.
sunrisecc Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Additional info.http://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/beta7a-upgrade-fails-invalid-argument-supplied-for-foreach-r2431/
jaeitee Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 That is what I reported in the tracker. It was later marked fixed but no work-around given. Work arounds in the bug reports are more an anomaly, not a standard. The fixes will come with the next release
DesignzShop Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 7a Delta broke 7 for me so I'll have to find something else to do this weekend. Been there several times and many weeks and weekends
sunrisecc Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 When the installer/ upgrader is broken, a work-around is expected. Examples 5 and 5a, 6 and 6a, 7 and 7a. Need I say more.
DesignzShop Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 If you have an issue please report it and we can of course resolve. This however is not the way to do it, please watch the wording.Last I checked Crap isn't a bad word and paying customers are allowed an opinion
MMXII Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I doubt the devs had the intention to break their own software... As it turned out, 7a wasn't that "ready" for beta testing. That can happen. I am pretty sure a new release will follow very soon, however I don't expect it to come over the weekend.
sunrisecc Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 That is why I syggested that it be withdrawn. Instead we get a fixed post later amended to suggest only partially fixed. The tracker was marked fixed and there are now further reports.
DesignzShop Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I doubt the devs had the intention to break their own software...I didn't read that into anything anyone said here. Did I miss something?
Feneroin Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Work arounds in the bug reports are more an anomaly, not a standard. The fixes will come with the next release Not always. For some fixed bugs, we have waited at least 2 release
DesignzShop Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 The tracker was marked fixed and there are now further reports. This is actually normal. They should re-open the ticket if there's a issue to be re-examined. bfarber has a lot of work to do back there and sometimes he could miss something, it's been done to me. I usually wait a couple of weeks then give the ticket a bump if it's been closed before and not re-opened.Feneroin says:Not always. For some fixed bugs, we have waited at least 2 release I say:And sometimes even more than 2 releases
MMXII Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I didn't read that into anything anyone said here. Did I miss something?Neither did I. It is what I say based on my personal experience, because for me 7a makes it impossible to use IPS4 at all (even a fresh installation does not work). So, where do you want to link that statement to, other than to my personal experience?
DesignzShop Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Neither did I. It is what I say based on my personal experience, because for me 7a makes it impossible to use IPS4 at all (even a fresh installation does not work). So, where do you want to link that statement to, other than to my personal experience? The comment was completely off topic for what's been discussed in the thread so I thought I missed something/maybe something got deleted... who knows.. thus the reasoning for me asking... Did I miss something? So I guess we can't link it to anything
bfarber Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I have posted the fix Andy committed to the tracker reporthttp://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/beta-7a-error-when-using-delta-upgrade-r2419/?do=findComment&comment=145442

Kirill N Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I'm thinking we all dancing along .. cha cha 2 steps forward .. 1 step backwards .. aahh crap .. I found another bug .. I'm off to report it I hope you realize that these posts of yours won't make the software less buggy or come faster.
iancassel Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 No problems going from 6 -> 7a. Did a full overwrite, ran /admin/upgrade ...took about 15 mins.
