Michael Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 That issue was patched several releases ago.
jerett Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Is there a way to setup different shout box's per forum? For example a private forum?
dacho Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Heres a question. I don't seem to have any control over how big the shoutbox appears, in terms of depth. Right now it is a bit crunched up on my index page (sidebar mode) and only the last 3 or so shouts can be seen. Any way to elongate it so that more of it can be seen? Thank you
Michael Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Is there a way to setup different shout box's per forum? For example a private forum? No, it's just a single Shoutbox. Heres a question. I don't seem to have any control over how big the shoutbox appears, in terms of depth. Right now it is a bit crunched up on my index page (sidebar mode) and only the last 3 or so shouts can be seen. Any way to elongate it so that more of it can be seen? Thank you Move your mouse around near the bottom of the Shoutbox area until the cursor changes, you can then drag and drop the Shoutbox to resize it.
dacho Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Brilliant! I had not noticed or even thought about trying that. Haha. Thank you :)
Rheddy Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I don't understand. I installed the update for Shoutbox 1.2.2 and it worked fine with my forums so why is it reported it as broken? I just installed the new update and I had no problems with it. Obviously, someone either tried to inistall it on a 3.1.4 board or they didn't upload or install it correctly. Michael, there is nothing wrong with the installation for the new release of 1.2.2. I installed the update perfectly with no problems. Excellent job. Ignore the "broken" report on your recent release.
Michael Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Because some people like to report files as broken when they have issues instead of asking here. Broken flag removed.
Rheddy Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011  That's why I prefer asking in the support forums here at IPS, before reporting something as broken. I'm just very outspoken about it when I post about it in here.
KitCarl Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 After updating both board to 3.2 and shoutbox to compatible application, shoutbox is functioning properly, but in the Admin area I have a blank Settings: Global Configuration page is blank?
Michael Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Try this: http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/340044-download-shoutbox-32/page__view__findpost__p__2139919
KitCarl Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I re-imported the .xml file. I get a java popup that says "25 settings update. 0 imported". Still no settings even after a hard refresh.
Michael Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Check under the My Apps -> Shoutbox -> Settings area instead of the System Settings page.
Maxhunter Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 some smiles are not working with new sb like :(( :)) >> << using instead off >> also instead of << please gimme a solution
Michael Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 So you've created new emoticons, one for example that has the code :(( , and that emoticon works when posting on the forums, but not in the Shoutbox?
Michael Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 No, it's not a new version, I just consolidated my Tracker categories and updated the documentation accordingly.
Maxhunter Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 So you've created new emoticons, one for example that has the code ( , and that emoticon works when posting on the forums, but not in the Shoutbox? yes its working in forums but not working in sb
Michael Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I can't reproduce any such issue. When I have an emoticon that uses that code, it works the same in both a forum post and in the Shoutbox.

Pressing Enter to submit a shout can only ever work in the Global Shoutbox hook.
Joey_M Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Michael; I'm assuming it would be very simple to change the title of the shoutbox? I'd like to rename it to 'chat' as shouting seems wrong to me and my forums users are the type of bunch to be picky about using it when it's called shout :P Just a case of editing the lang files right?
Michael Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 It depends on where you want to change it at. The button in the navigation area is probably set in the Manage Applications & Modules page, under the settings for this application. The others should all be scattered throughout the language files.
flash_merged Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Since I have a fluid website, the shoutbox spans far across the top of my site. It seems like a lot of empty space. What I would like to do is place a box on the right of the shoutbox. Perhaps a square banner or ad in that space. Another possibility is to just add a square banner inside the right side of the shoutbox. Is this possible? Any general place in the templates I can look to play with the code? Thanks for any help.
