Is there a way to turn off the "My Friends" link without having to manually delete it? l've turned off the 'New' profile in Admin CP but the link is still there. These things are so childish, it's as though they are trying to turn IPB into Myspace.

IP Address Not Matching Up

I tried to log into the ACP, and I got I have gotten this error before, and I know that it is a quick edit in admin.php. Unfortunately, IPB 2.2 Beta is encoded, so I am not able to edit that file. Is there any other way to get back into my ACP? I have over 20 other people testing, so it's not easy to just "start over." They all have ACP access, if it makes a difference. Is the only way to fix it to make a new account?

OK, I know this falls under the "no discussing IPS products" rule, but I think IPS is making a mistake with 2.2 and I'd like to, real quick, see if others agree it's a mistake. Sorry, staff. When MySpace did it - logging you off when you left the site, making it impossible to stay logged in - and you had to reenter your username and password - it was bad enough, but MySpace had the clout to do it. Everyone's using it so they can get away with pulling crap like that. IPB doing the same thing will kill or otherwise adversely affect new communities if the users are annoyed they have to log in every time. You've always had that option up there "Rememeber Me". Admin CP Restrictions addition - Splash Page

Well, I would like to set restrictions to the other admins on my forum, but if i do they are restricted by the splash page by default. I would like the option to allow them to see the splash page. I also believe it would be good to add the choice for restrictions to user groups also. I do not want to set the restrictions for each of the other admins individually... Hope you act upon my suggestion... :D

InvisionFree 2.2 now includes a limit on the number of quotes in a thread. This feature is excruciatingly irritating, especially in conjunction with the double post automerger. I was replying to a very long post when I came up against the hard limit on the number of quotes. I tried posting it piece-meal by using the automerger, but I had no luck. Since I could not start a new post, I was unable to post my entire post with all of the quote tags; I was instead forced to edit a good deal of them to quotation marks. I fear that the same is also true for posts with a large number of images or smilies and posts that come up against the limit on characters. There are two possib…

On the beta release 2.2 or the current final release when receiving a reply to the current topic you've subscribed to instead of receiving a generic email saying "Topic Subscription Reply Notification ( invision Power services )" It would send an email out that grabs the topic title example "Reply for Email reply with Topic Title as the subject header" for the subject field. Is that possible or would you have to modify it? since the topic title is included in the body it should be in theory easy to change

I'm an Opera user and I immediately noticed some things didn't function like they should in 2.2 (i.e. clicking on smilies doesn't work- I have to select them from the drop-down) Is 2.2 made with browsers other than FF and IE in mind?

To keep people from maliciously spamming the board perhaps we could set a feature for GROUPS where we could specify the max number of posts a person can make in a 24 hour period, depending on the group they're in... thanks, Brad

As I couldn't get an answer in the last thread, I'd like someone who is able to answer this for me to do so, please. One question: Will/are the smileys in the Side Panel be clickable and fixed for PB2? I don't want this to turn into one big flame fest like the last thread, I just wanted to discuss the Side Panel Emoticons for the PB2 release. Also, is it expected to be released tomorrow permitting there are no showstopper bugs in it?

When you subscribed to any topic or as IPB calls it Track this topic, when you will hit Options for that topic you ALWAYS see Track this topic! So when you press Track this topic already been subscribed to it you get an "Error page" with The error returned was: You are already subscribed to this topic or forum. This is realy stupid! I have a lot of friends who use IPB and all says this is the most thing they hate in IPB. P.S. In VB when you are subscribed to any topic and you hit Options you see option like Unrack this topic (if we say IPB format). I can't understand why this one was not "fixed" for such a long period!? A suggestion on board usage and availability

Due to the changes in the license fees, is there a potential market for having an IPS sponsored board only hosting deal that costs say $5 a month for hosting a board on IPS servers, without providing the customer and web space other than the bare minimum to support the board and a modest amount say 10mb for uploaded attachments and avatars? I am aware there is a hosting deal priced at $28 a month which includes a mutant version of the board tied to IPS servers, but that sort of money is unrealistic compared to the current quality hostsed under $10 per month. I feel that with the change, which I am sure is for a good reason, the market for IPB amongst hobbyists would coll…
