Profile Page Blocks
by Guest beatvault- 2 replies

First off, 2.2 looks great. Will we be able to rearrange and remove the blocks within the Profile Page like the Blog page can currently?

Loving this!A few things though so far.I love the icon next to the poster name in the topic, I love alot of the other enhancements too.The Top button I don't care for being all the way to the left, but I suppose I could get used to it.The compose screen I think looks great, although I don't see the need for a bigger area for posting, and dislike that I don't see emoticons next to it.What I dislike most:

Blogs
by Guest .Cameron- 1 reply

The Blog and Gallery modules were mentioned in the 2.2 announcement so I thought this might be an appropriate area to question as to the disappearance of the blog module, and this error message when attempting to manually go to it: Obviously something is missing! :P

MySQL Replication Support
by Guest Tim Dorr- 1 reply
- 2.2k views
For the larger boards out there, it would be helpful if the DB driver could support replication slaves automatically within IPB. Basically, any SELECT statement could go to any slave server and the rest would all go to the master server. We've hacked it into the code at Neowin before, but it would be nice it we had it out of the box ;)

snapback on profile page
by Guest jdanzuso- 2 replies
- 1.8k views
If the user on the posts block has a quote in one of the posts the snapback image does not work. It does not call the image folder so all you get is this: http://forums.invisionpower.com/style_imag...st_snapback.gif

Thread type > Link
by Guest Strange_Will- 2 replies
- 1.5k views
I've been thinking of writing up an extensive sticky on the features I run on my server (like Teamspeak, how to get to it, etc) and have though it would be nice to make one sticky, and be able to make other threads nothing but links back to that sticky... A good idea? :P Of course users would KILL this, but this would be an awesome tool for admins and mods.

Confirmation on the permissions of upload images/files?
by Guest grinler- 0 replies
- 1.1k views
I am looking for confirmation on what the permissions of upload files and images will be in the uploads folder? The reason I am asking is that one of the leading lightweight http servers (thttpd), which many would like to use for image/file serving, instead of iis or apache considers files with the execute permission a script and wont serve them normally. I can not see a reason to keep the permissions set to 777 and was wondering if this was change to use 644 instead which is the appropriate setting for html and image files ? Btw, everything looks awesome! Great job!

Find member's posts AJAX function on profile
by Guest ellawella- 3 replies
- 1.5k views
When you visit a member profile, it immediately begins searching for their latest posts. Is this a good idea? Seems a little resource heavy to me (took about a minute to come up just now). What's more, the times aren't shown next to the posts, only the date, which isn't much good. And "Read Topic" actually takes you to the post, not the main topic. It should be a link to showtopic=x, with a direct link somewhere else. Hey, and what do I do if I want to view more than the last five posts of a member? And the full reply box is FAR too wide. The more padded "Topic Title" and "Topic Description" fields above look out of place compared with it. And also, the new ipb-top-rig…

Missing left aligned when posting
by Guest robirming- 7 replies
- 2.3k views
I don't know if it's meant to look like this, but I think it looks a bit weird. The stuff above and below the posting form is not aligned to the left, it's pushed a bit to the right: Tested in FF 1.5 on Mac OSX.

Post Screen
by Guest lupin84- 4 replies
- 1.6k views
I love a lot of the new features but just one thing is bothering me - the post screen. I don't like emoticons in the dropdown, they just seem like an extra click away now. As someone with a lot of emoticons on my board I see that's going to be a major problem for people. I'm also not as keen on the bigger posting aread and some of the new images for like B, I, U etc... they looked way slicker before. Loving the new Profile features though.

Forum restructuring request
by Guest Sam A- 3 replies
- 1.9k views
I notice in the "Coming soon from IPS" portion of the announcement that a forum restructure is planned. Can I suggest a forum for discussing IPB and other IPS products? Or at least allowing us to discuss IPS in the Community General Chat forum? Such a thing is sorely missed in my estimation. I know disucssion was prohibited because there were issues with people looking for support but from what I've seen people still do it anyway. Just a thought.

Root forum missing in breadcrumb

When viewing a subforum the root forum is missing in the breadcrumbs. Example: Invision Power Services > Invision Power Gallery > Feature Suggestions and Ideas should be: Invision Power Services > Product and Service Development > Invision Power Gallery > Feature Suggestions and Ideas

my keyboard all the sudden switched to qwerty, I probably hit a wrong key combination on my dell portable in the excitement of the ipb 2.2 release but thought id report it anyways... it would seem strange that board software does change your keyboard wouldnt it... :D

"My Blog" link in member bar
by Guest Kyanar- 0 replies
- 1.1k views
It seems that the blog isn't actually installed, but the "My Blog" link is there. If you click it, you are told, rather rudely, "Cannot find /home/forumsi/public_html/sources/sql/mysql_blog_queries.php - exiting!" I understand that it's not actually installed properly yet, but the link is a little misleading.

Something small you can fix :p
by Guest Pantalaimon- 4 replies

Howdy! Lovin' the new features, etc, this WYSIWYG editor, all top notch stuff lads! Glad I own 1/2 of your products already! Anywho, the reason I'm posting is because, I have this curse for picking out detail, and I thought I'd let you know . . . When you mouse over the smilies in the WYSIWYG view, it says "Background Color" now if "Color" was spelt "Colour" I'd be ok about it, but it's not, so why not name it correctly?! Emoticons?! XD Anywho, that's all, Cheers lads and great work!

New Profile add a comment error
by Guest RedEnzian- 0 replies
- 1.2k views
dont know, if it is really an error, but when i add a comment to a profile, it would be nice, the middle content (the comments full list) would also be refreshed and displays the new added comment. currently only the small comment overview on the right site is reloading.

New Profile Comments
by Guest RedEnzian- 0 replies
- 1.2k views
just find an error in the new profile (in this case matts profile). bfarber has left a comment there, when clicking on the name "bfarber" in the comments view, the entire invision board page will be loaded through ajax, i think, the whole page should be redirected to bfarbers profile.

Why the sexist language in IPB? 1 2
by Guest AChick- 49 replies
- 15.2k views
As you can probably ascertain from my username, I'm not a male. I'm sure that there are many other Board Administrators of my gender out there, as well, and I'm sure that Invision is aware of this. Why, then, do the emails sent to me from my board to alert me of new registrations open with "Hello Mr. Admin Sir!"? I don't feel that I should have to delve into and edit language files in order to keep from being addressed as a man. My feature suggestion is that you get with the times and not make assumptions about the gender of those using your software.
