Suggestions: Skin selection permissions
by Guest rbiss- 6 replies
- 2.8k views
Could I suggest that in a future release/version that the ability to change a skin be permission based/granted by user group. Many of us have "premium" memberships who help pay for additional skins. It would be nice if we could designate purchased skins to be used by the user groups who help support those purchases. Thanks

I joined IPB a few months ago as I had previously used the forum via a free host and I was impressed with the hosting options offered and took the plunge for a paid account on a shared server. Up until yesterday I was very impressed with all the support and advice I had received from the support staff and delighted with my IPB forum. About 15 hours ago my forum was closed without any notice due to perceived high volumes of concurrent users and I was told to upgrade to a package that cost about 800% more than the one I was on or go elsewhere. I was shocked and angry that this attitude had been taken and my forum closed without notice cutting me off completely from the 2…

Feedback/Bug : Submitting a ticket.
by Guest R0CKY- 1 reply
- 1.7k views
I don't know if this is a browser issue or not, but when I try to submit a ticket using Firefox it's impossible to select both (1) which licence you are using and (2) which IPB department you wish to contact. For example, I have 4 licenses so when I log in to the support section, above the details box there is a column of radio buttons that list firstly all your licenses, then all the IPB departments. You cannot select one from each, it's one big list. So, once I select which domain or licence I need support with, I cannot then select which IPB Dept I need. The result, apparently, is that my last ticket took over a day for a response, because instead of going to a tech,…

Tickets going to the wrong department

When you submit a new ticket, if you select an IDM license from "Which is this related to?" - it sends the ticket to the "Marketing: Account Assistance" department rather than the Technical Support. I have to keep calling you every time I submit ticket about IDM

IP Address suggestions
by Guest Shadowsoft- 0 replies

Hello, Two quick suggestions. When logged in as a root admin and viewing the online list with IP address, it would be handy if you could click on one and be taken to the IP Address lookup section of my controls......Which brings me onto my second suggestion of including a "show me everything about this address" drop-down option in this section, the same as in the AdminCP "IP multitool" bit. Thanks, Martyn

Errors in the CSS Difference report
by Guest rakaposhi- 1 reply
- 1.4k views
This file has errors. It says green is removed HTML and purple is added HTML. One example, 3/4 of the way down that file, is where it says .tabon has been replaced by .rteimage Well, there is absolutely no sign of .rteimage in the CSS file for the 2.2 default skin, as found in the advanced editor. Very confusing and misleading..... I'm making changes to my custom skin and I don't know whats going on if I follow that css difference report.... !!??

Potential for confusion upon completed upgrade
by Guest Stuart Elliott- 8 replies
- 2.5k views
I've just finished updating my test forum to 2.2.1, and found the last screen to have potential to confuse people. As you can see, the only button available at completion of the upgrade process is "Cancel Upgrade", and whilst there is a recommendation that the user 'should now login to the admin control panel' there isn't a clear cut way of exiting the upgrader process, something that could easily be remedied with a final "Finish" button that does just that, or even back to the forums homepage.

Emoticon Order
by Guest n-k- 8 replies
- 2.6k views
The emoticons in the side panel and in the emoticon window don't appear to be ordered at all. This makes it impossible to show, for example, the most important emoticons like :) and :( before the others. Could you add an option to order them or at least order them alphabetically by default?

Bug Tracker
by Guest Coastie- 7 replies
It was being kept up with nicely before the holiday break. Since then it has fallen well behind with no 'apparent' attempt to catch up. There seem to be many 'little' bugs in 2.2.1, it would be nice if the bug tracker was kept updated (as in the past) to let us know you are acknowledging the clients work in reporting the bugs.

Is there a GDK File available for 2.2, and if not when will it be released? Would be nice to have one, for re-skinning my board? As far as I can see there are some minor changes, like the background of the profile tabs?

request: members can view their own posts when set to invisible?
by Guest sallam- 3 replies
- 1.4k views
I hope that this suggestion gets added in ACP as an option, in a future IPB version: An option that if selected by the admin, will allow a topic/post that moderators set to invisible, to still be viewed by the member who posted it. I'm using a mod for this, but it would be great if it was added among ACP options, so that we don't have to edit files with every new upgrade. Its a very useful option. Invisibilizing posts trigger members to shower mods with inquiries asking where their posts gone, and sometime they re-post thinking that a bug or something happened. Its also useful when we ask the member to edit their post before we can approve it, in cases of rule violation…

URL Changes and Consistent Policies
by Guest Michael P- 5 replies
- 2.5k views
Sometime ago I wished to move the URL from an active to inactive package, because the URL in the active package required no more support, and I wanted to use the active license on another project, this was done for me. Now I have an inactive license where the board is no longer in use, and I wish to change the URL to another forum I have, so that I can use the active package for another project, and I have been told that I can't do this. It would be nice if there was some consistency with policies, as it seems unfair to be expected to pay $150 for something I am licensed to have.

feature: build in disclaimer possibility
by Guest WalleniuM- 3 replies
- 1.6k views
Hi. just want to add a feature request: a disclaimer. some people would say: useless. but in germany (and many other european countries) you must have a disclaimer on business sites and other commercial and some non commercial pages. some lawyers are accusing sites because of a missing disclaimer. because of that a simple link in the footer and a textbos in the acp for adding html would be nice. (maybe as an official module. no idea) c/edit: changed impressum to disclaimer

Before you purchased: what confused you?
by Guest Charles- 16 replies
- 7.5k views
For existing customers: Before you finally purchased our software or one of our services: what confused you? By this I mean things that were not clear on our web site or something you had to email/call us to clarify before purchasing. We are working on a combination of a pre-sales FAQ and enhancing the web site here and there with better explanations of what we offer. As you might imagine, it is sometimes hard to separate those items that we know in our heads but others might not. Assumptions that people know what we mean when we say "skin" or talk about PHP requirements can cause people to either not purchase or to purchase and not really know what they are getting. …

Warning System
by Guest Enom- 6 replies
- 1.9k views
I have a suggestion to improve the IPB warning system. Why don't you do a system that changes the user group to a previously specified group (like "Banned") when the alert reaches 100%? I was wondering how to do that (because I wanted to ban automatically the user when he/she reaches 100% of warning level), and I tought that it would be very easyear. Ideia "graphical" representation: User reaches 100% Warning Level -> User group is changed to X -> The group X has the Banned forum mask Thanks a lot for the patience!

Just as my title states, I really believe that that the forums here need to be re-worked a lot. The forums that say IPS Company Feedback are getting a lot of pre-sales and support questions. >_< And that is perfectly fine, because people want answers members give them answers. So could you take the time to plan this out or rework some forums. I think we should keep the forum structure the way it is, because its nice, and looks great. Then we need to add Customer to Customer Support and possibly a pre-sales forum for asking general questions. To keep Feedback - Feedback and Support and Pre Sales in a totally different area. Maybe something like this... After th…

Live Chat Support
by Guest stobbo- 17 replies
- 5.9k views
I think it would be a good idea for IPS to implement a live chat system for support. It could also be used for pre-purchase questions. It would be like the telephone but without the cost for people who live outside the US. Also the Support Team could handle 2 - 3 Chats at once, unlike the telephone. Maybe it could even be built as a feature in Nexus when it is more developed, but thats another thing.
