Failover option for ext auth modules

When using an ext auth module in a corporate environment, or similar organisation where an authoritative master data source exists that holds staff/user records, the IPB board should have a failover option, so that the external datasource is queried first for log-in information, and if it fails (e.g. because it can't be looked up for technical reasons) then the internal database is referenced. Summarising.... existing options are internal, then external {on-fail} external only {passthrough} add.... external, then internal (failover} This would be a more appropriate choice for environments where the board is restricted entirely or predominantly to employess/m…

I upgraded to IPB 2.3.2 today, but after I finished my upgrade, it seems that the "New Version Available" still shows in IPB 2.3.2 on the Dashboard. Bug? or kinda of an oops?

Member Profiles Customizable just like the YouTube profiles

Is this at all possible to do? It would be a huge improvement if something like this could be used. You Tube has the customizable user profiles where you can put the background colors however you want, or put an image as your background, or change the text style etc... well, why not make the IPB profiles in a similar format. Allow the users to be in complete control of their profile so that it expresses them. Does anyone know if this is possbile or if there's a mod out there for this then, maybe? If so, let me know please. I really think that this should be in the IPB though.

I think it's a bad idea to put a red X to remove a member near the top right. One may accidentally click on it and cause a member to be deleted, if you must have it there, a good option would to ask a confirmation. There is no undo whereas if you validated a member by mistake, you could always delete that member. IMO, I don't think it makes much sense to even have that there, takes space that could be used for other more useful stuff.

Not sure what post_key is but can you put an index on it safely? just one of your sql statements is a select * from xyz where post_key = 'the post key' and this is obviously an expensive sql statement.

Can you change the number of times a highlighted block of content can be formatted to unlimited before it is unhighlighted on the standard text editor and fast reply? 2 is not enough, a lot of members format a block of content more than 2 times and the result is not what they desired. I have been IPB customer for a while, however last time I did not renew my licences because it was hard for me to do all skins, modifications and translations to be able to migrate to new version. Yeterday I wanted o renew my licence and pay $25 as its stated on your web site, however, support guy told me that I can not renew my licences for $25 anymore. AOL and My Invision Board

So for a long time the members at my board who are AOL subscribers cannot access the board through the AOL provided browser they have. They can however access vBulletin and phpBB boards. Why is it that AOL members can't get in using their AOL browsers? I contacted someone before on the phone about this and they said it had something to do with the AOL browser not reading the coding language or something like that. An Idea for IPB

I had a little idea, that when the next version, or next addition to IPB is released it could include something where, when you suspend a member it has a new menu, and new features. I know this isn't supposed to be a big feature to be used, but I think this could help. On the drop down menu where it says: Hours and days a new option could be life, and also you could add another text area that allows you to add a message that will appear when that member trys gaining access to that board again. It occurred to me (from the security updates)that I don't see the version check thing in the IP. Board ACP home screen anymore. I somehow missed the security enhancements thing for a while in the new until some one pointed it out. Is this just an "oops" or was it intentional for it to be dropped in IPB 2.3 compared to IPB 2.2?

This is some thing I really really want. I know there is a mod and I am using the mod but that does not help me with other site that I go to. Going to sites that do not have sigs in profiles makes things harder for me and yes this might sound lazy but instead of just going to some ones profile and viewing the sig I have to go to the profile then go to a post hat person had made and it would be much simpler to just go to the profile and view the siggy. It makes things for me very frustrating going to sites that do not have the old profile view or the mod for sigs in the personal profile.
