In Windows this is known as the "Effective Permissions" tool that can be used to find out what the resultant permissions are on a user for a specific folder. A member in my IPB 3 forum has me instructed that I be settings in the Profile Information make should for him. I can not make this settings for him? Settings for "Enable Profile Comments" "Show my friends in my profile" "Show X latest visitors on my profile?" There should be at least the basic settings for these things in the ACP be selectable can. When A member in my forum can not find the Settings, this understand or need help, I can not help?

Have you guys noticed that when your staff and about to reply to a post you notice this . Don't know if it is just me, but it just seems too cluttered with the topic and post moderation in addition to the standard stuff that members see, it gets cluttered up in that corner. I don't really have a suggestion on how to have it less cluttered but someone else might feel the same way as I do and might have a better idea on how to solve this cluttered area.

IPB 3.0 has very good features for SEO. But the main thing missing is Meta Keywords and Description for Board Index. If a site is complete forum then these are very usefull. I hope you can let us know a way to add that Meta Keywords and Description for Board Index. Thank you

It is not easy to get an good overview when translating longer sets of text. An option to resize or a bigger box with a scrollbar would make it a lot easier.

I was searching a setting restrict certain groups to give out reputation points but I couldn't find any :ermm: It is a must-have setting to have for a reputation system in my opinion :P

I'm not sure where I should have posted this but I already contacted Invision's ticket system and have been waiting for a response. I think they are on holiday break so it's probably gonna be a while before they reply. They replied after my 1st question but have not replied back to my reply to them. I already have an IP Board, I purchased the license back in 2007, a standard license. I Love IPB but one thing that would make is 3 times betetr then what is it today is if you had support for Categories/Sub Categories (Members End) right now we can only setup Categories/Sub Categories thew the admin area. If youhad this our members could setup their own Categories/Sub Categories.

1. I testing the IPBoard 3.0 I turned on FacebookConnect. It works on my Firefox 3.5 at the login screen. But Not on Chrome 2.0.172.33 (latest at this posting), the facebook connect does not show at all. 2. I tested also on my iPhone OS 3.0 browser. It was rendered under the Lo-Fi CSS Mode. It shows FacebookConnect, but there isn't any link or button for me to click that option.

I Love IPB one thing that would make it 3 times betetr then what it is now is a Media Sharing pluggin. I really can't understand why should someone buy a community hosting package with 9,99$/month when you only get 10 users online limitation and 50mb space, and with the same money you can buy website hosting package with 500mb and no limit on the online users of your community..... I'm not an upset customer, please don't get that from this post. I'm just a bit angry right now. I upgraded to 3.0.0 from 2.3.6 and all went fine. After using it for awhile large hiccups came into my way which blocked me from doing some basic functions. I posted the bugs and like 6/8 of them are already fixed. However, now with a live board I have to wait for another build to do basic things such as move members to a different usergroup, edit "IP.Download" files, and leaving custom warn levels. Maybe if the fix doesn't require opening more than 1 file than the fix should be posted? Its a final product and I expect not to have to wait 2 weeks for an update for somethi…

I'm thinking this might need to be discussed as I've seen a few others with this problem... There should be a mention in the requirements / install guide talking about the memory requirements for PHP. for years I had the PHP mem limit set at 16Megs and never a problem...lots of custom programming on my own and otherwise...for the new release of IPB, I kept getting blank pages, and finally traced it down to Allowed Memory Usage Exhausted errors. Once I figured out it was in PHP and not just a bug in the software, it was a relatively easy fix...changed : memory_limit = 16M ; to : memory_limit = 24M ; in my php.ini file and restarted httpd. For one particular forum I am getting users replying to the e-mail notification thinking they are replying to the personal conversation. I know that v3.0.0 is feature locked so not requesting it for that. Hopefully these are simple enough that they can make it into v3.1.0 though. * When you are on someone's profile and click to send them a PM, if you will not be able to complete that PM for some reason (user has their PM turned off for example), notify the user then instead of when they click the "send" button. IP3 looks great. A big learning curve but overall it's impressive. My last remaining issue is how to integrate OpenX and adsense scripts into the site? For example I would love to have the ability to simply put an adsense script in the forum rules area. Same with openx (but for it I need permission-based viewing i.e. guests only). Old upgraded mods that use to work with those scripts don't any more, like DevFuse's 'Guest Message'. That was a workable alternative but now the alternatives aren't working either. How can we integrate those kind of scripts into the board?

I just got back from a week-long trip, and to my surprise IPB 3.0 is out, and so is a new IPS website! I must say, I'm truly impressed. Everything looks beautiful, and I'll be renewing my license shortly :). One question, though; does standard website hosting no longer include an IPB license? I'm fairly sure it did before, or have I just lost it?

I want a feature where can can smell IPB. Of course it'll have to have some sort of hardware either new or pre-existing to do this. There should be way to smell people flaming each other, a pleasant scent for new members who are thinking about joining a forum, and the smell of success when a user reaches a certain post count.

I'm playing around with the demo, and logging into the ACP, I see.... Unlocked Installer Remove admin/install/index.php from your server at once! Leaving it on your server WILL compromise the security of your system. Unfinished Upgrade IPB has detected that an upgrade has not been completed. Your current version is 3.0.0 RC 2, but you have the upgrade routines on your server for 3.0.0. Click here to complete. So, will the upgrade be finished when its ready to be finished? lol

I have about 14 different member groups on 2.3.6. When I upgrade will it automatically create and transfer members to those usergroups or do I have to make usergroup changes after installation/upgrade?
