Hi In my forum I have few VIP member and can you add option only friend list can send Private Message (MP) message all other receive message. Sorry this member don't accept no friendly user. And send copy to admin of message. member VIP have option for can see message or not see all message are not form friendly user. thanks

In previous versions, it was possible to click a link in the permission masks page to preview that permission mask. It seems that this has been removed in 3.0? I found it pretty helpful when creating a new group to be able to verify this was set correctly. In fact, I think it should be something you should get to from the groups page. Let me explain. The way I set up my masks is by having the default 'members' mask give access to the standard forums, and is in use by the Members group. Got to the forum just now, and couldn't login with the credentials that worked yesterday (username and pass). Even my email and pass wouldn't work. But I logged in to Resource and company site with email/pass just fine. Ended up using my OpenID login to get in here. Is anyone else having this happen? EDIT: Good god. Almost ALL my "read topic" markers have been reset to sometime in early July! FURTHER EDIT: And a bunch of them have been reset completely. EVERY post is "new" is some forums.

I realized that members's profiles are ranked separately from the IP.Board on Alexa traffic ranking system. Now I wonder, if profiles are considered as a separate site, it somehow damages the website's traffic rank (which is important for business, and for any others websites). How could this be changed?

It would be helpful in the members tab, left column, to have a quick search field for members. Since I am having to update member titles manually, it would greatly improve the speed of my task to be able to do a quick search from the page I am currently on.

Something has been bothering me about IPB and I'm wondering why certain web browsers "view" or "read" forums powered by IPB differently. What I'm referring to is the fact that, at least in my testing of IPB in various browsers, that Google Chrome & Mozilla Firefox displays IPB software with rounded borders and corners while Internet Explorer and Opera displays IPB with sharp or 'square' corners. It's kind of strange that the IPB software cannot tell the difference between the various web browsers. Is there a reason for this because it's somewhat confusing and strange that IPB is being read different among each web browser.

Would it be possible when a forum enables the performance mode that it shows something to users to let them know what this entails etc - just i get people mentioning why isnt X/Y/Z working and when the forum is active it gets a tiresome answering things - would be good if it just highlighted the forum is in performance mode which disables some normal features etc.

I think it would be a nice features for moderators to be able to set a topic as "PG" we often have topics and jokes threads that are only really suitable for an adult audience but I don't want to remove these outright. i.e. guests have to confirm they are over a certain age before viewing. I know we can restrict registration but I think that this denies people access to the majority of content that is perfectly suitable for all ages.

I have an appeal system on my forums but apparently when a person gets suspended they can't view the forums. It would be really nice if there was a 'Suspended' usergroup that suspended users were demoted to so they could view certain forums. Also, I haven't tested but do members get demoted to the 'Banned' usergroup when they are banned or do they just permanently get suspended?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we can't set avatar limits based on groups, right? I would really like this because I want moderators and administrators to have bigger avatars. I may also want to give bigger avatars to subscribers.

Hello when you make registration you have "Custom Profile Fields" and inside you have show on registration page. Can you add this same option in groups ? I tuned on the "status update" hook in my 3.0.1 board. Recent Status Updates [What's on your mind?] >> 1. The above is the IPB User Interface for Status Update. Somehow the ">>" button encourages curious folks to just press it thinking is will lead to another screen to see. 2. In IPB 2.3.6 we had an option to list active topics for "today", "past week", "past month" and so on. This feature seems to have been removed in 3.0.1 and our members are vouching for that feature. I don't know why that feature has been removed. The only option in IPB 3 is to list the active topics in the past 24 hours. The filter option to get the active topics beyond that is not available in the results page. I have attached a screenshot of that option from 2.3.6. I hope this feature will be added in the future release.

I would like to suggest giving users the option of which hooks they'd like to see in the sidebar. Similar to how the blocks for blogs are now. A drag and drop interface would be nice.

Hi, it's possible make difference in between Closed and Solved Right now Admin & Co can close Topic and you see Red Folder with cross (it's like error or not accepted) But I want give this authorization to my members for close topic. But it's close only and he can't reopen ! Why ? I will want have option for give to my member possibility for have bouton Solved. with cross gray (Like archived) And second option move automatically this topic without alias link in other place. in CP Admin when you make new cat in same time you can define cat Archive place. :)
