Polls could use some improval. I love the fact that you can create several questions within the same topic. However I would like to see some more integration with the topic. For instance, how about letting the users only see the posts after the first post after they have voted? Forcing them to vote? Obviously an option for the user that is creating the poll. Further more, I dislike the use of "forcing functions" when you try to add a new question and you have no more available questions to add. It uses a popup that disables everything else. It would be a lot better if you were to simply grey the button out or let a tooltip appear beneath the button.

Right, so I've just migrated from vB and I'm getting used to the IPB warning system, and I have a few comments. First, it's very handy to have a user's warn history centralized and available in their profile. I'm having staff send their "stop it!" PMs through the warning system, so there's a permanent record of who contacted the member and when. However, the warning logs do not link back to the post the warning was issued for. If we want to find the post in question, we have to manually add the link when we issue the warning. It'd be great if the warning logs linked back to the post, profile, or whatever else that first generated the warning. Second, it'd be nice to…

hello everybody a few suggestions for the report center in IPB 3.1.x i think you guys should add this stuff - Report submitter - in each user profile should be how many reports each members submitted - Show the forums of each report - show who resolved the report this additions could be better for the admins of the forums

Hi, I don't know about other Admins, but I frequently get people (mostly new members), who e-mail a reply directly to an e-mail notification of say a new PM or someone adding them as a friend, sent to me. They seem to get the e-mail notification and then reply to the e-mail, which makes its way to my board's e-mail address, and then onto me. When its a PM reply that contains a copy of previous replies, its a privacy issue. Could this be handled in an improved way? Thanks!

I know I've only submitted my issues with MSSQL in the past day or two, but I've noticed some bugs that have gone unfiled for more than a month... some surprisingly show-stopping bugs. I figured I'll provide a summary to see if I can poke someone to try and get this stuff fixed. This example prevents me from assigning templates to the articles system because of what user Matt (FDNZ) says is a database ID issue. I also can't edit the default article templates because the system reports that there aren't any. adding custom templates doesn't fix this, either. This, in turn, prevents me from changing the templates in the article system. There's also a different bug …

i searched through the documentation for a how to on upgrading IPB but couldn't find one -maybe there is one but i didn't see it- i would like to know how to upgrade without loosing any modifications i made to the script (templates, etc..)

I developed a custom BBCode plugin to perform LaTeX mathematics rendering using [math] tags. According to the custom BBCode plugin documentation, the preferred way to implement this is to use a regular expression to capture all the uses of the BBCode. However, I believe IP.Board already has a well-developed tokenizing BBCode parser designed to work around the shortcomings of regular expressions. Would it be possible to make it easy to hook into the tokenizing parser? For example, it could be possible to call the parser with a tag name and a callback function which is passed the {option} and {content} portions of the tag, returning the replacement for the tag? Hi there, all Admins know about the problems after installation of a new mod that is not in your desired language, For the first Time you translate the mod, thats not so heavy. Cause you have to translate it all. But if the Mod updates and new Language Variables came with it : The Fight begin :) You have to click every Site on the variable block to see is there an empty Variable or not. And in IPS Updates thats the same of cause. :) So Please IPS make it easier for us to search for untranslatet strings in the Language Area. Look&Feel - > Language - > Pick your Mod -> Show untranslatet Strings.. Thank you very much :)

Hey Guys, I have just a few questions, and a bit of feed back. First, I have submitted a ticket over 24 hours ago about my website. Currently, my website is un-usable, and no work can be done on it. How long is the average ticket response time? Is it over a day, or is it because there is a current backlog? If it is over a day, I think everything should be dedicated towards improving the time. Dont get me wrong, I love IP.Board, but small little things add up. Thank you all, and thanks to the support team once my issue has being resolved.

Just wondering about the feasibility of having a features suggestion mega poll - where every new suggestion can be listed and we can all vote once per suggestion if we'd like to see it developed. The results could act as a visual leader-board for new things that people most want to see in IPB - something we can all see and refer to before suggesting new stuff. Hello everyone! So I wanted to edit this small thing that the "reply"-button next to the entries says "quote" instead (for this is what it does) and I found out I can't edit the "master-language", so I added a new one with this minor change. Then I found out that I can't just disable a language, but I would need to delete it. I'd find it better to be able to disable a language if I just don't need it currently instead of deleting and re-uploading it every time something changes. The best thing in my eyes would be to make it like vBulletin (3.8 ;)) in this case. In fact I'd further improve it so you may decide which usergroup has the permissions to access which languag…

Hello everyone! I really like my IP. Suite so far, but there is one thing that comes up a few times a week, it's about the signature-pictures/images and why they have to be uploaded externally now. I'd really like a basci functionality (like for the avatars) to not only add a picture to one's signature but also host it within our own installation. Naturally there should be some settings in the ACP to toggle this on and off as well as setting some restrictions etc. Maybe this could be added in a future version? Regards, Ikadon

I find myself clicking in the address bar, cutting off the end bit of the URL, then pressing return to get back to my site's homepage. Can you please add a link back to the board homepage underneath the ACP login block? Thanks, Shaun :D

I noticed something today. If a member is banned, they cannot change their Email Preferences. This allows an Admin to keep sending emails to them, and they have no way to stop it, as they cannot get into the User CP. Maybe allow banned users to access this?

Well, I've just had the most unusual piece of feedback from one of my new members... but I think they've got a fair enough point. I received an email from a new member, asking: Initially, I thought she was referring to one of the optional questions that I have included as part of the registration process. Oddly, once we upgraded our 3.1.1 dev forums to 3.1.2 we cannot seem to login to ACP with an email address. It only seems to take the username. Loginauth is set to IPB Internal with Username or Email Address. Is there some other setting we should be making? The errors IPB throws up are technically very good - the error codes point to specific issues that are easily identified and diagnosed. However, from an end-user perspective though they're scary and ugly - sorry guys, I just had to get that off my chest. Is there any way we can "friendly" them up a bit, whilst retaining the error code to help diagnose faults / bugs / etc.? How many years is it going to take IPS to include a "Contact Us" form? IPS seems to have locked things down even more for their hosted customers. This is bad example of when upgrades actually stop you from doing what you could do before. I used to be able to change Recent Gallery Images and the Status Updates hooks so my layout was nice and tight. We only have two sections with 6 forums in all, so it is a small list.

there is a feature that i've seen in woltlab burning board and would like to see in IPB it can be very useful for big boards in the admin panel converter section: after entering the source database information you have 2 choices: either run it on the web like most converters or generate a ssh script that does it if you choose the latter a command will appear and all you have to do is run it in ssh i have tested it and i'm confident its made my import at least 10 times faster
