The Old Man
Hi, I don't know about other Admins, but I frequently get people (mostly new members), who e-mail a reply directly to an e-mail notification of say a new PM or someone adding them as a friend, sent to me. They seem to get the e-mail notification and then reply to the e-mail, which makes its way to my board's e-mail address, and then onto me. When its a PM reply that contains a copy of previous replies, its a privacy issue. Could this be handled in an improved way? Thanks!
Biker.GA
What I've done is set up a "null" email address for system generated messages. Any replies go to the "null" mailbox which are immediately deleted. If users can't read the "Do not reply" line in the email, well...... :D
tAPir
I moved the "PLEASE DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY TO THIS EMAIL!" to be the first line and added "This is a board notification." I did that by searching the language file for PLEASE DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY TO THIS EMAIL! and edited the file where it was found. I delete any that find their way into my inbox now :)
Hunting insects...
Often happens and I usually send a polite reply. If members are incapable of understanding "PLEASE DO NOT REPLY...", then any privacy issues are their problem.
The Old Man
Editing the template is a good idea, so is the e-mail address idea of Biker. I might set up an e-mail address with an automatic reply to remind them again. Is the board's incoming or outgoing e-mail address and would it affect any other functionality of the board? Biker.GA
Set up your "null" address and then in AdminCP, change the outgoing address only. :)
