One suggestion I have is an option to allow users to add blocks with custom content to their profiles. This could be something similar to how Blogs work. This will make personal profiles much more interesting I think. Custom content could be: youtube video, text, images, links etc. Another thing that I'm often asked by members of my community is how to change the main blue color of their user profiles. Users are very happy to change the picture background but sometimes the colors of the image they add does not fit to the blue colors (original IPB skin). Not sure if this is possible at all, but it would be nice if users can change the user profile color as well.

When creating a recurring calendar event, lease add a check box for "forever" so I can set recurring revents that don't expire. Thanks.

I would say most site users do not realize the board has color, since it is a really small out of the way icon, at first, even I thought there was no color options for the board. I would say create a nice color panel like phpbb has so that users know and use color options that will make any board that more attractive. also: I am not sure if IPB has signature options, if it does not, then I would say create sig options so admin can allow/disallow signatures by groups/posts. I would also say add a url stripper also, for those that do not allow urls period, as a lot of spammers try to get away with, this extra option could be disabled/enabled by admin to allow U…

Hello IP Staffers I have a quick question if its not a feature already then how about suggestion. Can we get or find out how to set a forum up with topic/reply moderation by group.? Reason I am asking is I would like to have guests post in a forum but moderate what is posted by them but not by registered members can this be done? or can this be ades as a hook or new feature in the next release

This is a feedback on language! Hi! A staff just upgraded to the latest version 3.0.1. Everything went fine I was going to the language section in the ACP. My default language is different from the english one. The first thing that I see is that there is a column called "Out of Date Entries", which is listing the number of strings from the 3.0.0 version. I have to go through every page and click on go (about some hundreds of times now) to update the entries... boring). What surprised me alot is that the system added and upgraded strings without letting me know which one. So I have to go through every string (thousands of entries... very, very, very boring). IPS…

It doesn't make any sense to have the word filter in the "Look & Style" tab. I already see the ban filter in "Memmber Tab" and Word filter should be below "ban filter" in the same tab.

- Emotions bar is bugged if you hold a lot of them. It cuts off the bottom two if its edit post and cuts them half off if its in full editor. - If you recache the skin your using your ACP password resets it seems. It says invalid password.

So I was checking through IPB settings to try and find something to edit the Moderating Team section of the forum... but I just cant find what I'm looking for... Is there a way to add groups to that list? For example it has Admins, S-mod, and Mods. But what if I make a mod group X for X forums. Such as "General Mod" for the general area of the board. Can I display General Mods in the moderating team? And to further this, can there be an option to allow secondary group users to be in each section. So if someone is a general mod and.. say entertainment mod, they are listed for each section despite what their main group is. As long as the setting is enabled for that g…

Suggestion There needs to be some ACP settings to prune old conversations as many members never bother to delete old conversations. For example I would like to remove all conversations older than 12 months. I really shouldn't have to delve into MySQL queries and Unix date stamps to remove old conversations. This then helps keep the database size down. 3DKiwi

Hi, It would be very useful if it was possible to reorder via Drag & Drop like Forums the User Groups in ACP... The problem arise when you create new groups... the best is to have the User Groups from the Best to the Worst or from the Worst to the Best, but if you create new User Groups, then this order dissapear and it creates a little of confusion... Will IPB be looking at differentiating Pinned topics from the rest of the threads/topics in that forum? This is currently the default (3.0.3) and yes, I will be upgrading soon... This is the current Classic Pro skin on my 3.0.3 forum... It's SOOO much easier to tell which are announcements, pinned and normal topics.

Options for Recent Topics and Recent discussions (I was able to use a quick edit to disable the bots by moving them to a usergroup and disabling the display of their topics in the skin, but that broke the amount of topics shown - It now shows 15 MINUS however many bot topics, not 15 member topics.) There should be options for which forums (or even which usergroups) are to be excluded from Recent Topics (index hook) and Recent Discussions (Portal). For example, topics from the spam section (which I do not want to be displayed in the RT/RD areas) are shown. Also, posts from news bots are shown. It's mainly a personal thing, but I can see a lot of uses for it.

Hello, I am just getting started and have a few questions concerning images in new posts... 1) Is there a way to upload an image from a local PC to include in a new post? 2) Can an image be uploaded or embedded in a post rather than just as an attachment. 3) If an image is embedded in a post can it be resized (larger or smaller) 4) If an image is embedded in a post can text flow around it rather than just be on it's own line? Currently I have tried to stop Youtube videos from parsing in ip.shoutbox only, I went through all of the settings, stopped the bbcode from working in the shoutbox but the tags are still attached on the url and does not show as a click able link. Im not sure if this is a ip shoutbox flaw or a ipb flaw, here is a topic I posted in ip shoutbox, the only other option i can think of is to stop automatic parsing of video's but that would happen right across the site. Shoutbox Youtube videos I think the issue is when you disable the media bbcode in the shoutbox it doesn't stop the it detecting it as a youtube video and adding the tags, it just stops the tags from working. …

Hey all the media tags don't work on this forum in Chrome for some reason... If someone puts in a youtube video all I see is the screen shot of the video and if I right click on the video the menu appears all the way at the top of the screen. Oddly enough this only ever happens on the IPS community forums.

I am new to IPB and very impressed so far. One thing I would love to be able to do is duplicate categories so that I don't have to manually re-enter the sub-categories within. Probably best described with an example: I am building a community around swapping things and it will be split geographically: UK, France, Germany etc. So I build my first category, UK and then build all of the sub-categories below that: Books, CDs, Cars, Furniture, etc. This structure will be repeated exactly, for the France, Germany and so on forums. Therefore, I would like to be able to duplicate and rename the UK forum.... I have asked "official support" and they say it is not possible…

As you can see HERE, i would suggest to change the maintitle (background) of the calendar hook. When activate it and show it at the TOP its look like a design mistake (with the very good new look and feel of the sidebar). Now you can change it, Brandon :D :lol:

Good Guys, I'm doing maintenance on a forum that the client reported that he is in trouble in the MP's. He told me the following, as it sends a message to the user who receives the message X is the user that X + Y being deactivated conferences mp and still going wrong. Do you follow? He sends MP for one person, that person receives but another person also receives, without her name be addressed! Happens or has happened that mistake with someone? I already redid the upload folders: admin\applications\members\modules_public\messaging admin/applications/members/sources/classes/messaging. And nothing. Thanks!

Don't know what everyone else thinks about the new default dashboard setup, but I hate it. This isn't meant as a rant but I don't like the new setup. What I liked about the previous version, is that when I logged into my forum ACP, the first thing I would see, is how many members I had, how many posts were made and how many User Accounts were locked. These were useful links that I always took advantage of and I had the ability to unlock those accounts right away. Instead, what do we get? Links to various news items at the IPS website. While I'm sure that someone thought it was a great idea, I don't like the new setup. Now? Not only do I forget about locked account…
