Hello there, currently I'm planning a site where I add articles at specific dates. As they are not only "news" but rather some other kind of information, I will most probably write/create them beforehand to publish them at a specific date. Now, sadly IPS Products are not capable of doing so (apart from the feature in IP.Content that is not working correctly until the next version). It would be great if I could not only add articles to IP. Content at specific dates, but also add corresponding threads (for discussion, or votes), downloads, products, images and even new sites (with IP. Content). Any news on what actually happened today that caused the IPS hosting servers to go down? My site is on server 34 so it was down for a few hours. I was just curious if there was a reason behind the DoS attack.

Many internet marketers are looking for a solution for their "drip system." A drip system to those that are unfamiliar with this is a type of content system where files and content are automatically released on a "drip" system, as in, they are periodically made available automatically. I have always wondered why Poll/Pinned/Moved prefixes are a setting in ACP :huh: This is bad for multi-language forum that cannot use a different word for each language, you might want to move those 3 lang strings in the lang files instead :whistle: EDIT: This is probably more a suggestion than a bug so I posted there, let me know if you want me to open a bug report on that :P

Hello i have few ideas how you guys could improove the board: 1. Add a possibility to add/change a Forum icon "IconMod" by default. 2. Add a ActiveUsers list sort method (By group(custom order), By name, By session time etc.). 3. Add SubForums(ForumView) list expand/collapse toggle button its really annoying with forums which has alot of subforums + topics when you have to scroll alot. 4. Hello community, as I found this thread about "xenForo" in your off-topic section I went to see this new "messiah" (:rolleyes:) of all boards. Well, I must say there are a few things that seem more logical to me. For example the "topic preview". While in IP.Board we have to hover over the row of the thread and then click this small image, in xenForo you just need to hover over the actual link to the thread to display a topic preview. To me this is much more logical and user-friendly. I mean, I know what this little icon is about, but most of my users didn't even know that IP has something like a topic preview-function. Suggestion: Have an AdminCP option that hides the age of members in all areas of the board including the "Today's Birthdays", "Calendar", and "Member Profiles" (the year). Very important for kids communities... If you doubt me in how important this is I could always have an entire community register and say so :whistle:... Should be extremely simple to do... Just want to prevent some weird internet stalkers from going after kids... (in any way I can).

I appreciate that you guys added a topic preview and that you tried to make it a more advanced feature than most sites, but having to find the image on the far right and then clicking it is no more convenient than actually opening the thread itself. Sometimes, easy does it. In this case, I'd recommend something similar to vBulletin's topic hover feature.

I did open a post under support, but as I did not get a reply, asssume it is not possible. It would be nice to have a couple of extra quick tags for bulk email Members Email - so we can add who we sent the email to (often people have aliases or fowarding accounts so not obvious) Login Name - so we can let them know their login name Both of these would assist in getting a new password if they have lost theirs as my short experience already shows that people get confused and try and enter their display name or wrong email address to retrieve a new password

Please allow members to modify (remove) the vote later. For example if a member accidentally use the wrong button or if the member gets an explanation later and realizes it shouldn't be given a negative point, the member should be able to remove the vote given. Please consider this feature request for IP.Board 3.2

When you use the IP.Board search, click on any search result and later go back to the search results, you must klick a button like "send form again" (see screenshot, but on german). When you give every search a ID (session?) we dont have that problem. Translated to english: I think you know what i mean.

Hello, I think that before creating user from Facebook (Facebook login) one should approve registration terms, just like normal registered users do. Right now you don't have to approve terms if you're logging from Facebook, think such users should do it as well.

We have year of 2010 and i think that this is a right time to change this. I don't want to make any kind of custom mod for this because i believe that this should be in default invisionpowerboard code. Hi there ! I'm using IP. Board on a pretty big community (28,000 members, 2,000,000+ posts), and some of my members are asking me the same functionnality : would it be possible to take notes on other members ? Members are indeed talking to hundreds of others, and it is difficult to remember who's who, especially when members choose to change their display name. So we think that it would be a nice improvement to add the ability to write notes for members. These notes would be very easy to write and to read (in the the user pop-up for instance). That's it ! Thanks :)

Hello IPS staffers! I have recently came acros a problem on my community. I have alot of friends and like most admins would like to keep track of all of them BUT I was thinking how about ether a friends tab in the profile page. or a "See All" link with the top 5 or 10 most recent addons to your friends list.

I was thinking how cool it would be if each member could specify the order of the member side bar in addition create an additional "hook" system that allowed for developers to create "side bar widgets" so members could add things to their side bars that forum admins allow. Obviously you'd still give forum owners control over specifying if a side bar was required and where to put it (for example an ad or donation side bar obviously the forum admin won't want you to be able to remove that). Also possibly add in a left side bar, I realize there are some apps out there that will do that, but it'd be nice to see it as an official IPS thing. I'm fairly sure something lik…

I'm curious about the community doing all the languages. I think it would help this product a lot more if IPB staff took over development on languages. It would further increase people on the forums. (Not saying for the current staff to do it, but hiring others to do language translations if your not yet already) I was looking around and saw this back end server translator. Basically this: http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/289757-changing-a-default-member-option/ I think the ACP should allow us to decide whether friend requests are accepted by default, or whether they require the user's permission. At a minimum, I think Invision should change the "stock" setting so that it defaults to requiring approval. This will be more familiar to most users, since most other software that I can think of ask's for the user's approval before granting someone "friend" access. (That is, I think, the entire point of a "friend" system.. so the current arrangement seems quite backwards to me.) Thank you.

I love everything that IP.B does for SEO but we need a canonical tag on the index page. Right now going to example.com/forum and example.com/forum/index.php returns the same page. For people who have switched to IP.B from other software this could be a problem because by default IP.B uses the "/forum" URL but our previews preferred URL might have included the index. This means we won't have all our link juice going to one page and Google could even flag us for duplicate content (other pages like example.com/forum/blablabla also show the index). I would prefer a 301 redirect to the index page, but if not it shouldn't be too hard to put a canonical tag in the homepage's hea…

Im using IPB 3.1.2 And I keep trying to add a new group "Diet Moderators" And it dsoent work, I get this even when I try and edit a group There appears to be an error with the database. If you are seeing this page, it means there was a problem communicating with our database. Sometimes this error is temporary and will go away when you refresh the page. Sometimes the error will need to be fixed by an administrator before the site will become accessible again. You can try to refresh the page by clicking here Please help.
