Just wanted to say thanks, I've been into web development now for 6 years and now whenever I think of creating a new website the first things that pop into my head are "I need a user authentication system... IP. Content" then "Let's see... Nexus for my cart" and then "IPB for the community" : )... You've just made me efficiently lazy... why remake the wheel when you've already done it? I even built a dev. website that used IPB and IP.Content just because I wanted a good CMS and yet never used the IPB side at all. Either way... you've made me quite happy.

Hi, If you have a World of Warcraft account, you can log in to their forums and highlight a word or phrase in a thread, which will pop up a "Quote" option just under the highlighted text as long as you have posting privileges. When you click "Quote", it of course copies the highlighted text to the compose new message box with the relevant quote tags surrounding it. I believe that this functionality would be a benefit to IPB if it can be duplicated in this software.

Hi I have found a critical bug and a very important missing feature from the IPB conversion script, when converting the message icons from SMF to Post icons in IPB. That feature has been altogether ignored, which is a really big disappointment. My SMF forum has over 20,000 topics and my members have always used the customized message icons that i have set up to describe the genre of their topics, so the conversion of these message icons to Post icons in IPB is of supreme importance. Currently, this is the only bug that is preventing me from buying this software. I hope that someone from the IPB staff will update the conversion script to consider the message icons from S…

I believe how things should work is... Gallery If I'm in IP.Blog, or IP.Board or anywhere, if I am creating a post I should be able to add an image that upon clicking add image it would bring up my gallery and would add this new image to the gallery but still post to that new post. If I was adding an existing image, I could click on Add Image and browse existing galleries I have permissions to view and click on the image(s) I wanted to add to that post. Now if I want an image in my post I have to go to Gallery, upload the photo, copy the link, then create the post and paste the photo's link in my post. Most people don't think about attaching a photo or image until…

Hi there We regularly use the warn system to punish members who are breaking the rules, it's great as the moderators can ban members as well as admins. However, one of our punishments to members who spam the forum to get to a 250 post count (so they can sell Classifieds), is to reduce their post count. To save time for admins doing this, it would be nice if you could add this to the warn system, so that they can do it also. Reason being it is quite a regular job to have to do, so would save a lot of time and effort. Please reply to let me know whether this is a likely feature to be added? :) Thanks Steve

First, I want to say that the status update feature is very popular on our board. Sometime for the wrong reasons too. For some reason, no feature on my board is more popular or less controversial. it's a real love-hate relationship that has been driving me bonkers. I would like to suggest that this feature be developed to include more admin and member controls. For example: 1) If someone is on ignore it would be best if the ignore blocked the status update from view too. 2) The collapsable toggle only works for the moment, and once someone comes back to the board index the status updates are back. I'm using the new Like system in my Tutorials application, but when people Like an article, they only get the option to get a notification about one type of action that may occur. I chose to have the Like system be able to notify people when articles they like get a new comment, but people may also want to get a notification when an article the like is updated. Would it be possible to support multiple notification types for Liked files in a future version?

I was very surprised not to see an updated (or at least complete) language pack in Spanish for IPB anywhere, so I started translating myself. I really feel the profiles need to become more simplified and meaningful. That is, they do technically 'work' for now and can be tweaked for certain needs of a coder, but it should be simplified for the whole aspect of a better product. Right now you can make status updates and have people comment on them. Then there's another area for your recent actions. And then there's comments which doesn't reflect any similar flow as the Status updates (no threaded replies). I think things should be sorted in one feed, or maybe two. But generally one feed. The thing I hate most about promoting people to admin is setting up their permissions. It would be nice to have various features on these pages. One being "Select All" at the very top to select everything (der). Another being a "Select all in this group". Now, many people may say "but I don't want them to have "THIS". But if we had a select all and then just deselect what we don't want them to have, it would make life so much easier and far less clicking. It would make the process more streamlined. Though, you don't do this often, but when you do, it's annoying as all h***.

The warning area has been progressively getting better, but it could be better by adding two more features : delete and edit (and the corresponding ACP-settings to determine if mods can delete/edit their warnings, or if global mods can, or if only admins can). Sometimes warnings can be given by mistake, or have something to add, or was accidentally assigned one warning point and 10 was meant.

I should be able to click on one or more Multi-Quote buttons and then when I click in the Fast Reply pane, the quotes should be inserted. I do know that if I click on Use Full Editor I will get the quoted text, but I see no reason that a little AJAX couldn't retrieve the quoted text in setting up the Fast Reply editor pane.

On my site, we have various warnings/infractions worth certain points. So that way saying a cuss word is worth 1 point and someone flaming a staff member is worth 7. Now, we have around 15 things that if people do something, they receive x points. It's hard for my staff to refer back and forth from one page to the next to determine what they deserve. And then looking at the point total they currently have + points given, then looking at our break down as to when they reach x point they receive x days of suspension...well it gets rather cumbersome and I think the software could do this very easily and make the life of all forum owners much easier. Editing moderators permissions in IPB is very awkward and difficult. As far as I know there is no easy way to say add or remove the ability for all moderators to see IP addresses or use the soft-delete options. For security one should be able to restrict al moderators easily or give them new powers when new features are introduced to IPB. Heck it is even difficult to add and find out who moderates which forum, as whilst through a combination of clicks one can display the moderators as soon as you edit one, they all vanish so one has to resort to opening in new tabs.

Is it possible to not Change our Lic Key for ip.Board when we renew? I had an active lice and came up to be renwed and it renwed, i wasent aware that my key changed and thus preventing my spam services and such to not work. i found out today after i gotta alot of new members that wasent chacked agianst the spam :( Just a suggestion :)
