You would think there are enough ways to get to your pms, but believe me, they're not obvious. My general users are having a tough time navigating to the user cp and finding their pm list. (I'm afraid they're going to find setup of that notification drop-down to be too confusing.) And why should they do all that clicking to find a very, very commonly used feature? Suggest Personal Messages be a link in the user drop-down (whatever it's called) up there in the top right of the screen.

Hi, When you enter the ACP, the header section says... IPBoard Admin It would be nice if this could display the site name as well. When you have more than one site, it would be nice to be able to tell easily which site ACP you are in. I know it is in the URL, but with more than one open at a time it would avoid editing the wrong site. Thanks. (oh and I assume one has to alter files to change this, as I cannot find a template for it (mind you never looked before now))

Actually Boards that allows both positive and nevative reputation shows in each post the sum of two values. But a post with 18 positive reputation and 15 negative reputation is not equal to a post with 3 reputation given. Some sites i follow shows each value: a comment with high positive rating is a Top post, a comment with high negative is marked as "spam" or similar. A post with both is a "high debate" comment. A marked post can be showed with particular background colors or effects to make it more visible. I think that this modification could be easy duplicating the rep_point field in reputation_cache table. rep_point_positive and rep_point_negative store two dif…

I noticed members who can Soft Delete but cannot Hard Delete posts in a topic can still see the "Delete Now" button for Hard Delete. I think it would be better if its disabled/removed completely for those members who can't use it to stop it from being a bit confusing? Ted.

Hello. I am running at moment a forum hosted by a website and i am using IP Board when i login admin ACP. I am substaining a huge lag period when i click in anything in forums and that's mainly because of its "heavy" structure. I have seen the same forum structure at a site that doesn't lag at all and i found out responsible is Gzip. As i searched i found out that Gzip compresses files and when you click in something that f.e is 100KB with gzip it comes to you like compressed file of 10KB and that makes the lag period cut down to minimum! You will see the difference by checking www.l2sublimity.com (with gzip) and mine brothersinarm.zobyhost.com (without gzip). I would l…

Would it be possible to have an option with the Twitter/Facebook Connect to set it so only certain groups can use for example I would like to use it but for admin only, or is this already possible and I've missed it?

I don`t want to go every time into my notifications to mark them all as read. So could you add Mark All Read in the dropdown menu? Could you make something like this? :

It would be great if we had more control over our title tags for SEO purposes. As per my thread here: http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/323344-removing-forum-name-from-title/ For me, removing the forum name from topic titles has given me better results. Currently it's a manual edit. It would be awesome if we could have an option. Thanks

I would like to suggest a feature that allows admin/mods to exclude individual members from a topic. Stops them from participating any further. (Assuming there isn't a mod for this already - I can't seem to find one?) There are many times when we have to lock threads because one or two people are arguing - which spoils it for everyone else. It would be great to be able to exclude the thread-spoilers and allow the discussion to continue without them. Cheers, Shaun :D

I'd recommend adding an optional coice of adding a custom site google search when using ADVANCED search function. Find some nice way to introduce that google search. search is not the strongest part of IPB, so I think its fair that google search should be utilized.

I upgraded my board 3.0.x to 3.1.3 about 2 weeks ago and i thought its some bug with 3.1.x. Unread notifications does not mark as read after checking contents. today i upgraded my forum to 3.1.4 and all notifications are still there. I just checked tracker and found out its not a bug and its designed to be like that. and its really annoying. right now i have at-least 10 notifications in sidebar hook since last 2 days. also there are 20 notifications number in user bar on top. I'm thinking if its not designed to like that then why its called "Unread" Notifications. So can you please change the setting and its should mark notification read after checking contents or …

"Because we have used a plugin system," Now I'm loving IPB 3.2.0 blogs that are coming out I believe it to be a great improvement with the products thus far. But I'm a little concern, I wanted to know if IPB will be going down the road of having Plugin Apps that will be for sale and slide away from full blow apps that people buy now? I would hope it will not going down the route. Thanks

I see you released a new version of prototype.js. The updated file uses the same filename meaning that many users will not see the update due to the old file being cached in their browsers and the updated file has the same filename. Seems to me that it would be much more friendly to add a version tag to all loaded Javascript files (and CSS files and even the style_image files). The ACP could have a "check for updated cacheable files" operation that scans the directories containing such files (looking for newer version tags) and remembers these version tags to use when emitting html references to these files. Then, when a user visits, they are guaranteed to be using t…

First off, our community is one dedicated to all kinds of horrendous coding (some by new users, some by great coders) so nearly every post has some form of code related tag (sql, php, c++, c, C#, perl, java, javascript, lua, basic blah blah). Personally, you can keep all the features like farcebook, twonker and all that other rubbish, but is there going to be a major rethink on the bbcode formatting for [ code ] tags and the hideous use of prettify? At least a system that doesn't meltdown low spec machines. For instance, I use [Alex Gorbatchev] syntaxhighlighter v2 (there is a v3 but...) which causes no meltdowns, looks great, is customisable and can also be contained i…

The ability to sign up via twitter and facebook accounts is great. I have a number of people who have used the facility and become regular members. The problem that needs improvement is the residual automatic inclusion of status updates. Nothing infuriates my members more than a random status update from a member who has recently signed up but not posted. Usually the comment is way off the subject matter of the site and no-one feels they know the person commenting well enough to be able to interact with them. This setting needs to have the ability for the admin to choose whether it kicks in automatically during twitter registration or not, rather than the curre…

Do you remember the days when there was a forum for reporting bugs? You know, before the bug tracker? Well the bug tracker has definitely helped out in making bug tracking more efficient.... But feature suggestions are still kept in the feedback forum. A few dozen people may reply to it, but that topic quickly fades away. A suggestion isn't really taken seriously unless enough people post other topics suggesting the same thing, or staff take particular interest in a suggestion. Another problem is that people tend to lump multiple suggestions in one topic. What I'm suggesting is a new community project, or extension to the existing tracker, for suggesting features, much …

A simple question: is it possible to lock my personal private message box, so nobody is allowed to send me pm, or maybe per user-group, with a message that states my will to refuse any private contact with users? I didn't see this option, but..who whows? maybe it's inthere, and I simply didn't see it.

The current search feature is incredibly frustrating. I would like users to be able to search the entire site using the search box. Unfortunately the search box will only search the area the user is currently viewing, and can only target searches at any one IP feature (Pages, Board, Calendar, etc.). I've been told that it could be a performance issue. That should be left up to me. Please develop a global search feature.

There is no easy way at the moment to translate settings for applications as they are stored in a (Gallery for example) /xml/gallery_settings.xml file and are not in the language manager. I could manually edit the xml but this would not be good for support or upgrades.

Something that I believe would be of great use would be to implement one of a few ideas for enhancing the permission masks system. As is, they are useful and offer a great amount of access control. However sometimes it can be more or a problem than a solution. Thus, these following ideas. 1. Ability to 'hide' masks. If a mask is selected as being hidden, then it would still be available for use and would perform its functions, but in certain areas, the hidden masks wouldn't appear. For example, let's say that I create a permission mask to grant access to a particular forum, gallery and other section of the community. I've set it to be a part of a selected group an…

At the moment exporting and importing skins is an annoying process, requiring you to download and upload 3 files. Could this be simplified such that it can be done with just a single file?

Really, I do! I mean, I come back after some time and am welcomed with preview posts (in the blog) and wow... Lots of awesome improvements! I nearly felt the need to cry in joy, as a UI developer part of me has seen the usability (semi-minor) faults of the current IPB but am now being fixed with 3.2. And I mean, the live topic feature? Wow, didn't even think of that ever happening. It's basically showing even more devotion to the user experience, and I love it! "We're also taking full advantage of modern techniques to ensure that IP.Board has more of an application feel by eliminating page reloads and using rich web technologies." Best thing ever. Seriously, thank you…
