The IPS team has done, in my opinion, some stellar work to make this new iteration accessible for people who want to or need to have multilingual sites. Translation is a doddle, and I love that descriptions for categories, menu items, on-screen messages, products etc are customisable depending on the language that the user selects. This is all excellent and was the major factor in my decision to hold off on developing our web suite until IPS 4 is released, since my site must be available in two languages. There is, however, room for improvement. Some of it might even be a deal-breaker for me since it relates to core site infrastructure. Consider the following on my site.…

Hi, In your recent releases of IP.Board, you featured integration with MailChimp's transactional system "Mandrill". We signed up and are very happy with the service and company - so much so that we are now using MailChimp for our monthly newsletters. As I was browsing through MailChimp's system, I came upon an area called "Integrations" - other companies that have integrated their software with MailChimp. An example of this is PayPal. When a user makes a purchase on PayPal, their email address can be automatically imported into a particular MailChimp list via their API. Basically, right now, you open a page, click notification, it loads a couple of seconds and you see your notifications. This is from the Netherlands, I am going to assume it is instant in some countries and takes 5~ seconds in others. I would like to suggest that, when you load a page, it immediately starts loading the notifications and then reloading notifications in the background adding notifications as they come. I believe notifications are integral to serving the "facebook generation" that relies on content being given to them, opposed to searching for it. I'd really like for notifications to be a quick, instant check for everyone.

On the page that takes you to, it would be nicer if the various headings on the left of that page stand out more, compared with the sections under them. Also it would be nice if we could set individual defaults for which one of them is selected by default. I guess for it being called my activity, it's best to have it showing activity, but all I know is I miss having it default to topics. Also, even with topics there, I still miss it being the 3.x way, where you can see all topics you've posted in and quickly get to your last read post in those, not just the ones you started. If "posts" was displayed a bit differently, that could be the same as the way I liked. Just needs …

Hi, The Knowledgebase is really useful to keep up to date with, for example Rhett's guidance on dealing with the non-responsive mobile skin and changes to Google's bot, or the updated Youtu.be Media BBCode which many site Admins will miss. However there is no way to keep up to date with new content other than visiting the page which seems odd. Please can you add a 'Follow or Subscribe' option so we can receive an email notification of new articles? Many thanks!

Hello, I converted my forum punbb in IPB 4 RC5 and most is ok but the problem is that there is no permanent redirect from old topics URL (punbb) to new topics URL (IPB4). How can i do ? Tks a lot for your ideas !

I tried to unfollow a Topic. Couldn't find where to do so. It's not even a button, can look like plain text and is hidden on the button under preferences. This should be right at the top when you click on the follow button so you can follow/unfollow easily - or even some type of toggle switch.

How long does it take for our ACPs to be updated with the current A new update is available!? I see that RC6 is out, but mine still says RC5a. I want to take advantage of just the changed files, I've never tried that option.

With the move to the suite, many members and staff have usernames, as well as the display name (we use display name as default). However, is it possible to set articles as "real name" rather than a username or display name?

At the point in time that you have doodled your thoughts with dry erase markers on the walls of IPS for items on the feature plan, it would be nice to have a link on that particular feature that in that database to an "Open Discussion" in the forums (or some comment system ) regarding the intent of the feature – when you are actively soliciting feedback - before the code is set in concrete. Focused perspectives from the community may round out the feature, or at least allow ample insight for immediate goals and foundations for future expansion of the feature to satisfy the quorum.

Please bring back the option for everyone to View Display Name History. THe people on my site change names a lot and other like to be able to see who was whom. Or, if someone wants to build a mod, I'll be happy to pay a few bucks for it. Thank you

Hi, I think a great feature would be to have the possibility to make a forum anonymous. A place where users can post but their user-name and information is not shown, they are completely anonymous. If you have a forum where users know who people are (like mine) this would be great to let them discuss more sensitive things. Regards, Nils

The tag shape looks like the back button on mobile. I clicked an IP.Board tag thinking I was going back and it was the tag. Just FYI, not a huge deal, but I can see others doing it.

Because the way it is now with 100% width on the embeded iframe, it's really bad when using the forum with fluid width layout, you can barely see all the video interface. it's too much, maybe a max-width with the fluid option on?

The "back to" arrow at the top is not cutting it. One level deep. Some forums you need to know where you are as far as deep sub-forums. Example: If you are in the 3.x sub-forums here, let's say in IP.Board, you can't tell what top section you are in... 3.x or 4. Some of my forums have area sections, and members won't be able to tell if they are in Alaska or Hawaii when reading the post. Is it possible to get a breadcrumb?

When viewing from an iPad, the sections on the left take up too much space. If narrower, it would provide much more space to see the results on the right.

In the forums a hover over a topic will display a card of the first / last post and glimpse of the body. Shouldn't Database entries (like bug tracker) provide the same view controller.

Doing a test upgrade, which I have been working on all day, it is very hard to do with consent "COULD_NOT_WRITE_FILE " Location: Step 7 1. Application: Core This happens on Members and now is happening on POLLS. It can run for 5 mins or 30 seconds. I can not see any reason for it to stop. MySLQ is running just fine. I click RETRY and it picks up where it left off, but for how long? You can not do this without sitting at the computer all the time. Any thoughts into this guys? Thanks
