I thought this was a bug but apparently it is by design. All content types, when there are (0) comments/replies, say (0), except for Topics, which says (1) comment, as it counts itself as a comment. This causes clicks as people think they have a comment. This happens in New Content >> All New Content, but not in New Content >> Topics, My Activity, or in Forums, where the language changes to replies and it correctly says (0). Blogs and all the other content types correctly say (0) comments when there are none, but IPS says: Of course it can, it can say 0. Like the other content types. Rhett at IPS posted an article about upgrading from 3.x to 4.0, and I will assume it was done to be accompany the IPS "official" 4.0 Suite announcement. In the article are the disappointing facts about Friends to Followers but the big shocker is the final note: There are many community board software products on the market. I always felt that IP.Content was the one thing that truly differentiated IP.Board from it's competition. is there a way to convert to a subscription base to continue to use the forum? We have a club, one of the benefits of club membership could be to join the forum. We want to be able to remove unpaid members from using the forum. would you suggest a feature on the IP board or strategies for regulating the member usage? If this feature is available what do you recommend to convert to a subscription based forum membership?

1. After removal of the tags in the admin panel, they are still saved in the forum topics. Then I have to go into each topic and delete tags there. It is not comfortable. 2. I need to sort the tags, for example, by popularity or alphabetically. I do not understand by what logic is now displayed tags in the theme. 3. As my site posts a lot of scripts or codes, it seems that IPB have dropped the ball on a small item that seems to be on all over boards. As reported in support, there is NO scroll bar for code. Means if a long guide with code added, you have to scroll down loads of the page and post to view it. Other sites i`m on has the code in a nice box inside the post with the scroll bar.

I am appalled to learn that Commerce doesn't allow us to send an email or PM to all clients or all clients that bought a specific product or all clients with an active product. This is really stupid and unacceptable. For example, if we want to run a promotion to our current paying users, there is no easy way to let them know.

When I am in a category and need to individually select images to move to other albums, I've encountered multiple difficulties that I hope IPS will address. This one goal has revealed multiple workflow and UIX difficulties in IP.Gallery. Where shall I begin: When I select an image to move, I can't move into a new album. I can only move into an existing category / album. This, by itself, brings up a workaround that I need to create an album in advance - but oh wait, in order for me to create an album, I am forced into another workaround to upload a token image. Having now seen firsthand just how much less control we have over things in Pages compared to IP.Content in 3.4.x I feel like slitting my wrists after the upgrade. I now have to relearn an entire ecosystem of making templates and have pretty much thrown years of block development for my site down the drain. Honestly, I don't think that I will bother learning how to do things in Pages that were so simple to modify via HTML in 3.4. I'm just super disappointed in this product. I wouldn't advise anybody who has spent years building up a site with pages, blocks and databases on 3.4 to upgrade to 4.x. You lose too much and you gain nothing.

In ACP, it should be possible to delete all PMs sent by a member(/spammer/scammer) (or, even better, to just eject all members from the PM without deleting it, for evidence purposes). It is currently possible to achieve it using the following SQL query: UPDATE core_message_topic_user_map SET map_user_active=0 WHERE map_topic_id IN (SELECT mt_id FROM core_message_topics WHERE mt_starter_id IN (1234)) Where 1234 is the member ID of the member who has been sending the PMs, but it would be much easier to have a button to run it automagically.

I noticed that AJAX calls don't refresh the ads. I have ads setup to show after first topic and first post. AJAX allows the users to move to the next page without reloading the whole page which is great but it also means that those new pages don't generate new views effectively bringing down revenue. I know AJAX pagination can be turned off but I'm wondering if there is a way to keep AJAX pagination and perhaps set individual ads to reload even with AJAX pagination?

some things make sense to edit 'inline' with a popup style interface but when there is a lot of data to enter or review like the Editing your profile, this user experience isn't ideal. I would like to see a switch so admin can decide how to present the edit profile - In a popup or a full window. if its a full window this would also restore the means to give someone a url that when they click on it or enter it into a browser (when logged in) it will display THEIR profile page - something we lost with the popover.

I think that would be great to show topic tags in topics blocks. In database recods plugin blocks we can show tags, but in topics plugin we cannot. It is also a matter of software consistency.

Since our upgrade to 3.3 I've had a number of members complain about the lack of setting for number of posts per page to show. Is this setting (on a per user basis) still hiding away someplace, or is it completely gone? Any chance of getting it back? I don't want to increase it for all readers due to increased server load, but if 0.1% of my readers want to see 100 posts per page that won't affect anything, and it makes them happy.

What I mean by this I have had that giant red "Upgrade" box at the top of my board for the past few months. I am currently unable to renew my licence right now. and I had to do something to get it to stop showing. There should be some security fixes for unlicensed members so we can get rid of the upgrade box. or add a close button.

Sorry if this was suggested before. Pages should have a full breadcrumb tree if they're inside folders. It doesn't make sense to see "Home > [page name]" in the breadcrumbs view. For instance, I have a page called "mapratings" inside a hierarchy of folders: [site root]/games/renegade. The breadcrumbs should read: "Home > Games > Renegade > Map Ratings"

Currently users can add whatever they want in the signature. For forums that require users to have a simple and short signature, it would be great to have options to restrict embeds like videos, images and certain font sizes.

Could you add some options to the Editor class to allow us to override which version of the editor should be used and to disable the upload facility please. When creating an instance of the editor on a form it would have been nice to be able to specify options like: 'editor' => array( 'layout' => 'phone', 'attachIds' => array( false ) ) etc Thanks

I started translating IPB v4 and really miss an option to filter untranslated strings by app. There's an option to sort by app but could really use a button to show only untranslated strings from gallery for example.

I was excited about this function, I've literally suggested it since I started using IPS and came from vB (where you can close polls with a time), so over 5 years. It's been at the top of my list. The new function is a disappointment. To close a poll you have to manually close it. I run contests and close polls after 48 hours. Many people do the same, or run general polls that they state will be open x days, etc. Time sensitive polls are the norm. Before this, I'd been locking topics with a time and linking to the new topic to "close" the poll. But now: I can't set the poll to close AND... If I set a time for the topic to lock, the poll does not close anymore …

For the uploads folder, we currently have the format of... monthly_07_2014 monthly_08_2011 monthly_08_2012 monthly_08_2013 I'd like to propose that IPS changes over the the ISO-8601 standard. YYYY-MM-DD. This would make organizing things far better. Visual comparison of MM-DD-YYYY vs ISO-8601 YYYY-MM-DD: I hope this kind of change can be made and offer a quick/easy converter too. I see this has been a thing since around 2015, though I think a converter would still be beneficial for prior years.
