  1. Has it ever been suggested in the past or has any thought been given to, when using the option where admin need to manually approve new registrations, rather than just having APPROVE and BAN only to also have something such as REJECTED with the option for admin to include a custom message to explain why it has been rejected. At the present time we get around this by having a REJECTED member group. Should we find a profile which for whatever reason is not one we would approve but by the same token is not one we would ban, rather than just deleting it we place it into the REJECTED member g
  2. Prior to version 4 when a site member was banned or flagged as a spammer their profile was placed into the BANNED member group automatically. With the release of version 4 by default this member group no longer exists with banned members being included in the sites default member group. While a banned member cannot access the site we have found that with them now being included in the sites default member group all banned members are included when sending out Bulk Emails. Perhaps some consideration might be given to going back to how banned members were managed in version 3 so tha
  3. EXACTLY. The above reasons as to why another site member might want to report a member profile are far more than just mentioned above. As has already been mentioned what about someone behaving badly in the chat room. There is no content such as a forum post to report. It was all too easy prior to version 4 and this is another thing that is now sadly missing from IPB.
  4. In all previous versions of the Calendar with the RSVP to Calendar events, the event host and admin had the option to remove any person who was not welcome at that particular event. Sadly this option that has been available in all previous versions is no longer available in version 4. We recently had it happen on our site that one of the members who had RSVP’d to one of the Calendar Events was permanently banned due to their behaviour. While it is possible to delete all their content from the Admin CP there is no way for either Admin or the Event Host to remove this person from the R
  5. REPORTING A MEMBER PROFILE Something that we did not really take much notice of and never thought much about until we had some of our members commenting about it and using the SUPPORT SYSTEM or the CONTACT US link to get in touch with us in regard to another member behaving in an inappropriate way. Something that is now sadly missing from version 4 and which has been present in all previous versions was the link at the bottom of each Member Profile TO REPORT THIS MEMBER. For sites like ours which is all about our members and their interaction should a member be behaving in an unac
  6. Something we have found, we can enter the full display name of a member who we know into the SEARCH TERM box of the Member Search on the public side of the site and it returns a NO FIND (search01.jpg) If we then go to the Admin CP and enter the same Display name into the Member Search exactly as it was entered into the member search on the public side of the site we get a result (search02.jpg). We then tried copying and pasting the Display Name from the Admin CP Member search into the SEARCH TERM box of the Member Search on the public side yet it still returned a NO RESULT. If we a

  8. The member search tool that is available to admin via the admin CP is much as it used to be in previous versions only then it was available to ALL members and not restricted to Admin only via the Admin CP. As it is already in place for admin would it be possible to just have it so that the same search is available to all rather just admin only, as it used to be in previous versions. There seems to be little point in a site where its members can not easily connect with each other. We have noticed that many of members end up getting frustrated trying to use the search as it is to
  9. Could not agree more. A major part of our site revolves around our members being able to search for and connect with other members who are local to them or have similar interests etc. Often all they way want is to be able to search by Gender and location which is next to impossible to do with how it is at the present time. It used to fairly good in version 3 but is next to useless in version 4 and we are continually getting complaints about it from our members. The Member search available to Admin via the Admin CP is good and much as it was in version 3. We really are left wondering why th
  10. Have found the same. We get a constant stream of complaints from our members complaining about how useless it is trying to search for other members by Post Code, Location or Interest etc all of which are custom fields we use. It used to be very good in version 3 and all our members liked it using it often. The search provided in the Admin CP is good also, pretty much how the search was in version 3. The current Member search as it is at the present time was a big step backward. With most of the complaints we are often asked why can we not go back to how it was. We Wonder why they h
  11. Our Forums use a number of custom member profile fields. A large part of our site revolves around the Member Profiles providing a detailed description of that member and their interests with all our members being able to browse/search the member list. As we have close to 10,000 members it is essential that it is possible to restrict or narrow a search of the member list to certain specific criteria such as Suburb – Interest or one of or a combination of any of the other member profile fields we use. We have been using IPB since early 2006 and up until version 4 our members were always a
  12. We have a fairly sizeable membership with our chat room being used by many of our members every day. The one thing we continually get complaints and asked about by many of our members who regularly visit the CHAT ROOM is Private Chats. One of our members also started a topic in the Forums about it with others posting replies agreeing with all saying they would like to see such a function or feature added to the Chat Room. When chatting in the main room if someone opens a Private Chat you are immediately taken to the new private chat window, often when you are in the middle of typing a respon
  13. Our present web host requires PROXY SUPPORT for 3rd party outgoing connections (IP Chat Server). Our chat room is continually going down due to this problem which results in us submitting support tickets which then result in Invision informing us that our web host is blocking the connection between our chat room and their server. We then forward Invisions reply to our web host who replies saying for various reasons they do not permit 3rd party outgoing connections and give us the details for using a proxy. We are then informed by Invision that IP Chat does not have proxy support and ma
  14. That is a great idea and have often thought the same as well. Would very much like to see this included.
  15. Just wondering if the design team have ever considered including the option to be able set the default display order of the Member Profiles to other than the present default so that it would be possible to set the default display order to date joined etc..
