Hi all, I need some help explaining why I can't set up a test forum. I'm pretty noob when it comes to the workings behind the Invision forum & applications and terminology so I hope the person replying here can have a bit of patients with me. - I recently changed to another hosting company. - I kept my URL/ domain name. - I deleted my old test forum on the previous old host. - I set up a new test forum, with a brand new install at the exact same URL as the old test forum. - I read the install and upgrade instructions. Hi, How do you assign field to a member group? At registration stage, user can select which member group to register. Different registration form for each member group. Let say I have 2 member groups, doctors & engineers. Doctors will register at registration form call Doctor and engineer will register at registration form call Engineer. Within Doctor form, their profile field will have a check box set for their expertise (Anesthesiologists, Cardiologists, Dermatologists, etc...). Under each forum, there is a setting where Moderators can mark posts as the solution. I have this checked off but can't seem to find how to turn this on for moderators. My admin group sees the link under each post but moderators do not. I checked all through group settings, am I missing something? Its on, but its not showing for moderators. Its the primary user group and no secondary. Topic starters can see it as well, no issues there.

Is there a known issue with Website/Service Down or Unresponsive errors popping up for AdminCP/Forum for Firefox, Chrome, Brave, Edge, & VPN connections on ChromeOS/Android? Tried different connection types and basic browser/device troubleshooting, was wondering if IPS is down for multiple people or just me breaking something....again.

Hello everyone, I am trying to get online an old board, I have the database and files, my license is active and pointing to the right address, but when I try to access it, it shows an unformatted site and I can't login or do anything. I tried to install the same version from scratch, says everything is compatible, installs OK but it shows the same problem, and if I install the latest version it works ok, but of course my content is not there. the version of my old backup is ips_9719f My backup was setup in spanish, so when I load it, I get the unformatted webiste in spanish, and if I install from scratch, the same page but in english.

I upgraded a plugin recently, something has caused my whole site to become hit with 500-page-errors. Is there a way that I can disable the plugin without having access to my site directly? I should note that I need to be careful about losing data, but there are things I need to do which is of importance - so if I can safely disable the plugin it would be useful to know in these types of situations.

First of all: Love the new look! Yesterday our forum was updated to the latest version, as far as I know without any issues. Our members checked the new look and feel and two things they noticed. In Chrome, images in a post do not show (https://www.high-endforum.nl/topic/16737-uitnodiging-vergelijk-klassieke-draaitafels/page/2/?tab=comments#comment-527953). It does work in Firefox All of a sudden the bold topic titels of topics with new replies in the Actieve Topics module on our front-page have disappeared. I have a root admin who is trying to login but gets an EX0 error each time. Their ACP profile gives the following message: "Logged in from a new device but did not complete two-factor authentication: Firefox xx.x on Windows" Two factor authentication is not active. Can anyone advise? Cheers

Hi everyone. I have found some plugins / apps in the marketplace that deals with redirects, but there is currently no plugin which handle my requirements. I would like to give the members an option to choose which is their personal home page in the member settings. Some of my members would like to have the activity stream as home, otherones the forum overview and other the blog ... and so on. Does anyone have a solution? Best regards @MythonPonty

Is there a way to write a forum post that will go out to all the invision community members? I know about the email blast, but I would like to have something that stays in the forum as well - so they can find it in their email and then have reference in the forum. Is that possible- to post in the forum that emails all members? Or is the only option to write the email blast and copy / paste into the forum? would love some suggestions or ideas on how you have handled this.

Hi everyone! I did setup Facebook Login for my community, and everything has been working fine so far. This week, in order to satisfy to a request from Facebook regarding compliance issues, I tried creating a new account using a Facebook account, and I was quite puzzled regarding the behaviour I experienced. I would like to hear from something with more experience whether this is the intended behaviour or whether I misconfigured something (I could not find out what). @Jordan InvisionI dropped by the Release Notes page and noted that the 4.6.5.1 version had been released today. I went over to the client area and it shows that 4.6.5.1 was released yesterday. I looked at the date of the install files in my archive folder and noted I had already downloaded 4.6.5.1 on 7/28/2021. Why are you showing a new release date for a version you released two weeks ago? If you released an updated version why didn't you change the version number and alert the ACP that a new version is available to update to?

Hey there! I've seen this option under "Posting Settings" when I edit a forum and I was wondering what does the "Show as categories" mean.
