DamonT reacted to Feneroin in A built-in achievement/mile-stone system
It would be great if you integrate this feature and doing it modifiable by admins. For example:
* Congratulations, you've wrote your first message/reply
- created your first topic
* ...you've wrote your 10th/50th/100th message
* ...you've your first like
- first liked answer...etc etc etc
and notifiable via forum and/or e-mail...
also visible on profil under like 'User achievement' tab...

No. It was too short – excuse me. Quiz A should have for example feedback in 4 steps (0, 25, 50 and 75%) and Quiz B should have other feedback in 7 steps (0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90%)

That’s what you should do: 2 answers per quiz. TRUR or FALSE.

Can't you just made a "one right answer" quiz with two answers (true/false)?

DamonT reacted to Square Wheels in How do I know if a website is using 4.4 or 4.5?
Thanks @Paul E., I appreciate you trying, but this is too complicated.
Not sure why IPS would remove the version from the footer due to it being a security issue, but then create a file that shows when I updated from every version and what version I am currently on, and make this viewable to all. Why not stick it in the database?
Anyhow it's been there for years and my site is still around, I'll just leave it.

DamonT reacted to Lindy in Don't show me an update if I can't download it....
Sorry you're having difficulties, @MorriganIt's certainly not been a wonderful 10 months, by any stretch. 😞
I'm also sorry the notifications are causing you stress. They're intended to emphasize the importance of updates - if you're like me, you've likely clicked the "remind me later" button on OS updates a few dozen times before actually going through with it. Unfortunately, there is no distinction between licensed/unlicensed at this time - if we recommend an update, it's recommended regardless of license status. Nonetheless, I truly understand and empathize with the sentiment -- these are difficult times for many and we don't necessarily want reminders. I'm sorry this has been an example of that for you.
I hope things improve for you soon.

DamonT got a reaction from Joel R in Merging first 2 posts in topic
Right now we can merge all posts in the topic as we want (even from different users), but there is no option to merge anything with first post. It would be really nice to have such option in the future.

DamonT reacted to Cowboy Denny in How do we get the Invision Community Theme?
The default theme is so limited and none of the developer themes appear to offer anything close (that I could tell) to what you have on your site which is what sold me on Invision Community for appearance.
Are we able to get the theme that Invision uses which is way more capable?
Thanks, a very very long time member of Invision Community

DamonT reacted to xtech in How do I know if a website is using 4.4 or 4.5?
In important rule of (cyber) security is: don't expose more than what is strictly needed.
I would deny the access to that file.
What's the point of letting anyone to know what is the version you use? To know if a certain exploit can be used or that a vulnerability is present? You certainly don't want to provide rogue actors that valuable information.

Maybe we should ask why there is no such option. Is there any reason?

DamonT reacted to bfarber in Problem with Post Before Registration and streams (bug?)
Sometimes a ticket is the easiest way to diagnose a problem, even if the issue can be duplicated on a fresh install. When you look at the steps necessary to reproduce a problem and it can take an hour to set up your test installation to duplicate the problem, but you already have a live example we can look at, it's often more effective and efficient to look at the live example.
Support is included with your license and we encourage anyone experiencing a problem to make use of our support.

DamonT reacted to bfarber in Setting to allow post affilliate links
I'm not sure whether we even have a referral program still running, however the license agreement does not allow the copyright to be modified in any event.

DamonT reacted to Daniel F in Suggestion: Fix the problem with merging of two threads (one link dies)
This was actually added to IPS 4.5.4, but it's not retroactive!
When you merge 2 topics, IPS will store the removed topic id and redirect to the other topic with a 301 status code.

DamonT reacted to Ramiru in Option To Disable AJAX
I've tried the demo to test some Mathematics. I used MathJAX and CKEditor Mathematical Formulas. Here are the problems I encountered so far:
When replying to a topic, LaTex is not formatted correctly until the page is refresh. When using the Fluid view, switching to different forums will disable the MathJAX formatting. It needs refresh so that it will format correctly. When viewing a user's content/activity, switching between Topics/Post will also disable MathJAX. I think the reason why it lost MathJAX formatting is because of AJAX. I have already disabled the AJAX Pagination but the problem is still there.
So, I would like to suggest to have an option to disable AJAX functionality in all or specific areas.

I'm not familiar with how MathJAX works, but it sounds to me like you'd need a plugin that listens for our Javascript events to reinitialize content when the page updates.

DamonT reacted to Maxxius in Latest IPS 4.5.4.2 security patch for 4.4?
Exactly, Fast Line, it will be awhile before I jump to 4.5. and meanwhile I wish not to be under stress without having a security patch.

DamonT reacted to Fast Lane! in Latest IPS 4.5.4.2 security patch for 4.4?
I hope so. I'll probably won't be upgrading in Feb/March. Need a tad more stability and plugin support.

DamonT reacted to Gabriel Torres in Add font-display: swap to fonts.css
Hello,
Evaluating our website with Google's Lighthouse, I came across this:
This was easily fixed by editing core > global > framework > fonts.css and adding:
font-display: swap; To
@font-face { I recommend adjusting this in a upcoming release.
More info: https://web.dev/font-display/?utm_source=lighthouse&utm_medium=devtools
Thanks.
