Yamamura reacted to Chris027 in 4.5: Introducing our updated default theme
Are some of these things redundant? Is it necessary to see "Administrators" twice in the same post? I could be wrong, but if popular posts is based on the number of reactions, then isn't it redundant to list both the number of reactions and the fact that it's popular?Ā
Ā
Also, I'd love the ability to hide the "Administrators" or whatever group the user is in. This creates division between our community members who are paying subscribers and those who aren't. I manually edit the theme to remove these items.Ā

Too much empty space. It looks like an abstract Dribbble-layout for a portfolio, not for real use.

Great work as always IPS. Love the focus on mobile, this is very important, as more and more people are visiting our forums on mobile these days.
--------------------------------
This stands out to me: Is it possible to have the Follow text centered, even if the following count was in the thousands, there should still be enough room to keep the Follow text centered.
I was going to say also isn't possible to put the < Go To Topic Listing and the Next unread topic > on the same line? But would there be a circumstance where there would be more words for either, which I would then see how they both couldn't fit on the same line.

Yamamura reacted to TDBF in 4.5: Your new admin control panel
As someone once said... 'If it ain't broke, don't try fix it'.
This just seems like change for change sake, and certainly wasn't one of the things which was on my mind when it came to improvements that could have been made to the suite overall.
This is not meant as a criticism, more an observation. š

If we really want to modernize things, we should have a "Night Mode" switch in the corner.Ā (I think there's a theme in the marketplace like this, actually)
Looks good!Ā Appreciate the attention to detail with things like this.Ā Ā š

Yes, but the constant loading of images and "shaking" of the page is annoying.Ā This feature is useful for speeding up the initial loading of a page, but when viewing a page it does not make sense and looks bad.

Lazy loading seems like a neat idea, but after scrolling through this thread, it distracts from the normal experience of scrolling down a webpage. I reloaded and hit F12 to watched the network traffic on that page. It didn't seem to matter how long I sat at the top of the page; the images didn't load until I scrolled down. Is it possible to trigger the image loadsĀ beforeĀ the user scrolls down? If a user spends a lot of time reading the first post, the browser could be using that time to download the images that will be needed when scrolling down.
Another thing that results from the lazy loading is that images just pop into place, changing the vertical page size. Is it possible to save some sort of size information,Ā so that the initial page load reserves the visible area of the image before loading the real image*? This might not be needed if my first suggestion is implemented, since this is how images already work most places on the internet.
* The first image in this blog post implies that might already be intended. If it is, then it's not working for me.

Great overview!
Unfortunately the search bar seems to only honor English as a valid language for searches. If the AdminCP has been translated and you try to search for a (translated) option, setting or whatnot, you will not find anything. This is very sad, because the search bar is indeed a cool and very useful feature!
