SeNioR- reacted to Adlago in Poor PageSpeed Insights Score - Help
Try to find the best place for this code. For me, it works well after a mobileNavigation template, before a java script template.
You can also try to put it in your head before loading the css code

SeNioR- reacted to bfarber in (.webp) images support
As it happens, this is on an internal discussion tracklist - but there's nothing else to report right now. I can't say if support will be included in any specific upcoming release yet.

Very useful, I'll look into this as it can become quite a chore. 👍🏻

How is webp still not a thing in IPBoard?
Google basically forces you into webp with optimisation recommendations.

No idea, had server management install it a while ago. Whatever default settings are, that’s what I’m using. Probably could tweak, but haven’t.

SeNioR- reacted to Everade in We need webp NOW
Why are invisioncommunity devs so blind for webp?
It's not like it requires any other extra work, since the compression of webp is already existant by nature.
Simply allowing webp by default shouldn't be the biggest deal, or is it?
It's already widely accepted by all major browsers, so there's no excuse on that anymore, especially not since you dropped IE support yourselfs.
But still, every request and any conversation about webp have either been put down, or ignored.
Could we please get an explanation why you're so anti-fast-web?
I'm honestly wondering why is that.
I'm also wondering if the spacer.png image load implementation is still best practice either.
Wouldn't it make more sense to add native lazy loading instead?
Really keen to live up to todays SEO standards and performance requirements.

SeNioR- reacted to TSP in UX: Add author name to embeds
I would like for the embeds to contain a reference to the author name of the embedded content as before. In the previous version this would be contained within the title ("X replied to …")
I understand you currently reference the author with the avatar, however this is not enough information in most cases to understand who the author is.
I hope you can consider adding the author name to these embeds, as it's something I've received feedback on from members, and I think it can be placed together with the date of when it was posted.
For reference, example of embeds as they look now:
In previous versions this was the look of embeds:

SeNioR- reacted to bfarber in PHP74 Depreciation Notices with 4.5.4
You could temporarily remove the widget from the page until 4.5.5 is released. Or you can adjust your logging to ignore deprecation notices until after 4.5.5 is released.

SeNioR- reacted to bfarber in Custom BBCode
There's no way to support custom bbcode in 4.5.x. You can enable/disable parsing of "core" bbcode still, but it is deprecated.

SeNioR- reacted to bfarber in Items without containers don't support some features
I've added your suggestions to an internal development suggestions list for consideration in an upcoming release.

SeNioR- reacted to bfarber in Profiles have no meta tags
I raised the suggestion internally already.
I will say that search engines are increasingly leaning on json+ld over meta tags and we do populate those, but this suggestion remains open in the mean time nevertheless.

SeNioR- reacted to LiveG in Active account integration
Hello everyone,
Today when a user registers to my community via GMAIL/FACEBOOK, his photo automatically sync and appears on the user forum profile.
Can I disable the photo automatic sync? I think it's a little too much Invasion of privacy.

SeNioR- reacted to bfarber in Active account integration
Each user can control that functionality individually in their control panel.

SeNioR- reacted to Nathan Explosion in Youtube embed results in large space below editor
Pretty sure I reported this a good while back, on an earlier version of IPS 4 - but it's back on 4.5
Steps to reproduce (tested on Firefox & Chrome)
Create a new topic or a reply Paste an embeddable Youtube link (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URJH3ZJzxB0) After it embeds, look below the attachment section of the editor Result:

SeNioR- reacted to sychn in MySQL Query Help
Hi, m8s,
I tried to change the storage engine to InnoDB of my tables, but some of my tables are large and it returns 500 error.
Does anyone know how to do it by 1000 lines per round?
ALTER TABLE core_search_index ENGINE=InnoDB; Thanks!

SeNioR- reacted to Jordan Miller in #Hashtags
I responded in another comment with the below, but figured it deserves its own dedicated topic. 🙂
I would LOOOVE to see a hashtags feature.
Would it be possible to re-purpose / reutilize the Tags feature?
Members could use Tags (as hashtags) in their posts / comments. When you click on the hashtag, it links you to a search page where other members have also used that same hashtag.
Then, include a way to show Trending hashtags in a widget based off of usage (like the Popular Now or tag cloud widgets).
I would be super interested in this and I know my members would love it.
There's a lot of #JusticeFor campaigns on social media, and that could be super powerful to tap into on my forum as well. Just food for thought 🙂

SeNioR- reacted to Vegan Gaymer in Search to include Tags (optional default)
Tags are essential for searching our community (and many others) so it would be great if ADMIN had the option to set the default Searches to include Tags. I know we can access tag searches, but that's not an intuitive or easily accessible search for function.
Thanks!

It looks like the Instagram login handler on the Marketplace is broken. Tried contacting the dev to no avail. Does anyone know of other ways to setup Instagram login integration?
