This application enables you to show different members based on different criteria like primary group, secondary group, if the member is a "validating member" on a own page via a link in your main site menu.
You can set how many members in each member group can be viewed per page and what member data and profile fields should be shown.
You can also set permissions for who ( which groups) can see these member groups.
This can be used to create a page containing all your sponsors, to create a memberlist with all your members or to create a list of all awaiting validation members to your administrators.

Yikes! Obviously that shouldn't happen. Please PM me with ACP credentials so that I can troubleshoot.
Publish means "send now".
If the newsletter is active and scheduled, it should go out, providing that
1) you have newsletter content
2) you have recipients (sounds like you do)
3) you have scheduled tasks running more or less regularly. That would be either via cron job or with sufficient site activity. Check your tasks in the ACP and see when the newsletter one was last triggered.

MailBouncer works with any emails that are sent via SparkPost on your community, whether they're transactional emails or bulk mail. @JEFF MACK is also setting up SES/SNS at the moment. I do want to expand the choice, the next one will most likely be SendGrid and Amazon will follow (SES/SNS is much more complex to configure than the other APIs).
I replied to your PM.

Yeah, I ended up switching to Amazon SES and the amount of bounces flooding my inbox sucks.

My suggestion is to see if you can support Amazon SES. I just set my forum up with that. It would be nice to see if their APIs can integrate here as well.

Thank you for fixing this for me.
@Martin A. fixed some bad analytics code I had on my site that was preventing the map from displaying. He took the time to help me with this and I really appreciate it.

All markers will be deleted if you uninstall.
Send me site URL and login credentials in a private message and I'll fix it for you.

Strange that it should go out hourly. I'll look into it. For future reference, you can always just disable the newsletter, which would stop distribution.
As to the newsletter going out every time a topic is posted, I'm sorry, but the chances of that happening are basically zero. The newsletter is not connected to the posting process and is not touching it in any way, shape, or form. It's likely the task being triggered by site activity, as was suggested. The newsletter task IS set to run hourly (only to check for newsletters waiting to go out), but IPS handles which tasks are executed when.
So.... disable the newsletter, and I'll have a fix for you later.
You're right. I think the current settings were done that way specifically for a single customer back in IPB v3, and then I just ported it over. I'll change it.

My emails are using the wrapper but look like this as well, bullet-style. Is this normal when not using a custom template? This is turning into more work than I planned, was hoping for a clean default template and then set and go...

I scheduled my first weekly newsletter and received complaints that it sent every hour for up to 10 hours. Is there a log that shows this or has this happened to anyone else? I'm assuming it has something to do with the hourly task, but my settings show weekly distribution. I've disabled it and will run some checks sending to the admin group, but something went funky here. Members complained of spamming...
Maybe the issue is that the PublishNewsletters task is set to send hourly but the PruneDistributionHistory is set daily? i also notice that after it sent the next distribution time did not change, which should have been one week from now. I manually ran the PruneDistributionHistory task but it did not change.
EDIT:
I just noticed that my next distribution did not change to next week with the weekly interval setting. The daily and weekly intervals act the same for the next distribution time. I changed it to every two weeks in the interval setting and now the distribution time shows a week from now....funky.
So I took a look at some of the files and not sure if this is the reason or not. Looks like in /applications/newsletters/sources/Newsletter/Newsletter.php you have the code below:
switch( $this->publish_interval ) { case static::PUBLISH_DAILY: case static::PUBLISH_WEEKLY: $day += $daysToAdd; break; case static::PUBLISH_WEEKS: $day += $daysToAdd; $day += 7; break; case static::PUBLISH_MONTHLY: $month++; break; case static::PUBLISH_ANNUALLY: $year++; break; } My choices are Daily, Weekly, Every Two Weeks, Monthly, Annually, and Manually when in settings. I seem to only be able to get a weekly +7 days by choosing Every two weeks which is your Publish_weeks in the code above? every 2 weeks should be +14 and weekly I would imagine should be +7 like;
switch( $this->publish_interval ) { case static::PUBLISH_DAILY: case static::PUBLISH_WEEKLY: $day += $daysToAdd; $day += 7; break; case static::PUBLISH_WEEKS: $day += $daysToAdd; $day += 14; break; case static::PUBLISH_MONTHLY: $month++; break; case static::PUBLISH_ANNUALLY: $year++; break; } When I change this, it shows correctly in my "next distribution" when picking weekly. I would have the weekly with just a start date and from there +7 days send it weekly and then on the Daily, to actually pick the days of the week to send. But that's me..
If you have weekly, and pick two or more days it'll actually send in an interval that's less that a week. I think this is what happened to me. I accidentally had Friday and Saturday checked off under weekly because I was messing around with it the day before. Since the task sends every hour and the distribution time only updates once a day, it kept going even though I assumed it would only send once a week regardless.
I also think that update distribution time should be changed to hourly if the send is hourly.

Is there a way to see who unsubscribes and a total count of subscribed members as opposed to just looking at the subscribed member pages?

That's why I put the "time now is" message, so that you can figure out where the server is.

New version has been pushed to the marketplace. Changes include:
SendGrid support Cleaned up default HTML template Separate default HTML template for images New variable *|member_name|* can be included in the newsletter Newsletters included future articles/content. Fixed. "Allowed Groups" property was not respected in the subscription screen. Fixed. IMPORTANT NOTE: SendGrid support is completely untested, as I do not have access to a SendGrid account. Please report any issues in this thread and I will address as needed. Note that I may request ACP access if necessary for troubleshooting.

AlexWebsites reacted to Jed Rosenzweig in Leaderboard ideas
This probably isn't applicable to all sites but I'd like to see a top forums leaderboard. On our site we have a forum for every TV show and it would be fun to see that community vs community race.
Another issue I've seen is that there's one area on our site that's particularly like-happy and also insular and my leaderboard member are basically the same everyday. It would be nice to have some exclusions (ignore these forums) but I'm guessing that's a lot of work and server processes for an edge case.
My only real universally-applicable suggestion is to cache and serve leaderboard results every X minutes/hours as the leaderboard can take a long time to load.

AlexWebsites reacted to Martin A. in Member Map
If you want to do that, the task file is located in /applications/membermap/tasks/locationSync.php. The variable you need to change is $limit.
The proper to run to see how many you have left is:
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM core_members m LEFT JOIN core_pfields_content pf ON ( pf.member_id=m.member_id ) LEFT JOIN membermap_markers mm ON ( mm.marker_member_id=m.member_id AND mm.marker_parent_id=<ID OF THE MEMBERS MARKER GROUP> ) WHERE ( pf.field_4 IS NOT NULL OR pf.field_4 != '' ) AND mm.marker_id IS NULL AND m.membermap_location_synced = 0 AND ( ! (`members_bitoptions` & 1 ) != 0 )

AlexWebsites got a reaction from SoloInter in Pages templates
I would agree that more templates included default would be good. I would also say that a few good front page templates would be great to see as well. Maybe share the https://invisionpower.com/ design or other responsive front page templates for beginners to get going.
