AlexWebsites got a reaction from ADKGamers in Large community? You have a problems with sitemap!
@Matt can IPS release the code that you used to add the timestamp, specifically into the topic sitemaps so we don't need to wait for an update?
Also, if you are running gallery, there is no image sitemap and only image page urls with no time stamp either. See: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/178636?hl=en

AlexWebsites reacted to Marcher Technologies in Large community? You have a problems with sitemap!
opentype, I fully understand your position, and it indeed seems nonsensical to think google would drop already indexed pages for lack of a sitemap. Thing is.... the Google 'Fred' algorithm update actually arbitrarily culled thousands if not millions of pages from google's index. not as any penalty for black hat, but as a measure to curb their own storage needs, and the only thing getting them back in google's index is the sitemap. It's not the lack of a sitemap entry itself causing them to be dropped, it's Fred that dropped them, and the sitemap as the main route of recovery.

AlexWebsites got a reaction from SoloInter in Pages templates
I would agree that more templates included default would be good. I would also say that a few good front page templates would be great to see as well. Maybe share the https://invisionpower.com/ design or other responsive front page templates for beginners to get going.

Mainly the result of first patch already exist. Now google webmasters said 4 Jan - most oldest my sitemap file (actually all updated tiday, but google got it more frequently). Second patch with <lastmod> can provide ordering (last column). Now i can't see improvements by statistic. This big works for google get a lot of time and resources (and any update got it too). So need a more time. There is the graph of downloaded size per day
I see average goes up and this is good. Numbers in KiB (as legend said).
I'll post info here if i get some more intelligent proofs and results. Thanks you for your interest )

Wonder what they are going to actually improve in 4.3. Can you keep us posted if applying your patch helped?

For Babble and IPS 4.3, will there be support for emojis that IPS is including?

I updated to 4.2.7 and reinstalled the plugin, so far so good!

AlexWebsites got a reaction from Steph40 in Pages SuperGrid support
Every day I check to see if 4.2.7 is out of beta.... I guess it's not that big of an issue to release a patch or fix. I think it's also affecting my guest box signup widget not saving settings, but I don't know. My articles not saving layout settings is what I'm really waiting for a fix with.

I was hoping 4.2.7 would come out this week, but looks like its still stuck in beta. Is there a temporary patch you know of we can apply to save settings in this plugin?

AlexWebsites got a reaction from Fosters in Member Lists Pro
Was able to do this by changing in templates > memberlists > member > grid
<ol class='ipsList_reset ipsGrid ipsGrid_collapsePhone ipsClear' data-ipsGrid data-ipsGrid-equalHeights='row' data-ipsGrid-minItemSize='170' data-ipsGrid-maxItemSize='400'> to
<ol class='ipsList_reset ipsGrid ipsGrid_collapsePhone ipsClear' data-ipsGrid data-ipsGrid-equalHeights='row' data-ipsGrid-minItemSize='225' data-ipsGrid-maxItemSize='400'>
Would be great if you could add a minimum size in settings to control this.

AlexWebsites reacted to Matthew Theobald in RSS feed imports into club topics
I desperately need this functionality to optimise use of clubs.
I want to be able to automatically grab news and post it directly to clubs!
Please add this in soon! (Or inform me of an add-on that makes it work!)

It was actually theme related. For the database I was using default theme and for whatever reason it was adding that top-margin.

AlexWebsites got a reaction from SJ77 in Pages SuperGrid support
Does anyone know what controls in record view to have the article text overlap the hero image with the title like below? Mine does not.
I've got some sort of conflict with
html[dir="ltr"] .ipsGrid>[class*="ipsGrid_span"] { margin-top: 20px; }

haven't finished it yet, a few other things took over my life when working on it and haven't had a chance to get back to it yet.
the language string exist in both the regular lang and jslang portions, the key is "babble_disconnection". when i searched for it in the language pack, 2 came up (one is for the php side of things, the other is for the js side).

A suggestion for this app, please add an unsubscribe setting for newsletters in the admin panel under the member when viewing. The only way to unsubscribe a member now is to login as them. Maybe add your app into the tabs for member management?

AlexWebsites got a reaction from G17 Media in Forum Index data-pagecontroller for each view
Please add a forum index data-pagecontroller="" for each view; traditional, fluid, etc. This way we can target elements on the page with CSS specific to that view. Currently all views are data-pagecontroller="index"

AlexWebsites reacted to BomAle in Easy Header Widget 3 Column Responsive
This is a guide for organize header widgets into 3 column, this concept could be extended to 4-5 column with automated configuration (A idea for custom theme).
The options are many but I suggest to leave it as I wrote below:
@media screen and (min-width: 980px) { /* c = $c = 3, 3 colonne */ [data-widgetArea='header'] > ul > li{ float: left; display: inline-block !important; padding: 0 !important; margin: 0 1% 2% !important; /* m = 1 */ width: 32%; /*(100-(c*2-2)*m)/c => (100-(3*2-2)*1)/3 = 32 */ vertical-align: top; height: 400px; overflow-y: auto !important; overflow-x: hidden !important; } /* http://lea.verou.me/2011/01/styling-children-based-on-their-number-with-css3/ */ [data-widgetArea='header'] > ul > li:nth-of-type(3n+1):nth-last-child(1) { width:100%; margin-bottom: 0 !important; margin-right: 0 !important; } /* 3n+1 first li of each row, 2 second to the last */ [data-widgetArea='header'] > ul > li:nth-of-type(3n+1):nth-last-child(2), [data-widgetArea='header'] > ul > li:nth-of-type(3n+1):nth-last-child(2) ~ li { width:49%; margin-bottom: 0 !important; } [data-widgetArea='header'] > ul > li:nth-of-type(3n+2):nth-last-child(1) { margin-right:0 !important; } [data-widgetArea="header"] > ul > li:nth-of-type(3n+1):nth-last-child(3), [data-widgetArea="header"] > ul > li:nth-of-type(3n+1):nth-last-child(3) ~ li { margin-bottom: 0 !important; } /* LAST WIDGET {$c}n*/ [data-widgetArea='header'] > ul > li:nth-of-type(3n){ float: none; clear: both; margin-right: 0 !important; } /* FIRST WIDGET {$c}n+1*/ [data-widgetArea='header'] > ul > li:nth-of-type(3n+1){ margin-left: 0 !important; } [data-widgetArea="header"]::after { visibility: hidden; display: block; font-size: 0; content: " "; clear: both; height: 0; } } Copy & Paste this code on custom.css

AlexWebsites got a reaction from Fosters in Member Lists Pro
I had upgraded my site to 4.2.2 from 4.1.9 and after I updated the plugin version, the menu item disappeared. It still showed in the menu manager though.
I also notice that the grid layout is showing 6 in a row on larger screens vs it was 4 before. Is there some CSS I can apply to have it max 4 per row? On my larger screen it squeezes the boxes to show 6 now after update.
