Durango reacted to Joel R in Updates to our community
Feedback aka Feature Suggestions needs to be improved. As the definitive location for your clients to post any and all feedback for consideration by the company, it is by far the most important forum for our collective futures. You literally tell retail clients to post their suggestions in Feedback, but because it's so unorganized and so unmanaged, your own company follow-through on client feedback is embarrassingly non-existent over the years.
Feedback is a combination of site feedback, company feedback, feedback on seven apps, the admin control panel, clubs, community enhancements and integration, product guidance because people don't know where to post, and the personal planning of kmk on using community software in literally every way except as a community. Feedback needs to be broken-out per app, to be actively collated and tallied and merged, and non-feedback needs to be moved out.
There is zero incentive for clients to search for past feedback when everything is jumbled together, zero guidance on how clients can bump or lend weight to a prior suggestion, and finally zero transparency to your client base on how our aggregate suggestions are flowing through the suggestion pipeline. Probably because it's a hot mess.
If you had simply tasked Jordan to organize this section with clearly defined workflows, I would have applauded. Something like:
Prequalify all posts in Feedback: Ask for poster to provide minimum specifications as defined by the company. Until those are submitted by the poster, the suggestion shouldn't be accepted. One of community management's best practices is realizing that great suggestions aren't written by the poster, they're elicited by the asker. If bug, give poster instructions for sending in a support ticket. Close and mark as resolved. If non-feedback, give poster instructions on proper navigation of site for reference. Move as needed. If feedback that meets minimum specs, then move, organize, and merge as needed. For site feedback: If valid, escalate to site management team. Follow-up and mark as resolved when done. If not valid, follow-up and mark with a thanks but no thanks. For company feedback: If positive, ask for permission and promote on social media. Follow-up and mark as resolved when done. If negative, escalate to company management as needed.

Durango got a reaction from Markus Jung in 4.4: SEO Improvements
Nice improvements ! Congrats @Matt @Charles
especially the canonical tags preventing duplicate content from being indexed
By the way we asked someone to develop a plugin that adds a noindex on topics in case a topic is less than XXX words (lets say 150 or 200)
counting all posts of the topic of course
it works fine (not in the marketplace yet)
This is nice as it prevents to index many topics with just a few words (thin content pages)
maybe this feature could be considered to be implemented "native" ?

Durango reacted to Joey_M in 4.4: Store Filters and other Commerce updates
@Mark: Can we please have the ability to store multiple options within a product?
So we can list different colours available for purchase, patterns, personalise them etc? Rather than having to create separate products per each one.
Like this...
It would also be handy if we could disable which nations we ship too, I only want to sell to the UK right now but I have no way of limiting the products to this area. I just have to avoid adding shipping fees which seems very counter productive, as people may e-mail me saying 'I can't buy this item' when they don't read the description which means we only deliver to x places.

Still waiting for proper EU support of Commerce (i.e. taxation based on B2B/B2C clients with live VAT ID checks). Until then, no filters, widgets or other details will make a substantial difference.

This is all quite topical for us because we've just passed one year of a five-year plan to get our affairs in order such that we can move to the hills of Slovenia. We need to feel that we'in the middle of nowhere and the fact that Slovenia is a mini Europe (Alpine mountains, lakes, coast on the Adriatic) means that we can always drive to a "holiday destination". And it snows in winter, which is perfect!
This is the house we saw which made us think "let's do it!" OK, it will have sold by the time we're ready to move but it's more than whetted the appetite! Look at all that isolation!
We did a bit more searching on a holiday last summer between Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia and realised that property on the Croatian side of the border seems ridiculously cheap. Since my better half is already very good at Croatian (she watches Croatian comedies and laughs at all the right parts), we may revise the plan and go to the north of Croatia instead.
We're on course with all the goals we've set ourselves to make it possible. The one important thing is that I need to have a job where I can work remotely once we go there, since she'll be giving up work after 20 years of stress, so if you're looking to expand the support team ... 😉

Durango reacted to AlexWebsites in 4.4: Turbo charging loading speeds
This is great news! I was just looking for a way to speed up image loading and found this article. I was also reading up on HTTP/2 so was happy to see this support added.
Not sure if I missed it but would love to see CSS and JS combined into one output file for each.
Maybe test the suite through web.dev to see what else can be optimized? Since google is the big one and released this tool https://web.dev/measure

Durango got a reaction from Markus Jung in 4.4: Increase visitor registrations with Post Before Registering
I saw that you plan to set a redirection to a form next to a guest post, there might be an easier way to do this, the best way to do it is like this :
https://www.commentcamarche.net/forum/linux-unix-13/new
right below the post form, ask a login / email / password
much easier, and the visitor stays on the same page :)

Durango got a reaction from Matt in How to use Invision Community content in Wordpress in under 5 minutes
This is working in Wordpress check your code :)
By the way, we use the "externalembed" @Matt also in Invision itself for SEO reasons :
We can show many blocks on every pages (last topics, last videos, last events etc) and there is no duplicate content problem as it shows up as iframes in the code
So i would recommend using those external embed blocks everywhere :) very useful !

Proposing a page with an unanswered question greatly increases the bounce rate and decreases the time spent on the site.

Listen to me :
The best thing to do for the SEO and for the IPB community is to put an option to put an article "rel =" noindex "if there is not an answer.
