Charles got a reaction from SeNioR- in Emoji sorting
4.6 has improvements to load time for emoji menu, particularly on mobile.

I would personally be wary to implement this. It is a security feature. I get those sorts of emails all the time from various sites I login to. Yes, they can be redundant but I would rather know the check is happening than not.

Topic solved.

Charles got a reaction from Moonbeam in Almost no content, almost no disk space left
I think you must have REST API logs enabled to log all activity. You should have a look at those. I pruned it for you.

Charles reacted to CoffeeCake in Almost no content, almost no disk space left
No worries! Self-hosted sites and CIC sites are going to have completely different troubleshooting paths when dealing with issues outside of the IPS software itself (or sometimes in extending or integrating things). It'd be nice if when posting here, there were a prompt to select what is applicable to the question or issue being asked. @Jordan Invision

I will have a look at your account and get back to you. That does seem abnormally high. I can see on the backend what is specifically using space.

Charles got a reaction from Jordan Miller in Does Invision use Trackers in emails?
Our email stats track numbers of emails sent and clicks. It does not have a tracking "pixel" to track views/opens.

Charles reacted to CoffeeCake in Identify Guests as Search Engines?
@AndreasW2000, if you don't mind my asking, what's motivating the desire to have search engine (or other web crawlers) identified as such in Who's Online?
If the purpose is to determine the level of human traffic on your community as a community administrator, I'd suggest you'd explore some better options that exist to see these measures. If the purpose is for your membership to know this information, I might be helpful to talk a bit more about your use case here.
As an administrator, I'd recommend using a third-party analytics package such as Google Analytics. It's free, can be turned on natively with IPS (ACP > System > Community Enhancements) and will show you in both real-time and historical snapshots human visitors vs. automated traffic. The data presented here is going to be far more accurate and insightful than any efforts to visually monitor the Who's Online page.
No, this simply means that there won't be session data stored, and the overhead of creating/updating that session data in your database or Redis. Doing this would improve your site's speed and performance for things accessing your site that aren't logged in. Presumably (though I have no idea) these changes would apply to all non-authenticated traffic.
It would not block or prevent them from crawling your site, nor viewing the content. Just an under the hood optimization.

Charles reacted to Jordan Miller in Can we get an agree or +1 reaction on IPS (or both)?
+1!
I like your suggestion a lot @Morrigan. I think a +1 would serve the community a lot more than "confused" or "sad" tbh. Maybe Invision can take a little peek at the percentage of how much the confused and sad reactions are used and if it's minimal, replace them with a +1 and see how it's used in the coming weeks. Nice idea.

Charles got a reaction from sobrenome in Please make a tutorial/guide on installing/configuring redis
I don't think it's our responsibility to teach people how to install other software. Redis itself has documentation. If you are not able to install and configure Redis then you should not really be using it.
