Actually... in looking at some old installs of mine, there never was a default (pre-created) Record Feed Block in the ACP.
You could define it as I showed above, but I'm not seeing it in a 4.5 install either.
Did perhaps you or one of your staff define this in the past, so it showed on the front end?
EDIT: Actually, I think my installs are not quite right. Jim does have this block in his install, so I'll let him take over. 😉

As I pointed out in (rather frustrating) debates years ago: someone doesn’t understand the post-hoc-ergo-propter-hoc fallacy. Doing X and seeing Y afterwards doesn’t mean that X caused Y. It’s why millions believe in homeopathy, and it’s why some admins believe whatever they happen to do on their website must have caused the ranking changes they saw in the following months. But unless the causal connection is demonstrated, it is not reasonable to accept that connection. Arguments based on that fallacy can and should be dismissed and discussions using such flawed arguments as a premise will usually end up being a waste of time.

We don't have a list of deprecated files, though if you are cleaning up from an install of 3.x which was upgraded to 4.x there are folders which can usually be deleted. (Note that you need to make certain that you didn't use those folders in some customized way.)
For v4.x the following folders are the default, and must be present:

Any other folders you'd need to check manually to see what is there.
I'll also include a screenshot of a normal "version 3.x upgraded to version 4.x" folder structure before any old files/folders have been removed:

Between those two screenshots you should be able to figure out what can be removed.
(It should be noted as well that any left-over php files would be a very small total for disk space, but removing them is still a good security precaution.)

If you're running CRON, please ensure it is running every minute and that the command is correct, including your PHP path. If you have any doubts, please copy the command from ACP -> System -> Advanced Configuration.
Otherwise, please check to see if there are any errors in your System Log. If there are, we can take a look.
We would need to look further into this for you, however the access details on file appear to be incorrect or missing. Could you please update these details by visiting your client area, selecting the relevant purchase, then clicking "Review/Update Access Information" under the "Stored Access Information" section.
We look forward to further assisting you.

Step one....  is your cron even setup?  If you have access to SSH, login to the server and type "crontab -e".
You should (hopefully) see a line that has your IPB's task.php file called running every minute.  If it's not, look in the cron log...  something like "cat /var/log/cron | grep task.php" and see if there are entries being returned.  If not...  there is no automated task to run it via cron.
If you don't have access to these, you can ask your host for assistance.

The CRON would be something you need to check on your end with your hosting panel or hosting provider. You can check if our software is configured to use CRON by going to ACP -> System -> Advanced Configuration.

    Good method!
Saving the folders temporarily by moving or renaming them would allow recovery if you later discover something you needed.

What I've done in the past was moved folders I suspected were no longer in use to another subfolder (like OLD).  If something was broken on the site, it was easy to see what object was missing and I could simply move that folder back up a level back to the original place.
After some period of time (a few weeks to a month), I knew I could safely delete the folder.

For future reference to others, there must be only one instance of conf_global.php, which has to be located in the software's main directory (where e.g. init.php, index.php, and error.php are also located).
If constants.php is added, it also must be placed in the same directory.

By "delete their question" do you mean they edit their post and delete the text with "solved, never mind" or something like that?
If so, you can reduce the allowed edit time for the Group as well. I usually allow edits for 5 minutes or thereabouts.

Mark H got a reaction from Miss_B in Restoring MySQL database when moving hosting - Does it fail for anyone else?
Importing a database which is larger than roughly 20 MB really should be done with the "mysql" command-line (SSH) utility. Using phpMyAdmin to import any database can be problematic.
If you have shell (ssh) access to your site, we'd recommend using that instead

When performing a restore, you would need to restore the entire site, including all files, and not just the database. (From your wording I can't be certain what you restored.)
This is because you'll have the files for the new version present, but trying to use an old database's information.
