Ok, well allowing videos where we currently allow images is secondary to supporting webp. We're talking about two different things at that point - not that it's a bad suggestion or anything, but I was focusing first on where you wanted to see webp support implemented so we can break this down into workable chunks. 🙂 

Well maybe someday I will actually be able to use it then. Until then, I just wasted $60 on another half-baked add-on.

I was testing out the single-user-license key extension, and I realized it's virtually impossible for a customer to find their product information after ordering something. The email they receive does not tell them to go to their purchase history for their product info. The page after they order only says "You can go to Your Orders", which has no information on their product. There is no way for the customer to actually know they are supposed to go to the Purchases page to get their product information, so it looks like the website just stole their money.
If I buy something online, I expect to see the license key right away after ordering, or to be sent in an email. It took me ten minutes to find the license key after ordering, on my own site. Why is this hidden from the customer?

But the custom field will pick up whatever settings you've applied to it - so edit the field and see if you have added the height/width parameters and modify them to suit if you have. And if you haven't, then try adding them and setting them to a value of your choice.

I just got my first referral on my account. It was actually brilliant to show the account signups instead of just anonymous sales. I heard the little notification noise, I see the account of the person I helped create, and now I want to help answer their questions so they will buy something. This is definitely an underutilized feature I think we need learn how to use properly.

Okay, I definitely recommend setting your product to send out a second email that provides a link to the Purchases page so the user can get their key.
You should also add instructions for activating a product on Steam, if it is a Steam key.

You'd want to rely on the username/password supplied by the end user. A custom public oauth client, not a custom confidential oauth client.

That's correct - a cookie is set and they are tracked even if they sign up later.

You can use the IPS REST API Ikey endpoint , but you can also just use the http://www.example.com/applications/nexus/interface/licenses/?ENDPOINT URL.

After using this for a while and seeing the same header with various parts shown and hidden in different parts of the website, I feel less strongly about this than I did when I originally wrote this.

I created a bucket with Backblaze and it has all the same settings as an S3 bucket, but I don't think IPB supports this yet.
It looks like this would reduce our file storage cost to about 25% what it is now.
How does one do this?
As a medium / small tech company, IPS should really be doing everything they can to help build an ecosystem outside of the FANGS.

Common knowledge is "pay for Google ads and make money" and it's totally wrong.
Mailing lists and affiliate systems are probably 10000% more powerful than shouting into the wind on Twitter.
Keep this in mind and maybe attend some startup events, get advice starting from this mindset, and find out how things are really done. That information would be extremely useful.

Here's another reason: YouTube has arbitrarily decided to disable the "related videos" feature for embeds. So now we have all sort of unrelated content being advertised to our users after they watch a video. Who knows what they will do to us in the future?

Nobody is going to post a link to our main forum page and get people to buy something that way. Instead they will post links to various content on our site like blogs or gallery images, people will go to see the content, and some of them will eventually buy a product from us.
The referral ID should work with links throughout the community like this: https://invisioncommunity.com/news/product-updates/health-dashboard-r1216/?_rid=1, not just the main page. This should be built into the share system so when people share a page on Twitter or whatever, the referral ID is tagged onto the URL automatically. You have all the pieces right there to create a system where users are incentivized to share content and bring in new revenue. I have no idea why no one has connected the last bit of functionality needed to make that funnel start working.
