Anyone at invision explain the thinking behind these two sets of statements...

    Commerce Deprecation
Commerce Help Feature - Now, there are many email support desk solutions that are a significant improvement on what Commerce offers...
...we made the decision to deprecate the support desk feature
Commerce Sales Feature -  ...physical product sales have now been deprecated and are much better handled by specialist services such as Shopify.
    versus
    New Courses and Lessons Feature
The Courses app is not going to try to be a full LMS. Not trying to run a university here 🙂

As I see it invision are...
Getting rid of 2 features (that I use heavily) with the reason being you can get better commercial versions elsewhere
Whilst adding one new feature (that I have no use for) even though you can get better commercial versions elsewhere
All a bit conflicting to me
Plus while here, may as well ask, will the cost of commerce go down now as it will be a lesser product for self hosted packages?

We would need to look further into this for you, however the access details on file appear to be incorrect or missing. Could you please update these details by visiting your client area, selecting the relevant purchase, then clicking "Review/Update Access Information" under the "Stored Access Information" section.
We look forward to further assisting you.

    This helped!
It turns out we did not have the MySQLi PHP extension loaded. Now the update is complete, everything is running.
Thanks for the help @Nathan Explosion and @Adriano Faria!

That did it, removing the cms folder moved it from being listed as locked under Applications down to a new section where it was shown as needing to be upgraded. The X alongside that entry allowed me to remove it, and now there is no trace of the Pages app. Thanks!

You should upload all files and overwrite any in the package, merging folders. Any files which shouldnt be overwritten, were created (therefore not in the download)

It looks like PHP does not have the right permissions to access either tmp or the target destination.

But an extraction error is not a problem in the software. The software is simply saying extract the file and your server is responding with “sorry bub, no can do”. 🙂
Make sure your applications folder is 777 and owned by the correct owner/group.

Also if the application existed previously you may need to manually remove it if installing it via marketplace. Check the applications folder for ingoredtopics and if it’s there, you might move it up a folder or something for now.

    Use recovery mode.
It will disable all of your 3rd party resources. Once disabled, you can remove the constants value and re-enable all of the other good resources.

    Their suggestions are:
Optimize your Stripe integration -- This is already done. Add a CAPTCHA -- This is not possible today.  It would require 3rd party development. Add rate limits  -- This is something that would have to be done by your host. Require login or session validation -- This is possible and needs you to configure it Use customer Radar rules. -- This is a product from Stripe and is for you to setup/manage outside of IPB.  Detect and prevent unusual behavior  Limit the number of cards that can be attached to a single customer -- This is already done Limit the number of customers that can be created with a single IP address -- This is not possible today.  It would require 3rd party development Filter out requests with certain user agents or other parameters -- This would be on you to do with your host / firewall.

rllmukforum reacted to Terry Ellison in A Docker Container Project for a Self-Hosted Site
I am the SysAdmin for a self-host UK forum for self-builders. We are currently doing a platform refresh from a 4-core to a 6-core VPS (mainly because the latter bundle rebaselines to a currently supported Ubuntu LTS version and doubles the SSD storage available).  I am moving to using Docker for both production and test on the new server.
Here is the announcement topic: BuildHub – Moving to New Server and Github. Here is the Github repo for the project: https://github.com/TerryE/docker-buildhub. I don't have any assistance to request, ATM.   The project is pretty much self documented.  You just need a host server with docker-compose, docker.io and git installed (I have a local RPi4  with 256Gb NVMe SSD running Raspbian 64bit Lite and it runs fine on it).  Set up your project directory and git init it, git pull this repo. Set up your environment and secrets according to the env.default-template.  Run extensions/build-all to build the extension images and run the docker-compose to build and bring the forum up.  This will bring up 5 containers for the stack: httpd, php, mysql, redis and hk (cron-based housekeeping).  Note that the build supports two separate instance stacks: forum (on 80 and 443) and test (on 8080 and 4443).
This is a work-in-progress, but about 90% complete.  Anyone is free to copy / clone / raise issues through the GitHub issues system.  Enjoy. 😊

I had run it a couple of times before making the post, to no avail. However, I noticed it's now working. I'm not 100% sure what I did to cause that. Possibly disabling the apps noted above and re-enabling. I also tried dragging Ignore Topics above Ban Members from Forum in the list of applications (I'm unsure what, if anything, this order signifies).
Appreciate the video, I wasn't sure where application settings were to be found in the ACP.

rllmukforum reacted to Joy Rex in Fluid View Forum Sidebar - Hide/Unhide?
I really like the Fluid view, but it would be great if there was a way to hide the forum selection sidebar once you've made your selections so the other sidebar items aren't pushed down because of it being at the top, or maybe move it to a modal when you activate Fluid view?

    Hello, 🙂
Is there a solution to the excessively long sidebar problem in the ACP now ? If not, when will you fix it ?
Using a listbox instead of a table should make it...
    Thank you. 🙂

rllmukforum reacted to Maxxius in When will you fix the fluid view ?
That looks bad. I don't think it was addressed yet. Why not make it so that the entire forums list in sidebar could be expanded/collapsed? If you have a lot of sections sidebar becomes a huge mess.

As mentioned in another item on the same topic,  we are not doing anything specific here relating to the auto play of video. It also seems this is only happening since updating iOS. So unfortunately, it would seem its an iOS issue here, rather than one with the software.

This is my biggest annoyance with the software, and something I have posted on numerous occasions but the powers that be do not seem interested unfortunately.
Apparently some people prefer to start on page 1 every time they open a thread, I can only assume they have never completed reading a book! 🤷🏻‍♂️
