So I understand your argument, piracy will always exist, so let's make it easier for them? Did I interpret that right?

Oh I see, you can own part of a bitcoin. Got it. Thanks.

It would be a decimal value, example, 140.00 would equal 0.00859188 BTC with a value of $15,669.45 per BTC

Rhett reacted to Lindy in How do we extend functionality contained within traits?
This is being discussed with development, I just wanted to let you know we're not ignoring it. One proposed solution moving forward is to incorporate our own event trigger system - for example, when a reaction is provided, send a "reactionGiven" event that you can then work with. This allows you extendability without us needing to get hacky.
Once the core devs have given more insight, I'll update this so we're all on the same page.

System check and ensure that PHP and MySql are in spec. Seems they're attempting to do something not permitted

Thank you Rhett! To be honest I was a bit frightened when the saw the reply notification. "How many IPS Cloud servers have I exploded now? Memory consumption trough the roof?"
But it wasn't, just a great bit of feedback
And you probably would have contacted us privately if that was the case

Well done Martin! I commend you for cleaning up this application and making it awesome again! I used it on many of my sites years ago, it was great, but needed some updating, I will be using it again now as it's very nicely done! Great job!

Rhett reacted to Lindy in Who's Online cut off time
Because IPS4 uses PHP sessions and the default garbage collection is 30 minutes. Editing PHP configurations is beyond most users and and it's really not necessary - if you want to make your site look more busy than it actually is, there's plugins in the marketplace to replace the online user block. You should ideally leave the stock settings alone.

There is nothing wrong with our hosting, and it's not a typical shared setup by far, however I will note your app here is the #1 source of tickets since 4.0 was released.
Please don't try and pass the buck here to our hosting being an issue when it's not. I believe the 469 replies here to this topic back that up as well.

Rhett reacted to Kevin Carwile in IPS Rules Application
No problem! I am confident that there will be many. There's all kinds of cool tricks you can do with rules. One of my favorites is to schedule an email to be sent to a member in 1 month, and for every time they log in, have rules reschedule that action for another month out which will replace the existing scheduled action for that member. Then if they don't log in for a month, they get a friendly email from you reminding them that you missed them on your site!
Me too. Let me know if you ever have a "When, If, Then" need for your site and I'll whip you up a rule or two.

3.2 Compatability release (1.0.5) will be available very soon.
It's not the full-blown feature release I had planned on, but there is a neat new feature with it.

Something to consider is the total out of pocket expense over a few years... looking at IPB in this manner will show you the reduction in future cost with IPB vs VB.... while it's a little more now... the renewals over the next 2-3 years are 25 bucks for 6 months... you don't have to renew every 6 months either... you can skip a few months or a year and then renew for 25 bucks... and get the latest version. Unlike the new vb license you will have to pay full price every year or two when they release a new version.
Bottom line is yes if you want the full package it's a little more then vb to start but the renewals is where the benifit is. -

You guys are great..... I just spoke with Charles this morning and was very impressed, being a current vb user.... I'm sold on what I see here.
I'm looking forward to getting to know the rest of you and thank you for all this information while we transition to our new home.
