Nice to see this. Big changes can sometimes be difficult in my oldest community, but some of these options look like they're going to be nice. Looking forward to seeing more.
Will a group icon still be visible in the compact mode?

Go to the file page in the ACP -> Marketplace:

Click on the INSTALL button. You're done.
If you want to download it, then create an account on my board and redeem the key from this purchase. Here you can see your keys: https://invisioncommunity.com/marketplace/previous-purchases/

This is precisely why it was removed. Quoting or copying pasting the share URL is much more direct/consistent.

Disappointed by this move, however, I also understand the decision to go down this route.

No. You can either remove a specific member or all members from a category/item. You cannot remove per group.

Perfect! Thanks so much to both of you for all this help!

You can. You would want to click on "Use custom formatting", which will then reveal a textbox for you to enter into. So for you, it would be something like
Link

You would want to work with your email and hosting provider to confirm delivery and settings. It is outside our scope of support to aid further with hosting support.

The Events application replaced Calendar. You can manage it in the ACP -> Community -> Events.

If you're looking to host real time events using Zoom, then I encourage you to read the blog post about Events.
This was a new enhancement that's very recent (and in fact, IPS hosts a monthly webinar that your team might want to join as a case study of how it's utilized). It incorporates real time chatting that are then migrated to topics, so it combined the best of both.
Unite your community with the Events application https://invisioncommunity.com/news/invision-community/unite-your-community-with-the-events-application-r1265/
If you need persistent chat behind these one time Events , yes there are third party modifications for chat and shoutboxes.

Thanks so much! Good to know, and I've found a couple options in the Marketplace that may suit for the chat feature.
I believe they are going to be contacting the sales team shortly, now that they've got an idea of what they're looking at.

usmf reacted to Marc Stridgen in Video Meetings and/or Live Chat features?
We dont offer the video services for meetings unfortunately. We can show live videos within live topics, but this would be more of an 'event' type environment, rather than a meeting. For example, we have our release chats which we show in a video event, and others can participate in the form of questions. You can see how this works here, if its of interest.

We dont have a live chat feature at present. There are a few 3rd party applications Ive seen which add this.
Of course, feel free to get them to drop our sales team a message if there is anything we can discuss with them.

To Marketplace developers and the Invision community as a whole, I will be happy to host an independent and collaborative Marketplace directory. It's already in the works.
I fully support a thriving ecosystem of developers and clients: to extend, to inspire, and to push the boundaries of our platform. Technology is an important differentiator more than ever in the modern web, and working with developers (either privately or through their public mods) can help fine-tune your platform.

More information and invitations will be sent out to active Marketplace devs. You are also welcome to send me a direct PM.
Follow this topic for any future updates.

Right, so this bodes well for well known and established devs as they have already created a foundational trust model with clients. For new devs, that's a barrier they'd have to create over time. Meanwhile, clients either have no way to validate new devs work like IPS previously did to guarantee the safety of the app/plugin.
I think this greatly elevates the risk for clients and subsequently harms the potential for developers to grow the product. Hobbyist sites will suffer the most as they simply don't have the resources to invest in robust security evaluation.
Perhaps another opportunity for a dev to provide some level of AppSec and InfoSec scanning of applications to lower the risk.

So for normal users like me, can i still do 'application upgrade' check? OR That process is changing as well?
If i understand - rather then purchasing renewals from IPS, i will be purchasing through developer site? So 10 developers, 10 sits for renewals? I am fine with it, as long as I can use add-ons on IPS forum.
Current IPS functionality doesn't cover all my needs and for us, stand alone forum would be non usable without developers fixing the gap/bridge.

There is an option to create a Login Handler based on an external MySQL database (it has options to specify all the data/fields needed). The forum will load the data from it and, based on how it's setup, create/sync accounts on the forums.

You can take a look at it on your site to verify how it works. Here's a link to the guide:

If that won't work, or if your friend needs something different, creating a custom Login Handler is also an option.
