    I read this whole thread but I don’t see any indication that IPS or 3rd party have decided to start working on this despite overwhelming demand. Hopefully that changes soon.

    Learn how to build a PWA in 5 minutes
    One of the most important characteristics of Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) is the “progressive”. You don’t have to implement every feature of a PWA to consider your site a PWA. Instead, the idea is that you implement a range of steps, each making your app better for your end users.
    This blog post makes a key assumption. There are many developers out there who want to make their apps progressively better, but they want to do it in 5 minutes or less. And that’s what this blog aims to show you.

    We do not have to wait for the official version, we can create a group to hire a developer to do it for us. Check out this site from the link below, it's a PWA theme store for wordpress. If it is possible to do this in wordpress, it should be possible to use in IPB.

    Adjust mobile design:
    Then create the progressive web app (PWA) with common requirements:

    My community is begging for an app, and I already lost ~60% of member traffic to Facebook and WhatsApp. Why? Not because my content isn't good enough anymore, but my members use my contents, and afterwards, go on with live messaging/meetings (which is an elemental part in my industry) via Facebook and WhatsApp and I lose control. I can do nothing against it. My competitors don't have contents, but they have active Facebook and WhatsApp groups. The FB/WA messaging functions are way better, and my users require an app icon to remember my site as well as push notifications to their mobiles. Not having an app is blocking my success factors extremely. I'm already considering buying an app development for my WordPress pages (which seems to be cheaper as many developers already did it for the WP platform...), but that would be the point to lose the power an IPS app would have. I'd prefer an IPS app, but I don't have ages to wait for one. We need to speed up any arrangement.
    I'd be willing to pay, too!!!

    Hi Guys IPB is awesome and far better than any other forum software available in market. IPB team working very hard to implement new feature every month i appreciate their     hard work
    But now in smartphone world everyone is using mobile devices that have apps to access their favorite content. people don't like first open browser, then type url and then type username, password. Mobile friendly websites are no longer a solution. Forums are facing competition from Telegram groups, discord server, Facebook Groups, Whatsapp Group
    @Charles PLEASE HELP US !!!!!
    I know it is very difficult to maintain native app. so Now companies use hybrid approach to cut cost for mobile app.
    It would be great if IPB team develop the in house Progressive Web app for IPB. IPB theme already mobile friendly so every little to do  Just need to implement
    1. Service- worker for Offline uses
    2. Push Notification for Notifications
    3. Login and signup screen (that remember the user name and password)
    Here some Key Benefits Of PWA over Native App

    IPB4 team already have brilliant javascript developers. I think it would not too difficult for them to do this.
    I would like to Pay for this feature separately  if it will be developed. It would be Milestone for IPB 4 as compared to other forums software.
    Others IPB members if you are agree please vote this feature as much you can and share your's feed back too and don't Forget to Participate in Above Poll Question

    Companies Using PWA!!

    PWA is not just another Buzz word,  PWA again transferring the power back to Web Developers which was lost during native mobile app era. I think REST API based apps for IPB not right approach, From developers point of views, it will make mobile apps  hard to maintain and compatible with every new version of IPB and updates of hundered of IPB plugins. However PWA just uses Mobile Responsive of Website.
    Forums Founders  spent both Time and money to make his/her community sustainable. sometime new users like the forums but forget url and browser history deleted,at that time website looses one member ? this same things happened with me many times and may be other members share the same experience.
    For iOS users or Android users there is more chances, new users of clients Forum website click on App icons  (Installed by PWA ) again than open browser inside the mobile, remember the website URL and hit the enter. No matter whether  PWA support push notifications for particular mobile os or not :)
     PWA fully supported in Window 10 redstone 4. We can't ignore the billions machine running  window 10. Window 10 PWA app would be huge opportunity  to keep the website users engage with website. Just imagine clients Forums apps are installed on users PC.  Even They don't open browser and enter forum URL,  with single push notification you can make users again engage to your website ? More and more adopting the window 10

    This is my humble request to IPB team please please develop in house mobile app for IPB others wise our communities websites will loose the competition in mobile app age.
     THANKS :)

    No. The other way around. If you would have a robots.txt there could be something faulty in there which prevents the image indexing.

    PM me with your site link, I'll take a look.
    We have an "Analytics" section in the ACP to paste in your tracking code making it really easy to get Google Search Console tracking your site. You don't need to worry about editing templates, etc.

    We are starting a project to implement this in our community, because as mentioned one of the friends above, relying solely on advertising and programs like Google AdSense that every year has been paying less, is close to unfeasible our site and I see that this is a reality of many communities, not just our own.
    We've researched and found systems like Sharetribe and Arcadier that charge you monthly for you to build a P2P system of stores.
    https://www.sharetribe.com/
    https://www.arcadier.com/
    The problem with choosing a solution like this is that our users would have to create a second account to access this platforms.
    It would be great to have this option directly on Invison because users would have direct access to this service without having to create a second access account.
    I see that the Marketplace here already works very much like this systems, I believe that it would only need some adaptations, no?

    The system is more geared towards digital goods being distributed, or site-sponsored physical goods.
    There are third party addons on the marketplace that facilitate user-to-user sales of items (i.e. "classifieds"), and we have some ideas rolling around internally to open up Commerce further.

    @Gabriel Torres,
    The plugin solved your problem with Chinese spam?  My forum is also being bombarded by them. As our forum is in Portuguese as yours, if it solved for you would probably solve it for us too.

    IPS Sitemap generator using special database table source for refreshing - core_sitemap.
    Primary search engine source of sitemap is url https://example.com/sitemap.php which is list of sub-sitemap files. You can see list of that files proceed for this link.
    Each of that file contain no more than 1000 urls to specail pages (profile status, topic (without number of pages or comment) and other elements, with supported sitemap as core extension).
    One of our case is forum with more than 100k topics, more than 4.2kk posts and more than 6kk users. So with simply math we have 5214 sitemap files (you can simply count number of that files with command
    select count(*) from core_sitemap; // 5214 Sitemap generator task run by default once per 15 minuts and update only one oldest element from that big list. With simple math we can try to answer question 'how many time we need for update everything?' (because users can post not only in newest and may post in some old topics... but.. new created topic will add to sitemap file only when ALL older files will newer than current file with new topic inside). So, how much time we need for update?
    5214*15 = 78210 minuts = 1303 hours = 54 days! 54! days! Search engine will add your newest content after 54 days after them posted. Incredible thing. Not believe? Or want to know this lag for your community? You can simple know your lag time with that sql:
    select FROM_UNIXTIME(updated,'%a %b %d %H:%i:%s UTC %Y') from core_sitemap order by updated asc limit 1; // Wed Nov 01 14:13:49 UTC 2017 Yep.. In our case oldest file last updated in 1 November...
    What we should do for fix it? Very fast solution - create a temp file, like a 'mycustomsitemapupdater.php' with this content:
    <?php require 'init.php'; $generator = new \IPS\Sitemap; $generator->buildNextSitemap(); $last = \IPS\Db::i()->select('FROM_UNIXTIME(updated, "%a %b %d %H:%i:%s UTC %Y")', 'core_sitemap', null, 'updated asc', 1)->first(); print_r('Oldest time now: ' . $last . PHP_EOL); And run it via web or cli so times, what you want (before oldest time not be so old).
    Solution for a longer time - add this script to the cron and run it every minute or, which better - change task 'sitemap generator' run time from 15 mins to one minute (but it may be not solve you special problem, if you need to update it faster - do it with smart).
    Better solution - wait for IPS updating of that system.
    Thanks for attension!
    P.S. If you read my text with negative speach - it's wrong. I love IPS and just want to make attension for that problem and help others with their large communities.
