kysil Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Need options for Retina images uploads as Site logo etc.
opentype Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 There is no direct Retina support yet (e.g. alternative images, vector image upload) other than using larger images and scaling them down through CSS. The logo output is set in global template called “logo”. You might edit that to achieve what you want. The code would depend on how you want to achieve Retina support. There are several techniques in use today. Personally, I will just use a SVG image in a DIV container for my 4.0 site. Sadly, the main area where I currently don’t find a solution for Retina displays are the Emoticons. They look terrible on a Retina screen and there is nothing I can do about it.
kysil Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 The package itself is here http://www.kolobok.us/download.php?view.74 , but the author does not allow to use them for commercial purposes. If you find a solution, please let know.
opentype Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 There are of course hi-res emoticons out there. But in IPS 3.4 or 4.0 there doesn’t seem to be a way to show them in a Retina resolution, because as far I can see, you can’t control the output size of the emoticons.
kysil Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Yes, in high-resolution displays I not found the solutions.
sobrenome Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I can't understand why the responsive design of IPS 4 let the retina display out.
kysil Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Outside the window, already in 2015, while was still IPS commands end of 2011
kysil Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 Wow! We have The Progress! But still need Bottom "Pretenses" and nice Emoticons
kysil Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 bfarber, Why do not you like to integrate Emoji package?
iancassel Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Will the release version of IPS 4 allow uploading the normal and @2x versions of a logo in the default theme? Right now if you "try" to use a @2x version its obviously too large (not scaled down) and if you use a 1x version it looks hideous on retina displays compared to all of the elements (like Font Awesome) which are retina. It looks like the logo was added as an afterthought. Any suggestions? Is there already a bug report filed for this? Thanks.
opentype Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Any suggestions? Is there already a bug report filed for this? Thanks. It isn’t a bug. You need to manually change the logo templates to add your choice of hi-res screen supprt: Or I guess you could also use only CSS to force your hi-res image to a smaller size.
