I want to move a couple thousand users to a new member group. I understand IPS does not advocate editing things directly in the database, but it would save me many hours of editing individual records in the ACP. Can I edit member_group_id directly?

Hello, when creating a gallery category there is no way to set a category cover for it. It is only possible from what I discovered by creating said category. Then creating an album, uploading the cover image as a picture and set it as a category cover then HIDE the album. Way too complicated. Is there a more suitable way to achieve this?

I was reading some of the questions posted here on the forum, and came across this one and the recommended solution. Out of curiosity, I then checked up ACP-> System/Site Features/Applications/System/Moderator CP I've never changed any of these settings here before. When looking up permissions in this window, why do Guests and Members appear to have access to the Moderator CP module ("Can access module" box is pre-ticked)? Obviously, this setting is overridden somewhere as guest and members don't have such access, but why was it set this way apparently by default?

I adjusted settings for the Upcoming Events window to show 3 days, and max 5 events. We have a forum member in the US midwest-ish, one in New Zealand, and I myself in Europe. The composite screen grabs done at the same time on my call shows the puzzling picture, with the number of events available reflected in the US portion: Issues: 1. Of the 4 events available, why are all four shown for US members when the filter should remove entries for the 7th and 8th? 2. Why does a European member see the entry for the 8th? 3. The NZ member does not see entries for the 2nd. That's ok. But why doesn't he see the entry for the 8th if I do? …

Hello, for a couple of days, we've had many "Guests" all over the forum whose IPs all stem from compute.hwclouds-dns.com. Apparently from Kowloon, Hong Kong. Guests do have access to our forum, though they cannot post. An internet search of the IPs brings up all sorts of info: spammers, site crawling for info with disregard to robots.txt instructions... along those lines. Should I be worried?

Hello, I can see 100+ guest users watching my forum in the ACP group section at any given time. Is it a unique count? How do you recommend contacting them directly and making them register? I have already disabled watching important contacts for guests. Another question, How can i disable guest to view user profiles?

Hello, I have two issues with reputation Emotions, I am trying to configure the system to work like in this forum, as the user gets a notification for liked topics, for example. Where can I configure it? THe second iisue is that i want user to see all given like/thanks/+1 reputaion given. for now, it's not working, I can't see what other people gave.

Hello everyone, I read about the guide made by @ASTRAPI on integrating BackBlaze + CloudFlare with IPS4. https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/459262-community-guide-on-setting-up-backblaze-and-cloudflare/ I read through the guide and it seems there are some potential issues with attachments and downloads that might need workarounds. The pageview data I get from GA4 is very different from the data I see on my account page here at invisioncommunity.com. Any idea why such a large delta? Am I just looking it wrong? I would love to find out the IPS data is better as it shows about 5x more views that GA4. 🤷♂️

On Question-type forums, the default sort is set to order by Votes (comments with max votes will appear on the top). But when user's "Content View Behavior" is set to "Take me to comments I haven't read", s/he won't see the new comments if they received more votes and got pushed to the top. Or will s/he? When new comments get pushed to the top of the thread, how does a user see them with the content view behavior set as above? is there a setting to set the default order to "Sort by Date" instead?

QUESTION 1 Regarding: System > Settings > Posting > General > Images & Videos > Maximum Image dimensions to save If I set maximum dimensions for uploaded images, then it is shown that: If an image larger than these dimensions is uploaded, it will be resized to no bigger than the dimensions and the original image will be discarded. My question is whether setting max image dimension affects images uploaded prior to my setting this restriction? Hi! I've got two repeating (weekly) online events listed in the Events Calendar. On the main Events page, they show up perfectly: But, if I go to the search box and select only Online Events and search: The two online events don't show up. And they won't show up, even if I select the date on which they happen next. Do I have a setting wrong? Thanks in advance!

I migrated a little more than 8k users into IPS about a year ago. 7k of the 8k members are set as "Currently unsubscribed". I can only guess that this was done in the import process. Can I toggle all users back to "Currently subscribed"?

Is there a way to associate a specific topic with a specific event? I would like to be able to discuss about events within the forum. This idea comes from how it was handled in my (really) old PHPBB forum before upgrading to Invision. Basically, you could see a calendar with events but when you clicked on the event (on the calendar) it brought you to a specific topic.

Obviously, I've got a setting wrong somewhere, but I can't find it! We've created a private club that has more than twenty members. Everyone can see the club posts and can access the clubs page via the Menu Link under the "Forums" tab. However, only members in the Admin group see their club under the "Clubs" tab in the profile. Hi everyone, Back in 2005 (yes, 2005) I had an online community using IPB but ended up closing it. I purchased a license for IPS Community Suite that apparently expired in 2016 (it was actually a "lifetime" license). It's been a long time and I've forgotten a lot of things but I am now interested in re-starting a new community using the same license as I have already paid for it. I was informed by customer service that my license only covers IPS 3.4 and earlier, which I understand, but I cannot find where to download this software. Can anyone direct me as to where I can?
