Hi there, I remember that for versions after 2.0, the "IPS, Inc" part was not a hyperlink to IPS' site - from what I recall you did that because some of your customers are webhosts - who, of course, cannot be seen to link to their competition (just as you do not). However, I notice that you've linked the "IPS, Inc" portion again, meaning that you are again expecting webhosts and related organisations to be providing a link directly to a competing service. Might I enquire as to the reason behind this decision, or rather reversal of a previous decision?

I think it is the time for IPB to create new interface. We got many new features and I think it is the time to create new layout :) What others think about this?

I'd like to know if it is possible ( yet ) to merge two different boards together. I have 2 different Invision boards on my server, 2 different sites. I was wondering if it was possible to merge both together to eliminate one of them. Is this possible yet? If not, is there a possibility of this ever happening in the near future? This question never seems to ever get answered from searching the merging of databases questions asked thus far for Invision. Is there a tool for merging databases? Is it possible to move everything from one board to the other? If I pay for this service, can the staff at Invision actually do it? I know this tool exists, but not sure if it is a …

I would like to be able to make an entire group subject to pre-moderation. For instance. "Members" which is the default group, would be pre-moderated. After 1 post, they would be automatically promoted to "Full Member" which would not be pre-moderated.

Greetings My perpetual license has its one-year support expired about 7 months ago, and I need support to upgrade my 2.17 to 2.2 How much do I have to pay to get a support renewal? The new pricing says how much is that current yearly rat? and what is the procedure, I see no links to pay in my support console.

Suggestion about meta tags

Hello, I have a suggestion about meta tags. As you know meta tags are really important for search engines. But i couldnt see any built in feature for meta tags. When the site doesnt have meta information search engines show random content from site as a description. When you right click and view source of page you can see that <title> Site Title </title> But there is no meta tag for description + keywords. So i guess it is a miss featured at ipb because this option is already built in at other paid + free bulletin board systems.

Why does it say to upload files into cache/skin_cache/cacheid_1 ? Is that just saying we should upload them into each skin folder, renaming the files with the proper #? Or is it stating that templates are changed? WHat? Because obviously there is no directory to FTP to for the master templates!

This is something that always bugs me - when sending a PM, you have to check 'Message Tracker' (and the other option, which I can't recall at the moment) every time you want them. Would it be possible to have a user option for this, so that you can say 'Always track messages' by default? I don't know where feature suggestions are supposed to go at the moment, I figure this is the most likely place! :) ED: Yeah, I should probably have read the last part of the forum guidelines at the top.

Viewing users profile access through external URL

suggestion is it possible to make viewing profiles as external url like if someone click on users then they get to see the profile which links to www.yourdomain.com/forum/index.php?showuser=2 instead of that can it be like " www.yourdomain.com/forum/username could that be possibly done

Skin Suggestion

When you guys have the skin redone I think it might be advantageous to have a global box wrapper template bit instead of using the border wrap class thing. Having the class is great and all, but you really can't do everything you may want to do, especially if you want to do a very graphical skin. In order to do it you end up changing pretty much all the template bits. If there was a global wrapper I think it would highly reduce the amount of template bits that needing editing. Also would be cool to easily include template bits within template bits :). Something like: <template="skin_global.my_skin_bit($var, $var)" />

I think it would be good if on the IPS forums they had a area for pre purchase questions. I think it would help people who need to ask questions about any Invision Power product before they buy it. It could also maybe take a burden of the IPS support staff.

AJAX Save Template - Suggestion

When working with templates I tend to change something, save, then check it. Then go back and change it again, etc... Every time I hit the save button I loose my place and it gets irritating after a while. What would be neat is if the save template button was ajax powered so the position of the text box doesn't change when you save it. Maybe have a hot key to save it while you're working on it.

When editing my IPB license, I don't see a place to enter ACP username. Is this the same as ACP .htaccess username, or not? Also (slightly picky) logically the fields would make more sense ordered FTP Host, User, Password, and then the ACP details, then the .htaccess details - but that's just a suggestion. :)

Paided Subscriptions

Going from 2.1.7 to 2.2 somewhere I introduced a paid subscriptions problem. When a member pays for any of the subscriptions the money does through and no errors are generated on either end but it does not promote them like it is supposed to. Files are all current as of Fridays download of RC3 and tables look good. Any thoughts?
