Suggestions: Make the Member Profiles more like MySpace

It would be nice to allow for a guest preview for the member's profile. Where thet can only see pic and maybe some general info. Also if we can add more features such as the ability to add/link more pictures. Also can remote link to personal picture be added back? Any reasons why it was removed?

Pop Up Notification When Admin Notes Changed

I suggest a new feature that would enable it so that when someone changes the admin notes, all administration of that forum should recieve a pop up notification, either at the time, or if they are not logged in, when they log in. A simple notification would be fine, if you could include the actual notes, even better.

Hi, Does anyone else agree the IPS being greedy with their new license agreement. I have a IPB Standard License which has expired recently, as i have not not renewed the support, i have totally no access over my license at all. I asked IPS support if it would possible to provide me the KEY and change the URL they said NO, and asked to renew the support in order to have any changes. :blink: Doesn't the agreement said we can not download updates or get support unless we renew the license... Is there any mention that in order to modify forum URL and See license key we must have active support ??? <_< I did not had any plans to renew the license for next 2-3 mont…

Hi I am creating this community forum for a small community, almost like a larger extended family with distant relatives, weird uncles, crazy aunts, evil second cousins. It tends to get nasty sometimes when they get at each others' throats. Bad words filter is okay, but they can destroy each other merrily without using them and the board gets a bad rep for being a nasty place. Mostly it's the topics they sneak into the forums (even if not supposed to), and mostly that's about local small town politics. adding keywords in URL for google adwords

I'd like to have keywords in my urls for google adwords. if google adwords has not indexed a page, it is not sure what ad to serve. if it has keywords in the url, it serves up better ads. I ofund that simply adding a parameter served up better ads, such as "adkw=Music". I'd like to see my forum name as a keyword. when you click on the forum, such as music, it should show the normal showforum.php then adkw=Music as an ad keyword.

Something like this: Hi (username) it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to contribute something like helping other members or replying to posts.

Copy or move support topics to IPSB?

Would there be a way to move or copy support related questions over to IPSB? And then maybe have a link that points to the new location of the thread on IPSB? Perhaps include an automated PM to the OP telling them that they could also receive support by creating a ticket? A lot of the support questions seem like valid questions. It just seems to me that there has to be a smoother way than locking threads (in terms of customer support by a company that specializes in forums.) The strings of locked topics seem a bit ugly. Just a heads up, IMO, if you're going to force users into the dark, provide the information people need to make informed decisions about your product by answering the sales emails in a faster fashion. It gives users the impressions that things aren't answered very fast, and that very likely support won't be anything more than substandard. Again, just one users experiance during his presale investigation, not having an answer for more than 2 days now.

mass additions

I personally would like to see the ablity to make mass additions of members built into the board. I dont have many members yet banging down the door to join but I use the atk battle mod and have to create the battle bots one by one (pain in the jacksie lol) So I think it would be nice to be able to choose how many you want to set up in one fell-swoop thus saving presious time.

Feature Suggestion: Poor Man's Cron

I got the idea from a drupal mod. I figured I'd request it and see if anyone else did anything with it before trying to code it myself. The idea is to wed the SQL toolbox and task manager so that any query or queries can be run on a schedule. This would particularly help people using hosting with control panels that doesn't allow the creation of real cron jobs. The most obvious use would be automatically optizing tables. From a UI point of view, the easiest to use way of doing it would be to add an "add as task" checkbox to the "run as query" box.

Make Unblockable PM Groups really unblockable

The current Unblockable PM Group feature doesn't allow PMs to members who have their personal messenger disabled. IMO, it should be set that way by default as Unblockable PM Groups are most likely staff members. If they need to PM someone who's disabled their personal messenger, it's probably for a good reason. If it's not set that way by default, it should at least have some sort of sub-setting that says: Allow groups to override 'disabled personal messenger'? Yes/No :)

Currently the "expected format" field in the custom profile fields create/edit screen makes it so that the expected input is also bound by length and the variable entered. I'd like to see this expended to allow the use of regex so that we aren't stuck with situations like those mentioned in this post and "length" isn't a requirement unless you (the admin) make it one. :)

Alright.... I guess it makes sense that invisible posts can't be seen by members, even the creator to some degree. But being able to have the members see their own post if it was invisible is also very useful. So what I suggest is... Either make invisible posts/topics visible to their owners, or have two different types of invisible posts, clearly identifiable. My moderators see this as a very useful feature because they are able to talk with the poster as a group without the other members seeing the discussion. Also makes a help desk possible. Maybe instead of showing the shaded thing and the "queue" thing, if it's the type of invisible that the owner can see, show an …

I ahd mentioned that a while back and it never was done and now I just noticed there is 1 pending and I can't even freakin find where to go to do anything about it.
