Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted April 21, 200718 yr The topic title and description says it: In the interest of speed, I would like to have the orange icon be a bigger target to click so you don't have to be so precise with the mouse when trying to goto last unread.
April 23, 200718 yr You can just resize it in a graphics program and upload your own image can't you? That's the beauty of allowing IPB to be skinned.
April 29, 200718 yr I can resize an image, but I haven't been able to figure out where to upload or installthe personalized image so it's displayed in place of the standard orange icon. Can any end user of a public board do his own customization like this?
April 29, 200718 yr By "end user" I meant non-admin board users. From googling around, it appears this "replacement macros" customization issomething that is done through Admin Control Panel, not the user's "My Controls."It sounds like I might be out of luck. BTW, I'm not an IPB admin. I'm just a user of scifi.com's IPB and decided to post somesuggestions from the people over there including a couple of mine. This one is mineand sounds a bit trivial but was inspired by my having severe arthritis in my hand. <_< Is this the right forum for this?
April 29, 200718 yr The end-user cannot do something like this now. If you talk to your admin, and ask for him/her to make a special skin with larger images for you, I'm sure they'd do it. After that, IPB allows you to select each skin (per user), thus allowing you to have the larger images for "new post".Hope that helps, wish there was more you could do :|
April 29, 200718 yr Hi Digi,Okay, I see that this board has both a Skin Selector and Language pulldown on the lower left.scifi.com doesn't have the Skin Selector, only Language. It sounds like they would have to enable that pulldown as well. Thanks for the reply! :))
April 29, 200718 yr If not, they can still set your default skin manually in the admin control panel w/o enabling this selector. :)
