I have no dl access to the IPS Resources Site or the client area here, however I can access the Client area on the home page just fine. And after searching around here, I tend to think it is faster to ask here rather then submit a support ticket (though I dont mind doing that either). Thanks in advance. Where are the iframe hack threads?

I've been searching for discussion regarding hackers dropping an iframe into the board footer, because I am sure I took part in such discussions years ago and I need to read it again. So far though, every thread I turn up is marked as "moved", and when you click it, it just refreshes to the main IPB forum index. For example the thread titled "Attack Of The Iframe Bandit!" does it. Anyone know why this is happening, and more importantly - where I can find these discussions? Thanks.

View New Posts - Downloads & Gallery

I have been a happy owner of Downloads and Gallery since they were first released to the public and they have been functioning and working well on my site. Unfortunately ever since the first day of using them I have always wanted to see them intergrated in IPB's View New Posts option to be able to see when new topics or comments have been posted in either the Gallery or Downloads. I have been quite happy to sit and wait it out hoping that someone at IPS would come up with the idea or figure out the option is just missing but it hasn't happened :( There is no such feature in these modules, the only thing close to it is, "Recent Comments" in the Gallery but I think these …

[IPB 3.0 Request] More pluggable functions

Let me preface this with... I'm not a PHP expert, nor am I an expert when it comes to IPB's developer features. I use WordPress quite extensively and I love how easy it is to create, install and uninstall plugins! I gather this is because almost everything in WordPress is pluggable, allowing you to replace core functions with your own. I don't know what kind of plugin system IPB has (if any), but having to make manual file edits to install/uninstall a plugin is less than desirable. So here's hoping IPB 3.0 will have more pluggable functions, or at least be more plugin friendly!

I'm a third party trying to assist someone in adding your code to their site. I do not want their user name and password, nor should they be quick to give it to me. I very well could have helped them to get an additional tool on their site, had your forums been open for anyone to browse the support subjects. Since they aren't, my suggestion will be to move to a forum that is either free, or at a minimum does not lock their knowledge base from the casual viewer. While assisting people on several different boards, I've noticed only a few that do as you do, and hide the information. This can harm your business model. It's lost you at least one customer thus far.

In the ACP -> Board Guidelines -> You can see the "registration terms" and the "conditions & guidelines". I hope this option will be in the next IP.Board. This option can be found in the form of "posting new topic", it is also in the fast reply. With Pleasure, JEAN.

I would be happy to see that we started using the free javascript class SWFObject to do the embedding, since it takes care of browser quirks like IE having the click to enable overlay. There is so many different ways of embedding flash, but few works without quirks, some can't do preloading, some plain does not work and some has the mentioned IE quirk. While talking about this subject, there is a few parameters to the embed code, such as allowing fullscreen and javascript from the flash "movie" I think that the admin should be able to chose those parameters easily in the acp, without having to modify the php sources. Been a fan of IPB ever since the 1.3 days, and have had a license for nearly 2 years now and as always IPB pleases me. However there are a few things I would like to see to make IPB even better, and giving its users even more control over the software. RSS Exports First off, in the RSS export it would be really nice to have an option to include information about the poster such as name and post date, and an option to link to the actual post in that topic instead. Hi, Members of our forum asks us if it's possible to get the topic name in the Subject filed in the notification mail that is sent out. I tried to add "<#TITLE#>" in the text string that the ibf.lang.tt_subject variable is set to, but no topic name was "inserted" in the subject. The "<#TITLE#>" had just been replaced with "" in the notification mail . I have been trying to get the current version of IPB 2.3.4 from my client center however I am only getting a zip archive that is either incomplete or corrupted according to the message I get when extracting the zip. Can someone from IPS please look at the 2.3.4 download to see if there is any issues. I need to get a copy of this since I am in the midst of updating my boards. I'm having problems accessing the client area ticket submission page. when i click on the 'Your Ticket' link it process the IPB header and menus but doesnt display the ticket page, its all white. same thing happens for 'Your Purchases' but then i dont really need that.

Our forums are offline! - IPS driver error

I've put in 2 tickets, sent out pms and we have been offline since 10pm last night with no response from anybody. We are paying for 3 dedicated servers and cannot afford to be offline for over 12 hours with no response from anybody. I do not like posting out on the forum, but nobody is responding to me so really not sure what else to do.

I think (for a later version of IP.Board), that the "Manage Your Attachments" link in the UCP should be made to work with all of the 'plugin_' in the classes/attach/ folder. I mean, currently, the way to do it is to edit: (or make an alternate cache to handle different types that use different tables. Maybe add a bit more flexability to the system so it doesn't JUST handle posts/topics/msgs attachments but attachments upload using different plugins. I mean, maybe just add a new function to the 'plugin_*.php' file that would set-up the query (and for the defaults just use a cache query) to select the different attachments. I hate how all the ip apps plug into ipb making the forums the core, when really they should be native but even so i've persisted with it and use the portal as the home for my community page and have the forums (normal default for ipb) as a secondary app sort of like the blog and gallery. But the navstrip does not understand this! say: BOARD > CATEGORY > POST if i click board it takes me to the portal, this is a pain! it should be like: BOARD > FORUMS > CATEGORY > POST and then i click on board for the portal, but forums for forums etc at the moment, on the forums and portal it just shows BOARD and it links to the portal is their a way to get the n…

Hi guys, I had a problem after someone from invision upgraded my gallery. There are two tickets one regarding the problema and one regarding my complaint. Both have been flagged for the attenion of managment now for 4 days. Better emoticons management

I cant believe there is no easy way of managing the emoticons.... I uploaded more than 50 new emoticons, while trying to post a comment, I would like to have the most common emoticons first, but due to my upload it all got messed up and some huge emoticons appear first which makes the emoticons box unproportional is there a way to fix this right now or do we have to wait for an upgrade thanks

The new member profiles require small member photos, or it'll break the layout quite significantly. That's fine, but when I increased the photo size limit I expected the profile to act like any other part of the forum and reduce the photo size to fit the user's resolution. Instead it just showed the full size and broke the layout. It should display the scaled down version and then when you click on it a new window will pop up with the original photo size.

Hi. I come here to find out information about IPB products and click on "View new posts" to view new messages. I then have to pick my way through the posts about IPB and then the total garbage posts about everything from porn stars to music etc. In my opinion this makes this site look less than professional. If you insist on having an anything goes policy then could I suggest that in a future version you build in some function to prevent specific forum's posts from not appearing in the new posts list. People like me who want to only read about IPS products can then do so much more easily. Have to you I wouldn't allow all these rubbish posts at my site. It surprises…
