cam drysdale
I hate how all the ip apps plug into ipb making the forums the core, when really they should be native but even so i've persisted with it and use the portal as the home for my community page and have the forums (normal default for ipb) as a secondary app sort of like the blog and gallery. But the navstrip does not understand this!say:BOARD > CATEGORY > POSTif i click board it takes me to the portal, this is a pain! it should be like:BOARD > FORUMS > CATEGORY > POSTand then i click on board for the portal, but forums for forums etcat the moment, on the forums and portal it just shows BOARD and it links to the portalis their a way to get the navstrip to display the fact that your looking at the forums when not at the portal, and also link to the forums! Antony
I'd suggest using a HTML logic if in the appropriate template bit - no new PHP is needed.
Webwriter
I agree with you. I'm trying to treat all of my "core apps" as equal. IPB makes navigation a pain as longs as it insists as treating the forums as the real main page--despite any portal added. It's high time an upgrade took care of the problem by allowing Blogs and Galleries etc to reside NEXT to the Forums, not INSIDE them.
