So I was considering the complaints on spam and I remembered one thing that I think might help in alleviating some spam bots, it would require a source code change but I think it might be worth it. It might have already been changed in 3.0 but I think this might help: Change the Email address fields name. I truthfully think that there should be an option in security and Privacy that allows you to set the field name so that it is not the default EmailAddress. I'm pretty sure as long as it's inserted properly it will work just the same as having the field named EmailAddress. I did some searching and nothing yielded any good results. What is the status of integrating posts to just a plain HTML website? I'd like to do something of a news feed that gives my latest topics. I did a search on this and saw something about SSI, and I vaguely remember something about XML. But the search didn't yield anything good, and I know this question has been asked before. If anybody's got any good links that describe this thought already, that's good enough for me. Thanks.

3.0 is on its way... I have few mods on my site, if i upgrade my board to 3.0 probably those mods are not going to be ready for 3.0 Can i keep the old mods on the system until i get the upgrade scripts for those mods??? or new 3.0 upgrade will wipe those mods off????? Thanks

For the purpose of a test board, is it possible to disable email notifications from the board? While I was testing BETA 5, I posted in some topics that members were subscribed to and they were sent a notification linking them to the test board. I emptied the tracker table after that of course. I think even if you leave the outgoing email address blank in the email settings, email is still sent... it'd be nice if you left that blank, outgoing email was disabled.

It would be nice if there were a setting that if there were either no avatar or no personal photo that one override the other. As such say I didn't have an avatar or I deleted my avatar but still had my personal photo that the personal photo would take over the places an avatar would. As such I would like it in a vice versa way. That way if you had a community of Avatar uploaders but didn't like to upload their personal photo images won't be vacant but also images that would be vacant wouldn't be so required to seem human.

Howdy, I got a mail that I need to renew my license soon. I wrote a mail back to the billing email adress (just used the answer function) because I had a question, but never got a replay. I never got a replay from any of the posted email adresses from the contact site :( Now I tried to open a ticket, hopefully that will help ^_^ Cheers Chris

Seeing as how cool new "facebook"-like features were added such as the popup view of profiles, do you think it would be a good idea if the same concept was applied to the login system? I don't know if you have heard of scribd; if you haven't go to scribd.com. On that website if you click "Login" you will see a ajax? popup prompting you to login, as well as logging in via openid. I think this feature would be a better replacement of the "quick-login" feature found in ipb 2.3. I know IPB isn't focusing on adding new features to 3.0 right now, so maybe if the results of the poll are positive, it could possibly be added to 3.1?

Match Languages to button sets

OK, lets say I have English and Spanish in my language selector. When a user changes to Spanish, all the content changes, as it should so. However, the buttons do not, this means my skin list looks like this: Skin 1(English) Skin 1(Spanish) Skin 2(English) Skin 2(Spanish) This is silly, there should be an option that says "If user's language is set to *** use which image directory?" The "redirect form" is good for sending certain topics anywhere you want, but the only useful piece of information it shows is how many "hits" that link has gotten. Since the board index stats are cached, it would be neat to have an RSS option for the form redirect to pull in details similar to actual form categories. This could be useful if you wanted to pull in information from the bug tracker and show the last bug report replied to, how many bug reports there are, and replies, etc.... You could make the bug tracker seem like it's a form category. But since it syncs with RSS, you could do this with just about anything :) .

Hi, My apologies if this has already been discussed, but I've noticed when using the Fast Reply to reply to a topic in IPB3.0, my signature is added automatically. The option to decide if I wanted to Enable Signature in IPB2.x was very useful, as it prevented topics from containing too many signatures and looking messy. If I don't want my signature appearing more than once in a fast reply topic in IPB3.0, I have to go to Edit, then switch to the Full Editor, and then untick the Enable signature box, which I think is time consuming and over complicated. The Enable Smilies checkbox in IPB2.x always seemed superfluous, but Enable email notification of replies and …
