I'm not sure if this is a bug, or just an additional option that they're testing, but there is no minus button on posts. Is this on purpose? Is this an option that you can turn on or off?

I'd just like to say that you guys are the BEST! IPB3 looks much more professional than others like vBulletin, and I've watched some videos of the Admin Control Panel too. BFarber, and whoever else worked on IPB3, congratulations on building the best forum software currently in existence! At the moment, the only thing I can suggest is "Ajaxifying" the User CP options - Not having to save for each panel of options would be a first in all forums that I know of. I'm currently waiting the last half an hour until the amount needed is deposited in to PayPal from my bank, then I am going to buy IPB and try it for myself. :)

I had an idea, is it possible Ips can add a name feild as part of the sign up proccess where its not required but option, and this feild can be used to when sending e-mails from the board it address the Name insted of the username.. thoguht this might sound more professional to refer to soone by name (if the include it) insted of account name, just an idea

Hi, I use the Portal / Homepage system that comes standard with 2.3. Will there be a similar stock Portal / Homepage / CMS system with the final release of IPB3? I'd like be able to have a place for portal blocks like random gallery image, Latest Discussions, New Members, etc. Thanks! (w00t) :zorro:

I received an error log in my email, I only have 6 current testing members but this is what I got in the error email: The IP doesn't tie to any accounts on my site it resolves to: svservers.com which looking at the site seems a tad off the wall. Could it be a security flaw with IPB or FB Connect? Maybe a spam bot? I'm lost on this one. The error code is: 90001 The error message is: An error occured while attempting to authorize this Facebook Connect action The user who saw this error is: Guest The IP address of this user is: ##.###.##.### (Hidden) Please login to your Admin Control Panel to use the error log viewer tool for further information.

When the user received an PM Email, a few member started replying to an email instead of clicking on the link to direct to Messenger. They think its an email because it include PM content in the email. When they start replying to an email, it direct to an Admin (forum) email. Is there any way to switch off the PM content in the email.

So after playing around with the Custom Profile Fields in IPB 3, I was wondering about a few things. In IPB 2.3, Custom Profile Fields were displayed on the Profile Page of a the user. In IPB 3.0, they are not. Is there anyway to get them to be displayed on the Profile Page of the user without having to edit the skin? Team Icons also used to be displayed on IPB 2.3 on the profile page of the user, now they aren't. I guess the question here is also the same as above, any chance of this being changed, or will it have to be through skin edits?

Okay, let's start with the good things that I like about it: 1. Looks great! 2. Google indexing :) Now the things that I don't like: 1. File structure = confusing I been looking for something for over an hour now and everywhere I turn all I see is "sources", "admin", "modules_admin" and "modules_public". Everything looks the same, same directory/file names no matter what you want to do. 2. Data structure = where is it? In 2.3.x, the main post view data was loaded in the ipsclass.php file, I have no clue where it is now, been round and round these /dirs/ for over an hour and can not find "userInfoPane" to save my life. I have browsed through the articles here …

Why I type below 4 characters at search field and it show this One or all of your search keywords were below 4 characters or you searched for words which are not allowed, such as 'html', 'img', etc, please go back and increase the length of these search keywords or choose different keywords. Can I set to search the word below 4 character in the coming version?

Hi, i use IPB 3.0 RC1. When i go to edit topicViewTemplate, for activate the "Back to top" button, my fast reply dont work fine. The bottun of fast reply are fixed, not clickable. I just edit the class of <li class="top hide"> in <li class="top">. Any change in topicViewTemplate brings me to an error in the fast reply. Even the simple save buttom with no customization. How i can fix it?

Hello folks, Why don't you add a quick login box to IPB 3.0.0? As facebook, you can add the quick login to the right top of the page. I could not locate any other topic that is talking about the same issue as mine. :)

One of the "slowest" IPB queries is the member profile page when people view the tab to see a members recent topics/posts. The MySQL Select statement (even with indexing) takes some time on a large DB with lots of members. My suggestion to reduce this is to add a little "up front" work to reduce these query loads. Basically I am suggesting adding two columns to one of the tables (members, members_extra, etc.) that contain the last ten topics/posts the member has posted. The list could be in a single cell (comma separated list) and easily loaded with a single query. PHP can then explode the list and treat it as a FIFO and add a new post / topic ID and remove the old. …

Playing around with my board for the past few weeks, I'm not finding all to many bugs or issues that are 'big problems' - Do we need to go to beta 4? Or can it go to final so I can start my live board? No attacks people :P I'm asking an honest question, I just want to install the board so it won't expire and I can start building content and open them up for the world to start contributing to the boards on my site. Or maybe make Beta 4 upgradeable, that would make me a happy camper too :D

Hi. Many users of my forum asked me if it was possible to have a mobile version of the board, and I told them there was the lo-fi version of the forum. But another problem came up: it isn't possible to post with the lo-fi version. Are you going to put a postable lo-fi version? If not, it is possible to make a mobile version?

Hellooo, Well, i have a hard time figure out how to set up IPB Portal! and maybe others have it to!' But, what about BFarber Portal as difficult @ an IPB Portal! its easy to add menu's, and images etc!, and you can like add addons/plugins.. And everyone be happy :D(most me) Just a suggestion!! - From a guy who don't like to sweat over the keyboard :D
