In IP.Board 2.3, you only received a single notification email when someone made a response to a topic you were subscribed to. You then would not receive further emails until you visited the thread. In IP.Board 3.0, you receive an email every time someone responds to a topic. You could easily have 50 emails from a single topic before you go and visit the thread to get caught up. Was this done intentionally or should I file a bug about this behavior? I much prefer just the single email, not to mention the reduced overhead in not sending out so many emails. Thanks, ..Al

starting a private conversation with someone: click the button, it ajax's the form in front of you, you type the subject, tab, type the message, tab, hit enter to return and the focus isnt the send button, but the search button so hitting return has sent you to the advanced search function. tab return to send would be nice in the same way as tab return in new post form submits the form. If I recall correctly, the subscription manager does not allow you to renew your subscription until the day it expires. All of my members have found this an annoying feature because they plan on purchasing subscription in advance (thus adding to the few days they have remaining of subscription). Could it be possible to have this feature implemented?

All those who have some translated languages need a good language manager... But, also need a good updating for our languages with no kind of problems... We translated the language in v3.0.0 or v3.0.1 so we didn't want to "retranslate" again or see all pages again when updating... When updated from v 3.0.1 to v3.0.2 ALL translated strings appeared as "Out of Date Entries" so it was very, very, very difficult to find the new strings that had to be translated... For example, "core/public_usercp" has 438 strings, and no more that 20 bits were new, but I had to pass page per page for finding the new strings and translate them and when passed and updated ALL pages then…

Hi, I have mine set to 'Show me all new content'. However I am finding a lot missing. For example all the threads that I am watching do not appear - overnight I had 3 or 4 emails, but none of theses are in the list. Is this a bug, or am I understanding it wrong? It is also not showing all the new posts in the forums - several are missing.

I email/admin validate new accounts on my forum. My normal workflow involves searching Google and StopForumSpam.com for the username (if fairly unique), email address and IP address. I also do a location looking on the IP address. Based on this information, I can almost always catch spammers before they are validated. However, the options at the bottom of the "Member Validating Queue" do not include, "Mark accounts as Spammers". What I typically do is outright delete the accounts. This does not help Invision's new spam system since no information is passed along to Invision. Presumably I would have to click on each individual account and then click the "Flag Member …

I remember a Brandon saying a few months ago that he had customized the warn system for TWOP and in the future he'd like to expand upon what is offered by default in IPB. IMO the Warn System should be the primary medium for discipline for my community. In its current state, I feel as though it is fairly useless -- essentially a notepad that each user may or may not choose to view. What are some of your suggestions for the warn system? How about when a warning is issued, forcing the user to acknowledge it before proceeding with any further activity on the board? Sure, you could send the user a PM via the warn panel, however that is fairly cumbersome and not connected…

Can ipb_rtl.css file is not editable through ACP like other css files ? Also changes in classes like pre.prettyprint has to be done in both ipb_styles.css and ipb_rtl.css in case of RTL is used Can such changes can be made in one location in the future

I was hoping to avoid posting here, as I am not one for saying 'eh answer my problem!', and have kept quiet whilst others have posted. I am a new client, and whilst I appreciate I have phone support I decided to put a ticket in. I waited for 2 days, and got no response. I have since updated the ticket, yet still not joy. I called an hour ago, sadly despite being first in the queue, I was put through to a third party company who told me they are just there to take messages, and to call back in 30 minutes if I did not get an email, as I could not be called back as I am UK based. Hi, Sometimes's hard even for developers (modders and skinners) to work with all your products at least on this case. We've purchased the licence of IP.Board just for work on it but's a little bit irritating when our clients find issues with the IP.Gallery, IP.Downloads and IP.Blog. We'd like a Community Suite (non fuctional at all) just for testing purposes {Even a Beta}. Or at least a private demo board (timed like the actual demo version). But's a little bit unfair pay for something that we won't use at all... at least a discount? Regards,

It is my opinion that, since the new ban system has been introduced, the old method of creating a dedicated banned group is now redundant with one exception. When a user is banned with the new method or via the automated spam service they still appear in the member list. I submitted this as a bug report but apparantly this is working as intended. I think this is strange intended behaviour as to me this is what I would call a "suspend" feature rather than a ban. So my suggestion is add a setting in the ACP to hide banned members allowing us to remove the dedicated banned user group. Alternatively extend the new ban functionality to include a seperate "suspended" state …

I think it would be a good idea to explain the reputation system to users through the help topics or maybe even a "what's this?" style popup icon next to the reputation icons. Even better might be instead of the plus and minus buttons use the more common thumbs up, thumbs down "Like this" terminology?

Ideally, when users click on a link posted on a topic, the link should open in a new window and the following message would appear right before the redirect: "We are taking you to the requested link... You are now leaving xxxx.com". Perhaps it could be included as an optional setting in future IPB releases, just like in the Links System mod....

email limitation : solution needed Either an option in Bulk Mail or a separate Bulk Mail option (alternative) to cram groups of people into the BCC field of an email to be sent out instead of individual custom emails per member? I know that the downside would be not being able to address each member individually (ie, can't use certain tags to address a member), but the benefit would be that those with limited emails per hour or with slower boards could get more emails out and delivered using only one email per cycle to cover the same number of members. At this point, profile fields are not listed in translation menu. I guess that's because board admins can alter and add as much as they like. In the front end of the board however, this means that people choose a language, but when entering a profile, everything is in english (and there are many people in this world that do not speak english well enough to understand everything). Off course Board Admins can translate these fields into the native language of their board, but then English people using the english language will be confronted with that native language. when I try to enter a thread in the CCS resources forum, I am told I have no permission to do so. I am registered and logged in. One such thread where I get this error is: http://forums.invisionpower.com/topic/291844-showing-off/ I own the Community Suite and CCS too, so that can't be the reason. Please let me know what the problem is. I hope this is the right place as I didn't want to open a support ticket for something like this. PS: The "contact admin" link I saw when I got the error message is a mailto link that points to admin@ibforums.com - I sent this text to that address and it bounched back saying there is no such e-mail address.

I would like Subscription Manager enhanced so I can offer free trial packages to my community. I could simply set the amount to $0 to signal a free package type but I suggest supporting it specifically by adding a "Add Free Package" menu item under Manage Packages because I'd like it tracked by IP address to help ensure that each user can only try the "free trial" once even if they create a new account. Okay, you know the little change threshold button in a topic? That's directly related to rep right? I was wondering if there is a way to turn that to "all posts" by default in every topic for all users. Or if there's a way to shut that off but keep the rep system on. If there's not for either of those, I think there should be one. As I don't like the idea of not being able to see all posts unless I click that in every topic, and members not even knowing it's there.

I know what is about to be said, "submit a ticket". To submit a ticket for IPS to come to my site seems a bit odd to me. I downloaded (again) and uploaded (again) the latest v3.0.2 from my client area. What is it that IPS can do now that the files could not? Should the files on my site work any differently than the files on anyone else's? My problem right now is my BB Code no longer works (by that meaning the js that adds the BB code to the textarea) with FF. Maybe IPS should take another look at their latest release and really fix it, no one should have to come to my site to fix a raw update like this. Maybe I missed it, but I'd like to have a separate password for the Admin CP from the forum password for the admin account. I know I could probably just create a separate account for accessing the Admin CP, but it is more convenient to admin both the board and the Admin CP from the same account. Since you have to log into the Admin CP from a special login page, it makes sense to me that the Admin CP password be completely separate from the board password.
