Sorry but I have to say, it's horrific. The view new posts feature on IPB2 is excellent, is used regularly on my forum for members to easilys view the latest posts in all forums. There is just something wrong, there is less info, but it's not easy on the eye, at all. I assume this is how it's going to be as we've reached this stage.

Since the new resources section is missing most articles about hooks. and the hook overview help article in the IPB admin is also missing, can someone post a very basic overview of how hooks are created and implemented within IPB templates?

Ok so perhaps this isn't necessarily a bug, but I do see it as a usability issue (which I have reported usability issues in the tracker before, and they were actually sorted). Basically the reason why you have to login to the AdminCP panel separately is because the session id has to be in the URL to prevent a hijacker from redirecting you to an ACP option with your active session (cookies was explored, but it was too risky). I believe, however, usability for the administrator can be improved by pre-filling the email address into the login box and putting focus on the password box. That way all the admin has to do is put their password in. Or better yet add the session…

I'd like my mod to take advantage of the output class logErrorMessage and SendErrorNotification functions. They are called from output::ShowError but I need some inline error messages that I want to log and notify, and not stop execution with a big red ShowError message! I can get at these functions by extended the output class with a subclass of my own. But is there any reason why these particular functions are not declared Public?

On the "Members Spam Queue" page, can you please add an option to the drop-down at the bottom of this page to "Delete Members"? I have been marking obvious spammers on the "Member Validating Queue" page so the information gets sent to Invision. However, I then want to delete these spammers as they don't need accounts on my system. However, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do that. Thanks! ..Al

http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/295868-jquery-problem-on-ccs-page/page__pid__1861814__st__0&#entry1861814 I've got a very large IPB + CCS project in the works and it's going to take more than one person to get the job done. I instructed someone that works for me to post the question above so we can move forward through some technical issues. This has come up before but the answer wasn't adequate. How does an organization of more than one person get support for this product without everyone using the same account?

Hi I currently have a perceptual IPB license, and I'm still pondering as to whether I should upgrade my forum to 3.0.3? [*]Is 2.3.6 still stable enough for the next 2-3 months?[*]There are many, many features which are in IPB 3, which are fairly attractive[*]I'm sure most of yous will say "Yes", but I also have to pay for mod and skin upgrade fees.. so please, tell me if it's worth it Cheers:D

Apologize if this has been suggested, I think it would be a nice feature if, instead of having to close a "troubled" topic, we could instead require moderator preview of all new posts made to that topic. People could still post, but everybody's posts would require approval before they would show up. This would allow a good-intentioned topic which attracted flaming to stay open, but still prevent it from remaining an issue.

Ok, so I am about to run a Subdreamer site (nothing fancy) and the main component of the site will be the forums. I am looking at using IPB, but I am terrible with skins, just terrible. I've tried, i've failed, i've moved on. How easy is it to find someone on here to skin the forums to the same as the site (with all of the information, images and everything provided)? Of course, this would all be at a price, at the skinners discretion (nothing unreasonable though). Also is there anyway to pay for someone to integrate the forum into the rest of the site? Whilst I can and have done it before, i've never used Subdreamer or IPB before, and will almost certainly screw up som…

I've searched around and haven't found any help on editing skin templates. If I've missed it, please give the link. Otherwise, please make documenting skin templates a priority. I don't quite understand what all the possible control tags do or what the allowed syntax is for them. I've been making my edits by just following the existing templates. For example, I'm not quite sure what the (possibly optional?) arguments to the "<if test=" where there seems to be an optional id followed by a ':|:' followed by what appears to be a php expression. What is the significance of the optional id? I'm assuming it might hold the value of the test so it can be used later in the te…

When I want to PM someone, I usually click their name or visit their profile page. Upon visiting either one I click the little PM icon, in which pops up the quick PM. In almost every case I'm sending a member a PM to include something he/she ordered, which requires a PM attachment upload. However, the quick PM has no way to upload or go to the full editor. So I must then remember their username, go to the Messenger, compose a new message, type it out. Is it too difficult to add a simple "Go Advance", "Use Full Editor" or something along those lines in the quick PM pop up, that can send the current data in the textbox, or skip it into the main large PM editor box.

If you visit forum page where you don't have an access you will get an error message. That's right. But in title should be name of topic/category nevertheless. Not only "Board message". This makes lot of duplicate content. Google doesn't like it and me too. For example. My Shoutbox is not accessed by guests. They get an error message. But in title should be " Our board's Chat Room" and not only "Board message". It's ugly.

This should be a standard feature, but I see it's not. Applications can add there own, but there is no way of editing, adding, or removing any of them? Why has this not been added in before? Seem's rather simple to me. Please add for IPB 3.0.4! Especially since CCS allows you to have custom pages, just no way of getting to them, nice. ;)

Allow admins to create "search templates". Each search template would add a tab to searching and would add defined parameters to the search (in addition to the keywords entered). Admins could then create a search template that searches in x forums, y albums, z download categories, etc. One obvious application is combining all support related resources into one search. If you're feeling adventurous you could even create a "What's new in Customer Resources" search that would add a date restriction to it. [edit] Bonus points if you can allow inserting of search boxes that default to a template into the skin :D

I am having users complain that there is now no "bar" to separate pinned topics versus actual new ones. Am I just missing something? Also, they cannot find LO FI mode either. And, neither can I! :) Yes, it is not hidden according to admin panel. Thanks!

It would be very nice to have option that will allow us to revalidate our users emails. I have board with over 1000 members and i would like to delete those of them that do not have active email. Unluckily now i haven't got such an option and doing it manually would be time-consuming.

It seems to me that heated/contentious topics can often cause flaming/trolling and excessive use of positive and negative reputation. A single topic could skew reputation values for certain members. Good moderators often close topics that are overly inhabited by flaming/trolling posts. Much better that than hide them completely. What I am thinking is that it would be good if, once a topic has been closed, that it should be no longer possible to add/subtract reputation from posts in that topic. Similarly for topics with polls. Once closed, no more voting.

I am pretty good when it comes to thinking of ways to misuse a system. As such it would be nice to have these two features built into the Reputation System to prevent abuse. 1) Set a maximum number for how many Negatives/Positives a certain member can assign another. I have my system set up to allow 10 positive and 5 negative votes per day. It would be nice to set up a monthly or weekly limit so that one member cant constantly use his pos/neg votes against 1 member. Maybe like "Only allow 10 Negative votes per month against any given member", the same would have to be done for the Positives so people couldnt just buddy up to inflate their numbers. 2) Another way to ab…

Remove "Powered by Invision Board" from the first page title 1 2 3

I completely understand the need for for Invision to advertize its own product. I have nothing against a discrete "Powered by Invision" link at the bottom of the page. Yet, on the first page of the forum the HTML title gets polluted by a lengthy "Powered by Invision Board". Frankly, I think this behavior hurts the user experience; and in the same time discourage potential webmasters from going to IP.Board. The webmaster is not going to think "aha, this is an IP.Board"; he is simply going to think "argh, will I get such an ugly Invision label on top of my web pages too?". Then, for the average visitor (who do not care about IP.Board, because he has no clue about the techn…

Over the past 4 years I have steadily kept purchasing IPB products.....I am now just short the IP Gallery module. Any chance for a yearly upgrade package for all the modules?

After reading a topic and getting to the bottom I would be nice to have a breadcrumb after the last reply. This is a feature many other boards have, I was able to edit templates in 2.3 to do this but unable to mimic it in 3.
