just a suggestion regarding the Latest News is it possible to have a scrolling left to right or right to left news ticker near the top of the board, that way all news items would be seen and the user could click a title to be taken to the that post for further reading. Also have an option in the ACP to turn it on/off, and possibly change the look,scrolling speed etc.

It seems IPB's email settings are too limited and don't allow for the outbound mail to use an encrypted port and/or authenticated B. smtp which is insecure. Because of this we are having limitations on email. If we encrypt smtp, then IPB won't work. A hacker can "sniff" our traffic unencrypted and determine passwords, usernames, etc. The solution to this is as follows: 1. IPB to have configuration options for encrypted snmp and appropriate ports. 2. IPB to have configuration options to allow for authenticated snmp. Hi, Could we have a "Option configurable" mods area where the admin can enable features for Mods like "Change Username" and also allow them to "Change user groups" for members - But admin can specify the groups they have access to change them to e.g. Select which groups a moderator can change: (Ctrl+click to select multiple) [members] [competition winners] [premium] [banned] & Enable moderators to edit usernames: [Yes/No] Cheers,

I've done a lot of editing of my forum skin in the control panel. I want to make a copy of the skin that I can work with and view quietly, without messing up the skin the community sees. Is there a way to copy my customized skin so I can do this?

I have been administrating forums for about 3 or 4 years now and I have used phpbb, smf, vBulletin and (now) IPB extensively. I have to say that IPB has been the best so far. You have a superior product and exceptional support. Thank you Invision Power Services for all that you do! :wub:

I use a MemberSync class to make a bridge between IP.Board and an other application. Everything works fine except when I logout the forum, I would like to logout the other application. Perhaps, IPS devloppers can add a IPSLib::runMemberSync( 'onLogout', $member ) call function in 'admin/sources/handlers/han_login.php' : To make us sure to not modify sourcecode after every update ? Hello! I am wondering if we could get some sort of system like this for faq and rules in IPB. Atm we just have a plain page with text on (boring for such a beautiful board right). Would love to have a more "clean design" and easy navigation (jump directly to a rule by cliking a link) just like in phpBB. I hope you could consider it.

I don't see the community forums anymore and wanted to know where can one find them at? As well as resource page that was were the IP Marketplace is current at, don't show the community area in the category list. Could anybody point out where they are now currently?

I know I've raised this before, in particular with IPDownloads, but I really do need to figure if it's just me or is anyone else struggling to figure how the search system actually queries the dbase?. Over the past few months I've struggled to find things in our own IPDownloads section, although I know for a fact they are there. I know this may be better placed in the IPDownloads section, but I'm sure the search system is IPBoard based, rather than just IPDownloads based. Hi, Just wondering why there are still no export and import options for Ban Filters? I have a long list of flamers, trolls and anti-social losers that I've accumulated over the years and I want to import it into a new baord's ban filters but there is sadly still no option to do this. How about adding an XML export and import option to make it easier? Thank you!

I have some suggestions, something I think would be somewhat useful for IPB. Allow threads to be tagged with keywords, like a tag cloud and allow tags to be searched. When tags are searched, it will bring up the threads tagged with a specific keyword. I would also like to suggest to allow unique meta descriptions/keywords to be inputted for specific threads, sort of like what Minerva SEO did with their SEO module for IPB 2.3.x. A couple other things, make the nofollow attribute affect all links, not just user posted links or links in posts. Does IPS make sure that there products are up to part with the coding so that they pass W3 PHP/CCS/HTML/XHTML standers? Just looking up the main community page I find 20 Errors, 17 warning(s). I ask cause web browser try to keep up with the main flow of the code.

I have submitted ticket #705789 after checking the: Please check this box if your issue is critical and causing your community to be offline or otherwise completely unusable. Checkbox. My site is down and unreachable accept by ACP since installing the IP.Nexus upgrade. It has now been nearly six hours and I have yet to receive any help. Please watch this very short video demonstration (30secs): Can you get that to function within bbcode without having to enable html for normal users to post videos embeded starting at a specific time point please? (currently all videos will start at the start regardless) Would help my community a lot. I'm sure it would be easy to tweak the code perhaps on next version to allow this feature fully? P.S. For example look at my embed code, it is set to start after intro at 4secs, but does not do so.

Seems a rather low figure, and one that most sites would go over. Was hoping it would be say 20 rather than 5, which is a reasonable number for a small community. One would have to question whether it would be worth installing at all if a site was limited to 5 - would be better sticking with the shoutbox.

This forum needs to be available to all users, however, the posts can only be seen by the user who created it (not other users)- and the admin/mods. This is something that would be fantastic in my current forum. Any chance of this? Cheers
