I just wanted to list the things that are absolutely crucial for the RSVP functionality. 1) show or hide RSVP'ed members Sometimes an event organizer needs to hide the number or name of people registered as if member see little interest they have no will to rsvp thinking nobody will come. This is why we hide our rsvp list and only the person making the event post or moderators/admins can see the list. If you want to show the list you can but that should be an option to hide it. 2) Members need to be able to easily know that they are rsvp'ed if they go to the calendar event. 3) Members should be able to add guests or guests should be able to rsvp themselves if the…

I added to a post on the tracker that mentioned this very issue but I am afraid it was missed or not acknowledged so I wanted to make sure the community was aware and get feedback on this issue from both ipb and members. In 3.2 anybody can rsvp for an event BUT only the person who started the event in the calendar, or an admin/mod, can un-rsvp someone for an event. This is a big issue for people like myself who have a board based around events. We need to have very accurate counts of people attending these events and making members send an email to us everytime they want to un-rsvp is going to be a nightmare to manage when events have 400+ people. Take for example an …

A problem that many sites suffer from is people replying to topics that are 1, 2 or even 3 years old or more. Would be nice to have an 'old topic warning' beneath the reply box. With a warning saying something like 'This topic is more than 400 days old. It is very likely that it does not need any further discussion and thus bumping it serves no purpose. If you still feel it is necessary to make a new reply, you can still do so though.' The a tick box that says I am aware that this topic is rather old but I still want to make a reply. Unless they tick the box, they are unable to reply. This should reduce the amount of bumping with spam old topics or for no r…

I noticed that one thing different between IPB and vB is that vB communities have direct links to posts in search results where IPB does not. Example: http://www.google.co...forus.com+error These search results should show posts (and other content) with the word error, right? Second link down is Too bad for you US Government - Board For Us Notice how the link is directly to the topic, even though the word "error" is several posts down. Before someone mentions that the post is probably showing up deeper in the results list, there are only four pages of results (in the expanded list which includes duplicate results), and that is the only link to that thread, even thou…

Suggestion: Signature Font Size

I think it's pretty obvious that there should be a setting to adjust the max font size on people's signatures....pretty basic but yet so crucial feature to be added by default. Hope this will be added soon

Hi, I'm unable to access the Customer forum. Is this because my IP.Board license needs renewing? Cheers, Shaun :D

Thank you for removing the dialog box that used to pop up when reloading the online users list with a filter applied. That was really annoying, and it's much easier to use now. Awesome idea! :)

Back in the day when the 'alt' tag was a problem for small images/icons and everyone with IP Board was ranking high for the keyword 'icon' I remember changing mine in a sorta black hat SEO kinda way to target 'music production' (as that is what my community is about). It was very successful and got our community much higher ranking. Now I know that was a bit naughty because the icon image had nothing really to do with music production, but it showed me the power of ALT image tags, as I never realized there heavy weight before on Google's algorithm. Fast forward to today and I am wondering if there is a way to ALT Tag all user images in threads/posts with 'music producti…

I think I've made one of these posts before, but I felt another was appropriate with 3.2 now released. IP.Links was one of the (if not the) first 3rd party application released for IPB 3.0 utilizing not only the new application structure at the time, but also all of the various extensions available to add on applications. It was incredibly easy to integrate my application with IPB3 using these extensions making it feel like it was part of the core product. Fast forward to today with the release of 3.2, and while I haven't been near as quick to adopt the new features as I was with IPB 3.0, it has been equally as easy to do so. So far I have implemented the "Like" syste…

I have been with IPB since Ikonbard and during all that time I must say that no other online company has managed to impress me as much as IPB for their professional services and support. Every ticket I have put was always answered quickly and solved as if I was dealing with high level wizards. I can t recommend IPS enough to other companies. Thank you again

I was wondering if in the next update that the code could be tweaked so that those of us who want to underline all our links could turn link underlining on and not have all the blank spaces underlined. You can see what I mean in the pic attached.

It is possible to give a person tons of notifications about a single post by spamming the Like button. They will get a notification when it's Liked, then with every subsequent Like by the same person if they Unlike and Like it again... if they do that over and over, it can become an annoyance. Can there be some sort of limitation on the notifications of Likes for the same post from the same member?

So, as you probably heard (it's a pretty big deal) Facebook is rolling out a set of changes under the name Timeline. This generally means facebook will put more effort in showing users current activities WITHOUT them having to actively do this. So, I was wondering, what's the odds of IPS developing a Facebook application so members can share the topics they are viewing/replying to, products they buy on IP.Nexus, downloads on IP.Downloads, Blog posts on IP.Blogs etc etc? The music industry is clinging on to it, the games are clinging on to it and magazines are clinging on to it. it's a matter of time before the first forums jump on the bandwagon- question is if IPS…

Ip.seo is a fantastic add-on with a bewildering array of settings. The trouble is I don't know what many of those settings should be. Is there a guide to configuring ip.seo? I want to get the most out of its comprehensive features.

This processing now requires the admin to step through a number of pages - so my suggestion is can we make it easier. My current process (discounting the fact that on a desktop you can use "right click open in new tab" Login to ACP Default page is "Dashboard" Observe "Pending Validations" in Items requiring Attention" Go to validating members page using "Click Here for more Details" Click on Validating Member Click on Profile tab and scroll to bottom of page (thats where the responses to site unique questions are displayed. Scoll back to top of page From drop Down select "Validate Member" When you do this the page then takes you back to the "Manage members" pa…

Is it just me or are the ips forums, topics, posts, gallery, blog etc pages taking ages to load and getting quite annoying (even happens on the ips main page) am not referring to my forums ... all of the ips site itself. Have been experiencing this for some time now and happens at various times of the day. Or is it because am in the UK and so there will be a slow page load (although never used to happen) ?? Does anyone else have this problem ?

I'm not sure this is the correct place to put this. But here goes ... I'd like to be able to mail messages out of specific forums on my site into a mailman mailing list. This list could then distribute the messages to whoever may request them. It would be driven by a parm on the Forum setup screen for each forum. This parm would include the address(es) that I want the message to be sent to. The message would be sent every time a message is approved (free from moderation) upon the message board. This would enable me to forward messages from Forum A to Message List A. It would allow me to forward messages from Forum B to Message List B. Is it possible?

Hello, A recommendation for all graphs generated in the Admin CP, HighCharts should be used instead of GD for performance reasons. GD runs incredibly slow compared to javascript based graphing. The implementation of HighCharts would be minimal and very high return value, especially for corporate customers who are looking for analytics on their investment. Thanks for the consideration, Mike Trimm Cisco Systems, Inc.

http://p.yusukekamiyamane.com/ If any of the IPS devs are looking for different icons, or to simply change the IP.Suite icons, the fugue set might be a good alternative.
