Most Roman languages (and English too) has only two forms of nouns: one singular and one plural (usually ends with -s). This is very easy to develop programs in these languages using simple logic (if < 2 use singular else use plural). And there are only two forms of nouns in lang files. But things get much worse if we are trying to translate the software into other languages like Russian and maybe some others (maybe IP.Board international customers help me). Admin Logs are not reliable. Very few actions are actually logged in the Admin CP. Considering IP.Board is marketed to corporate sites, this is surprising. Logs are an essential component of accountability. I'd like to see more detailed logs, as well as a better system for searching them. Any changed setting should be logged, as well as the nature of the change.

A nice feature for 3.3 would be to have automatic backup. For my Wordpress site I have a plugin that dumps database and gathers all files to create a backup which can be emailed and/or stored on the server in a zip file. As I guess most sites will have files rather large (larger than being emailed) it would be sweet if a backup could be created and stored locally which I then could script being backed up somewhere else. Even better would be to have it backed up to a third party source like Windows Live SkyDrive automatically.

Global moderators can flag users as spammer in their profiles. This action is reported to the IPS Spam Monitor if community has activated it. However, for the community it is not enough as the restrictions for the spammer are not consequent throughout the applications. E. g. users still can load images in the gallery or comment in blogs, they also can use 3rd party applications that rely on group and permissions and not on the spammer flag. We spend a lot of time to configure banned user group but it is not used for spammers automatically. Instead after flagging, moderators should go to ACP, find the user there and place him into the banned group. This 2-step-procedure …

IPS please can you correct this long standing issue... Every other email list serve forum with email notifications does not alter the subject or goes to the effort not to modify the email so that the users email client will properly thread email by subject. http://screencast.com/t/WWqEE44Knxa This illustrates how badly the email notification becomes by adding "USERNAME replied to" in front of each subject. This forces the email client to sort all like subjects together by user so the thread of the conversation is lost. It becomes most impossible to follow via email when the topic is a very active. I would like to have a filter in calendar, that show me only events created by my friends. We have a lot events here with thousands of users a day and thus calendar is not really usable for us without this filter.

I am not satisfied with Linear+ removing in 3.2.x Lot of my members are glad when they can see the first post on every page in topic. This first posts says "what is the theme in topic" and it's prevent against off-topic. Another thing is, that we have NOT improved SEO in this way. Now meta destription is generated from the first post on each page. So when you have page forums.domain.tld/topic/1-blahblah/page__st__50 and first post on this page has content for exmaple "yeah, you're right" this content is generated as description in Google for that page. Little stupid description. Linear+ is prevention against similar descriptions.

The ability to use code such as {member} for the recipient's name would be very handy when sending out PM's with BCC's. The ability to BCC by group would also be helpful.

It would be nice to add URL Filtering Options (from System Settings > Forums > Topics, Posts and Polls) with white and black lists to the ACP Restrictions, so that moderators with ACP access can manage the lists themselves.

I have a number of sites, one is for my products (which is having a holiday somewhere) the others are my Simulation, Jokes & personal sites. What I would like is that these three sites all use one instance of the chat client. By that I mean on the sim site you click 'Chat' you go to my chat area, if you click chat on either of the other two you get the same chat. With this in place it might be worth my while to increase the number of people I can have in chat as they would all be chatting together rather than 3 separate ones. Yes I do realise that I could make the chat link on the others bounce over to the 'main' one I could probably even have the number of people…

I have noticed I am often starting topics by a post which needs more time to prepare (eg. I need to collect more data, research, translations, links). I would find useful if I had an option to save it as a draft (the same way we can do in Blogs) and publish it once it is complete and ready. I think this could be done easily and such a draft topics could be highlighted by a DRAFT tag. This is just a suggestion for your consideration :)

Doing translations in the ACP is really hard. The word search can result in 60 pages of words so i would really suggest a way to filter between public/admin language strings but also do a search for within a particular application.

Is it possible to have a different header image for each part of the IPB suite ? We are hoping to merge two or three sites using different packages (Joomla, Wordpress, Coppermine ) into one bigger IPB site. The forum site and the Wordpress/Coppermine site already have distinct identities so we would like the header in each area to reflect that. We are not looking to do anything with URLs etc, just headers. IP.Content will replace Wordpress and be our main front page if we add logo in IPB board it is the same throughout site. (we are using wrapper in content) Any tips/suggestions to achieve this? (null)

Dear IPS devs, As larger sites can struggle with huge member tables, I'd absolutely love it, if this was taken in to consideration and rectified for IPB 3.3. I'm not a developer, so these suggestions might not be possible but here goes; Members table: Add the ability to archive members. Ideally this would be user defined, i.e archive members who haven't logged in for x days. I think logging in, would be more logical than last post. Alternatively, index the table a-z 0-9 giving 36 tables total, making each one much more manageable. Though I don't know what implication 36 tables has.... It would be really great if Calendar could support integration with Nexus, in a similar fashion to Downloads, so that we could easily support ticket sales. if an event is free then RSVP is fine (though the ability to print the list of attendees would be fab), but for charged events the RSVP button should change to 'buy ticket'. I've been using tags extensively around my forum, and my members are starting to pick up so the boards are being filled quickly with tag prefixes next to topic titles. However, i noticed that despite using different tags, due to the same boring grey background, it makes all tags look the same, unless one were to peer into the screen to read the tag text itself. I believe tags would be more easily recognizable if there were some options in the ACP to modify the background color of tags and the text color as well. Currently, in IPB 3.2.3, it is not possible to edit a skin already created using the visual editor, which means that if i want to edit any part of the theme that i created before, i am forced to start all over again, from the default IPB skin. This is a serious limitation and i really think that it has to be fixed. Suppose i want to edit only a small part of the theme, after having spent hours to find the right tone and hues of the theme that i want, then i'll have to start again, which doesn't make sense as there should be a way to edit a skin created using the visual editor.

It would be GREAT if the RTE icons were put back in the style_images/skin directory. The current icons are... well.... they leave a lot to be desired, and when creating different color skins, especially dark skins, it creates a problem since currently, wherever they are being pulled from, they are not editable on a "per skin" basis. It would also be nice to see the download packet cleaned up a bit. There are a lot of things in the skin directories that are not even being used anymore, but they are still in there anyway.
