I would like to have special notification option:
Notify on comments to my events

At the moment the notification is only sent if I opt in:

Other Notifications -> Notify me of new comments

The notifications are triggered by

1) Following the event
and
2) Enabling the notification option you outlined in your UserCP notification preferences

Is there a specific reason you want to be able to set to be notified of event comment notifications separately? I would think most users would find it easier to just enable notifications for comments, and then only "follow" the items they want to receive comment notifications for. If you have Gallery, and don't follow an image, you won't get notification of its comments just by enabling that option for instance (you would also need to follow the image).

bfarber, you are right. It was just not obvious for me that I have to tick BOTH options to be informed about new comments on the event. Following event is something that (intuitively) should inform me about new comments on the event :) But it is not how it is designed.

I had the same problem, and agree with Sonya*, for me following an event == I want notifications of comments...thanks for clearing it up though!

That's not so much something specific to calendar (or calendar comments), but is globally an "issue". If you follow a topic, but haven't elected to be notified of replies in the notification options, you won't get emails there either.
