I've got 4400+ threads in a vBulletin 3.8 forum that I'm converting to IPB 3.4.7.IPB seems to have kinda half-assed support for prefixes compared to vBulletin; the first tag on a topic is (optionally) repurposed to serve double-duty as a prefix...The converter package doesn't even seem to attempt to migrate these prefixed threads...What can I do?The number of threads is large enough that doing things manually isn't really an option. We can ask users to re-tag and then "prefix" everything by checking the box, but that too would be incomplete, slow, error-prone, etc. Is there a solution for this problem?

Hi, I have problems using the visual skin editor. Its open and placed on the right side of my screen, while the ip board is placed on the left side. But, Im not able to do anything, change anything in the editor. I can change between grid and traditional but thats the only thing that is possible to change. I can also write in the CSS editor on the bottom. Any known bugs? Its IPB4 STig

Hi, I want to offer my forum members groups (2-10 persons) secret groups, where they can communicate without anyone interact or even see what is going on inside the group. Is this manageable, and what is the best way to "tell" members that they have this opportunity and tell them where to register for a forum group like this? Thanks! Stig

Okay I know this can be done because there private investments forum using Invision software that are doing it.We need to be able to embed images from bigcharts.com which wrap their stocks charts in an iframe like this:http://bigcharts.mar...=579&mocktick=1Currently the forum gives us the usual "can't recognize image extension" error so now everybody has to save the image on their desktop and then upload which is cumbersome. I'm pretty new to Invision so I thought it would be an easy thing to allow all images and turn off the image extension filter but it's not. I'm looking to get rid of the index.php in the urls, and there is a warning since I'm running nginx for webserver. Is there any official nginx rewrite configuration for this or could anyone tell me where to find the apache rules to "translate"? Did not find any .htaccess file in my filesystem You are not running Apache and will be required to manually configure the appropriate rewrite rules for your webserver software. Links on your site will not work until you do this!

Hi guys, I just upgraded to 4.0.0 as everyone was saying that they upgraded without any issues. That's true for most of the parts, but there is one big critical error on my site. I had my own design based on the standard template and if its enabled now the whole site is broken. If I wanna check the resource i get this: Do you have an idea! It's pretty bad - ned help.

admin/?adsess=e4ba2c6dabaf94b3517f435ac80d3a01&app=core&module=settings&controller=licensekey [an error occurred while processing this directive] I have just changed directory from /forum/ to the main site directory www.mysite.com - removed the previous redirect that exists and now I'm receiving the above error when accessing the site. I have updated the URL in the client area but still the same. Any ideas? I have raised a ticket.

Hello! I'm currently having an issue with trying to do a clean install of 4.0RC. I have a custom profile field that is displayed in user's profile next to posts. Depending on the option selected, I'm displaying an image with the following code in the display format box: <img src="{content}.png"/>It work's nicely, however, there is an option that in case selected, the field should not be displayed at all. I tried using {{if}} to wrap the <img> tag, but all the code gets displayed in the profile field. Currently I have a blank image set, but it is not ideal, because there's a blank area in users' profiles with that particular option instead of nothing at all.

The text inside topics, posts, articles and blogs got messed up when I upgraded my 3.4.7 forum to the most recent RC version. For example, instead of the word world's, that word was transformed into world–s. In this case it was the apostrophe that got messed up for some reason, but there were other examples, such as ’ instead of a dash. Any idea how I can avoid this from happening when I try to upgrade to IPB4 Gold?

I have made a very simple plugin for IP.Gallery (4.0.0 RC7a) and with Theme Hook tried to add a class to some <ul> list. But, when I went to that IP.Gallery page, the class wasn't there. After that I have tried to insert anything with Theme Hook into DOM, but nothing appers. What's the deal? Does anybody know?

So my installation process is as follows: -uploaded files to directory -created mysql (through cpanel) -run install Soo once i ran the install, i got through to where you create the admin account, and right after that I hit the start installation process and it crashed on me saying it failed to open page. Might I add that the server passed the check test. Heres the error log:

When I try to register on my forum (recaptcha 1 enabled) I get error "You did not pass the security check. Please try again." even though I enter the captcha correctly. Re-tried registering multiple times, but still getting same error. SO I decided to put NONE on CAPTCHAS When I try to register this time it gave me this error what is the deal?

A user pointed out that trying to open a particular thread causes a database error. The thread spans many years and has 236 pages so I'm wondering if that's related somehow. This is my error. I'm pretty new to Invision so I don't know if there are steps I can take to fix this. Any maintenance tips? Do I need support? Driver Error. There appears to be an error with the database. If you are seeing this page, it means there was a problem communicating with our database. Sometimes this error is temporary and will go away when you refresh the page. Sometimes the error will need to be fixed by an administrator before the site will become accessible again.
