    1.3.0 submitted 2/7/2021 - available when you see it in the ACP, should be a day or two from now
    NEW! Core - Lazy-load option for userphotos NEW! Forums - Index - Option to hide the circle-dot unread marker on sub-forums (sub-forum titles remain bolded when unread) NEW! Forums - Topics - append topic author's user group after author's name. Plain or formatted. ADD! A few new language strings to replace hard-coded text in settings. The lazy load is the newer browser-based lazy flag. That's all. IPS will eventually be removing all their own javascript lazy load stuff in a later version of Invision Community in favor of the new browser standards - this just jumps ahead of the line for userphotos - mainly due to all the noise from that topic a week or two ago. This is like a two second hook to make so figured I'd throw it in. This will, naturally, get yanked when IPS eventually flips stuff over...
    The rest should be self-explanatory

    If you mean the Searchlight functionality coming from clicking those autocomplete links, then no, as the terms for Searchlight marking are pulled from the search results form, and this plugin is giving you results you click directly to right there. So Searchlight would have nothing to mark out. If you ignored those auto-complete suggestions and went on through to the usual search results, then the marking would work.
    Other than that, nothing there interferes with anything I'm doing.

    Hello giovanny castro

    Since you are inquiring about someone from within Invision to review your ongoing site issue personally, it may be best to reach them through ticket support. The community forums here are designed for peer to peer support. I am not suggesting that no one at Invision will see your post, only that usually for faster and direct service support, contacting Invision through the client area is often the way to go. https://www.invisioncommunity.com/clientarea/

    In the meantime, as a fellow customer who is online, I and others could provide some clues if you noticed any error messages?

    Clearly you don't appreciate iMessage as the defacto standard interface for business and technical communication. Must be a discerning gentleman of an Android guy. Like myself.

    Actually, forums have been "paying" people for posting since the beginning of time.
    We pay them in badges, in ranks, in pips, in titles, in signatures, in special permissions, in upgraded membergroups, in crazy formatting and styling.  We've been paying and paying since forums have been around.

    I purchased this addon but for a $35 app, the dev is not very responsive to questions and suggestions. The APP is missing so much vital controls, it makes it hard to use. I have a forum that pays members for posting but I must hard limit their group to xx amount of posts per day in order to stop them at a certain point from earning. It shouldn't have to be this way. If the user wants to continue posting and not care about points for rest of the day, they physically can't because of the way the app is. The app is not intertwined to the commerce exchange points for currency, so that's another flaw. The app doesn't support deletion of points for a post getting soft deleted, only perm deleted. I'd like to keep the post if a user gets warned as proof, but can't be bothered to deduct all the points. These things need to be automatic. I find it hard to continue using IPB because of these restrictions whereas Xenforo has DragonBytes credits which can do ALL of these features...
    I'd love to see points be integrated with the actual software and support all of these major features which is very widely needed.

    Just wondering if this is something you think may get included in a future release?
    Maybe I'm wrong, but I would guess a lot of sites don't utilise features like calendar events or commerce, and so creating a new topic is the only option for users. Therefore removing the extra menu/click would definitely be a nice little improvement.

    100% agree with you @Joel R - this really feels like a huge backward step in forum engagement and a number of our VIP members have now complained to us that they had to turn the setting completely off as they were getting 20-100 email notifications per day now.
    That means they're missing the important notifications of when they were being tagged and quoted in posts, which was their trigger before the "upgrade" to go and interact.
    Really hoping IPB can address this one shortly.

    We're getting multiple complaints from users now - they just want it to go back to how it was before.
    I.e. getting an email if they are tagged or quoted in a post and NOT getting an email for every "Like" button push.
    For some of our members, this is the difference between 1-2 emails a day and 40-50 emails a day.
    I've seen some crazy dev decisions in my 23 years in the tech industry and this one is definitely up the top of that list. I'm sure there must have been a reason for making the change, but from the outside I definitely can't see one.
    IPB have replied to us saying that we might see a fix in a future release.
    I suspect the only way to get that to the top of the list is for us all to continually (and politely) keep asking them about this one.
    So, if you're affected - please make sure to open a ticket with them so that they hear from enough users and then schedule a reminder to check-in with this ticket on a regular (but reasonable) cadence.

    That's flawed though, as someone is very likely to want to be notified when someone mentions them or replies directly to them, they're highly unlikely to want to be notified every time someone likes or reacts to their content. Particularly on a busier forum where there are 100's of reactions to some posts.

    No, but it does send a notification of a reaction to a post, which is linked in to selecting you want to be notified of new replies to a topic and there's no method to separate them.

    The net result of this is that people switch off their email notifications so as not to get the notifications they don't want. Bundling together replies, mentions and reactions is a real backward step, and is going to actually end up reducing people's engagement over time. I assume that's not what you had planned @Matt - please look into changing it and allowing people more control, other than stopping their notifications entirely.

    Before 4.5, members were able to follow others and disable notifications for status updates. After updating, this setting stopped working or were removed.
    I agree with @Dll, and I'm getting complaints everyday for this reason.

    We're getting complaints from users that although they want notifications for things like replies and mentions, they don't want or need them for reactions to posts. It would be useful to be able to give them that option.

    Since the above application hasn't been updated since 2019, I wonder if IPS would consider adding some of these features into the core software? I imagine reactions are used by almost every community, so would be great to see their functionality expanded a little more. 🙂

    Perhaps this is a pipe dream, but as sub-economies have proven to be a very effective way of hijacking goal-oriented psychology I would love to see a native points system in IPB.
    In such an application one could develop different "banks" for different types of points systems depending on the nature of your website.  Examples:
    "credits" (for purchasing services, Store products, exchanging for cash donations to relevant charities) tokens (for gambling, buying bling for their online personae) hours (if you're like me, you sell hours of tuition and/or consultation) How might these points be accumulated/awarded?  Examples:
    buying blocks of tokens/credits/hours in the Store buying Store products: buy product X and get Y amount of credits in points system Z having the highest-rated answers in a Q/A Support forum having the highest reputation in a given forum Awarding points to people who invite new members to your community completing courses or other certifications Other ideas:
    Targeted emails to certain groups, or certain individuals when credits/tokens/hours are at X or 0 - time to get more!) Targeted emails to people indicating they've been awarded free tokens/credits/etc. Promotions where points are awarded under special circumstances from dates X to Y Toss tokens into a (virtual) fight pit and watch your community fight for them.  Cue the oldschool Star Trek fight music.  Dance, puppets, daaaaance! mwuahahaha) Hijacking goal-oriented psych--err, offering points could be a great way to spur development and participation in one's community.  They could also obviously be integrated into other apps (or other apps could make use of points) as part of competitions, e.g., submitting the highest-rated photos, articles, blog posts, etc.  The possibilities go on and on!
    As some know there have been a couple of third-party devs who have made Points systems, but I have come to think that if one is going to embed something like this into a community (let alone a business) I wouldn't want to trust it to anyone but the core developers for updates and stability.
    I obviously can't speak for others, but I for one would be happy to pay for this as an additional (optional) IPS module, similar to the way IP.Downloads is offered.

    Thats is what I have got during upgrade yesterday and thanks to a previous post (below) which saved the day. We can overcome upgrade error just like you have shown in your video but there may be more tables ( I had mode than 150 in my case) which causes a warning each time you run Support Tool.
    Since I did not want to put a script on the server which was suggested on the other post, I had to do them in batches as you have shown in video which of course took a while.
    By the way you can get a list of the tables if you have SSH access to MYSQL
    >MYSQL
    >USE <DBNAME> ;
    > SHOW TABLE STATUS  WHERE Row_format="Compact";

    Members = people who are logged in.
    Guest = members who aren't logged in OR don't have an account.
    Visitors = members+guests.

    Also, when you say "guest and member chart" are you talking about what is found in 'ACP->Statistics->Users->Online Users'? Because if you are, do note that this is NOT an actual traffic chart and if you sum up the numbers you WILL NOT get the number of visitors your site has, as explained here.

    SUBRTX reacted to Colonel_mortis in How do I know if a website is using 4.4 or 4.5?
    I realise this ship has probably long since sailed, but we're 3 months into 4.5.4, and there's a decent pile of bugs, including a currently unpatched security related one, that have piled up in that time. Is there any chance we can have a 4.5.5 release to fix some of those bugs, rather than watching 4.6 stretch further and further out? I pushed for the features to be included in 4.6 rather than 4.5.5, but I did not intend for that to be at the expense of the timely release of other changes. (I also recognise wanting to give staff a break etc, but we're well into 2021 now, and surely having more bugs fixed would reduce their load anyway?)
